And the Berglund Performing Arts Theatre in the Center, with 2,150 seats, is one of my favorite places to go for entertainment in this City. Some might call it old, and some might call it small, but to me it's just perfect, since like wine, I feel its gotten better with time, and the community has gotten to know and appreciate it, as well as love it, because the performances played their have enriched their lives. This Holiday Season, as soon as the tickets to the Nutcracker went on sale, I made sure to purchase one ticket, for a front row center seat, to better appreciate the performance, since this year it's the 35th Anniversary of the Nutcracker being performed at the Berglund Center by the Southwest Virginia Ballet. This year it was being presented with a live orchestra, the Virginia's Blue Ridge Orchestra conducted by Dr. Wayne Gallops. And would have new choreography from the new Artistic Director, Laurence Blake. Sometimes when we talk about the Berglund Center, we don't realize that it is more than just the building structure, and we don't give enough credit to the employees and volunteer who play a great role in all of the performances there. They are one of the most welcoming, friendliest, and helpful group of individuals you can think of. This year I also got a VIP tour of the Center and since the day of this performance they were also having the parade downtown, I ended up receiving a personal tour and had the privilege of chatting on the stage with the founder of the Southwest Virginia Ballet as well as with the new Artistic Director of the Ballet. The Arts, in whatever form, is the soul of the people in the community. I highly recommend that you attend the performances here and give the Center and all those groups that perform here throughout the year, your total support. Because they enrich and bring joy to our lives, and by doing so, it gives meaning and a sense of satisfaction to theirs.

The bathroom was in another building. I had a ticket taker checking bags and he stopped me to ask if I had any guns or knives or weapons. He didn't ask anyone else. That was rude. Everyone else inside was super friendly.. the show was great. I managed to get a photo with JoKoy.. the only food are pretzels and popcorn. Eat and go before you come in. The seats themselves were comfy. They need to fix the bathroom situation and be better accessible for disabled patrons.

Are you looking at colleges and wondering if this campus is the right one for you? Or your child? I…read morecame here for work and wanted to give my observations on the campus layout and the area in regards to safety. First off, Roanoke Virginia is a very historic town and the people here are super friendly very inviting and quick to lend a hand when it's needed! The campus is spread out but the buildings are easy to find and labeled well. There are campus maps periodically spread out through the walking paths at the campus itself. There's lots of student interaction on campus I myself got lost looking for the building I was heading to for a conference and stopped someone who quickly pointed me in the right direction. The buildings are clean and updated when it comes to the historic buildings, and lots of new construction buildings on campus as well! As a town, Roanoke is easy to navigate the streets are well maintained and the area is well lit at night. I had zero concern for walking downtown out of my hotel and the quaintness of the entire city is extraordinary.

Relatively comfy seats and sufficient room between rows. Generally helpful, friendly, and polite staff at concession. $3 regular popcorn on Tuesdays with the AMC Stub membership. Ticket discount on Tuesdays with the above membership. - - - - Somewhat in-your-face approach of certain staff with the membership sign-up. There's a difference between asking customers if they're interested and leading with "the only way to get a discount on tickets is to get this membership," which is the approach of the staff that served us, and I didn't appreciate having to verbally give out my personal information including name, phone number, and date of birth. I see the value in membership, so how about a less aggressive approach that includes a quick lowdown on the membership benefits? I noticed stains in the bottom half of the screen (auditorium 1), which was bothersome during certain scenes when the stains were more noticeable. The movie Baby Driver was AWESOME, and we'd definitely go back here.

Outside is not very welcoming could use a fresh paint-coat, parking lot needs to be striped and maybe some nice flower beds or pots. Maybe make a smoking area so people are not smoking right outside door . Lots of games for kids to play. They have two free style machine which is the only fantastic thing . Nacho cheese is not warm and popcorn doesn't really have a fresh taste at all. Pricing is fair . The seats suck , like sitting on sticks. Could be a nice gem if owner really wanted it to .

To Whom It May Concern,…read more I wanted to share my recent experience at the fair in hopes that it can help improve future processes. As part of employee appreciation, I was given two tickets to redeem at the ticket counter by 6:00 PM. I arrived at approximately 5:45 PM, well within the designated time, but due to inclement weather and lightning in the area, we were not allowed inside. During this time, announcements were being made encouraging people to seek shelter in the building for safety reasons. We followed these instructions, but shortly afterward, police directed everyone to exit the building again. The situation was very confusing and disorganized, with no clear guidance on how or where to safely wait. Once things cleared up, we finally made it to the ticket counter around 7:30 PM to redeem our tickets. I explained our situation to the staff member, including that we had arrived on time but were prevented from entering. Despite this, she would not honor our tickets. This was especially disheartening since we had only brought enough money for food and drinks, and we were forced to use that to purchase admission instead. It was disappointing, especially for the kids, and unfortunately, it left a negative impression on what was meant to be a fun and appreciative experience. Personally, if I were in her position, I would have shown compassion and made sure the children received their wristbands, given the unusual circumstances. Because of this experience, I have decided not to return to the fair. I hope in the future more understanding and flexibility can be shown during weather-related situations, especially when families are doing their best to comply with safety protocols
