We were stranded in a pretty remote rural area of Kansas, hours from home and with no idea who to contact for help. I have roadside assistance on our vehicle policy through State Farm and used their app to report the problem, and identity our location. The app then used their network to arrange for a towing service to respond. We were conected with Lucas Towing Of Kansas, LLC, a Veteran-owned business out of Salina, Kansas. They responded very promptly and were great in arranging not only the tow, but also for a ride for my wife and I. They kept in communication every step of the way and through the State Farm app we could "see" on a map how they were progressing in getting to us. Lucas, the owner, was great in speaking with me and ensuring we would be taken care of and had what we needed. Mary, who communicated with me on "the office stuff" was so friendly and patient with my questions. Ed, the tow driver, was a great guy and so helpful when he arrived, loaded the Tahoe up, and then made to haul to Hutchison, Kansas to a Chevrolet service center. Thanks to Lucas, Mary, and Ed! You each made a stressful situation much easier to get through than it could have been. We appreciate you all.

Nothing on their invoice showed that they were justified in charging that amount. The only way this job could have been easier is if my car had been on dry ground.

After some minor paint damage happened to my car, I took it to Dacus for an estimate. They…read moreperformed the estimate and sent it to me, and then I provided it to my insurance company - all good so far. After insurance processed it, we received a check for $500 less than what the claim had been. I called the insurance company to ask why this was, and they said that Dacus had agreed to do the work for the lower price, so with my deductible and the check they had sent I would be good to go. I called Dacus to schedule to work, however they surprised me: They said they didn't care what they had agreed to with the insurance company, they would be charging me the full price on the original estimate, and probably more, and I would just have to eat what insurance didn't cover. Thankfully, I called my insurance and was able that check voided (it was addressed to the body shop), and found another body shop that agreed to do the work at the price that Dacus had agreed to do it for before they tried to make me pay the original estimate price out of pocket. The insurance company had the documentation that Dacus had agreed to do the work for that lower price, email trail and everything, so Dacus apparently thought they would just agree to the lower price and then get some extra money on top out of me. No thanks.
