honestly, i don't like leaving bad reviews, and i put this one off for a while. but i decided i needed to relay the info, if anything maybe it won't happen again. i went in there on the recommendation of a friend to purchase a specific hair colour (a shade of red that really popped, and we have very similar hair) - i usually colour my hair from a box, so i was hoping for expert opinions on if i should plus advice. when i went in it was a bit busy so i spent time alone in the aisle browsing the selection. i had a couple of shades in my hand when i saw an associate so i quickly grabbed her. i started the interaction by saying "i have never used this kind of hair colour before, how do you know what strength of the developing cream you need?" -she took one look at the colour in my hands and then eyeballed me all the way up and said, very abrupt and rudely "you DO realize that that is a DARKER colour than you have in your hair, right?" - taken aback all i could do was stutter "uh uh yes" she then carried on talking at me about how i am not going to get a bright colour with what i have, how i shouldn't do this, or that, how i really should be seeing a stylist to do it... which i am sure doesn't seem so bad reading it on a screen, but the manner in which she spoke it was definitely as though she was talking down to me, treating me like i was an idiot.. i didn't even get an opportunity to ask the questions i wanted to ask (or explain that i was just looking at the colour in my hand that she jumped to so many conclusions about)... i was so surprised by the way i was being spoken to that i could hardly form a sentence. i ended the conversation, put back everything in my hands (two boxes of colour, developing creme, colouring brush, 3 bottles of nail polish and a teasing comb) and went across the parking lot to wal-mart to buy my box colour. i should hope that this was an isolated incident but i was extremely put off by what happened to me. If i decide to try again it will be a different location. read more
