This restaurant is really interesting for its history; it's been around since 1936, and still has…read moremany of its original decor features. It is attached to the Alluvian Hotel which has been around just as long. I would say it's good to go to at least once if you're in the Greenwood MS area, if only for the history. The service is always kind but takes a LONG time to get any kind of drinks or food. The food is at best OK. I really enjoy their crawfish dip appetizer, but have had several items on the menu for entrees, including their Delta Catfish filet (the sauce was ok, and the catfish fresh but it was not flavorful), and their Spinach stuffed Manicotti (this was touted as one of their best entrees according to the waitress, but the pasta was over cooked and the flavor was nothing special; I've certainly had much better), which were both subpar. The dessert was decent, but nothing to write home about. I enjoyed their gelato, but it could have just as easily come from a jar purchased at the grocery store. TLDR: I've come to this restaurant several times now (wanted to give it a decent shot since I'm not from the area) and I would go for the history but not stay for the food. It's overpriced for the quality and the service is way too slow. Even though a few items were decent (I.e. the crawfish dip), there isn't enough there for me to sit down and have another meal. *This review is generous because it's in the middle of nowhere MS

Another little spot in Greenwood MS, it's a pretty decent Italian restaurant, especially for the…read morearea. Every time I'm here for work, it's one of my go to spots to eat good pasta. I usually get the ravioli with either rose sauce or Alfredo sauce, but I've had coworkers try the pesto sauce as well and they've loved it all the same. They have a make your own pasta section where you can mix and match pasta types and different sauces as well as add protein if you want to. From $6-$8 for a small portion to $10-$12 for a large portion, it's very affordable. Their bread pudding dessert is to die for! They really do know how to make it well in the south! It's very moist and has an amazing cinnamon flavor and caramel sauce on top that was so well blended I didn't even notice that it was caramel (I normally hate caramel, hence the comment). The service is pretty great with everyone saying nothing but kind words and being polite. The only negatives I would have to say is that for an Italian restaurant they don't have garlic bread which isn't necessary but definitely surprising. Also, the to go packing definitely needs work....I ordered their pasta to go and asked for extra sauce, and instead of giving me a separate container that is plastic and can hold liquids securely for travel, they attempted to fit all of the extra sauce in the same cardboard container which was not waterproof and told me to be careful because it was so full. Of course I can't help that as I was driving back without someone holding it, and the sauce ended up spilling everywhere in the paper bag and leaking so much that the bag had to be torn for me to get the food without everything falling to the floor. I ended up going from extra sauce to practically none and almost no food due to the negligence. I wish they would have put some kind of suran wrap around the containers so they would at least hold together until I got back. Sorry for the lack of photos, I always eat it too quickly to take pictures as it's quite good.

She traveled all day yesterday and once she finally arrived to her room, her and her co-workers decided to go grab a late dinner. They found this place and were very happy. My wife is kind of a salmon snob and a bit picky. She messaged me these pictures and insisted this is the best salmon she ever had. That speaks volumes since there are several restaurants here in Vegas that have amazing salmon. She really enjoyed the plate along with the asparagus. Restaurant empty probably because it wasn't dinner time yet. A lady who seemed to be her mom came and was friendly. I wanted an ice coffee. My companion wanted a regular hot coffee. She stated that she'd have to make a new batch since the existing coffee was old from this morning. That was thoughtful. While waiting, I looked at all certificates from health inspections, etc. On wall near front door. All looked expired. One expired last year and others were at least 2 to 3 years old I believe. This had me concerned and nervous. We got the coffee. Please note they don't have any specialty espresso in case you're a coffee fan. My companion says the coffee was very watery. So I never drank mine unfortunately over concerns listed above. There are no cafes in town that I know of with good coffee. I wanted to leave and get money back but I didn't want to be rude. Also I noticed the young lady putting ice with a bucket into the top of the soda machine. She compounded it down with the side of the bucket. I'm not sure how clean that method is. Maybe it would be better to use gloves and do it by hand to spread put the ice once you pour it? Just suggesting. I'm not sure how the food is since we only bought coffee.
