Oysters Trio -4 Giardina , 4 Rockefeller , Bienville Artichoke dip with corn tortilla chips

A hidden Delta Mississippi gem! Came to stay at the Alluvian for a wedding, and got to have dinner at Giardina's! A group of 4 of us were seated in our own private room. Completely bound with 3 walls and a curtain. This allowed for privacy for our group dinner - which we absolutely loved. Started with an appetizer of spinach and artichoke dip and the oyster trio. Amazing. Each of us had different entrees, and one friend had a gluten-allergy that the restaurant was able to be very accommodating of! We also shared two bottles of wine. Apparently reservations here book up very quickly, so if you're planning to make a visit be sure to book in advance. We loved every bite!

This restaurant is within the Alluvian Hotel where we stayed. I had checked and made reservations at the time we booked the hotel and Viking Cooking school. We were seated on time and had no problems. Several people we met at Cooking School had stories of terrible waits and rudeness when they arrived at this restaurant. Seating is very limited because of the curtained booth arrangement and like many places, staffing seems to be short at the moment. Our waitress was new and was good at service but couldn't answer any questions about the restaurant's history or food items. I definitely wouldn't recommend going here without reservations. From the name, I assumed this was an Italian restaurant but the Italian menu items were fairly limited. Steaks appear to be their specialty. My companion tried the eggplant Parmesan which was Ok but the dish was not that great- the pasta and sauce were on the dry side and the spices overpowered the eggplant, just a poor example of a classic Italian dish. The Aged Ribeye was perfectly done and a really great steak, one of the best I've ever eaten. If you enjoy a good steak, I can understand this would be a great restaurant. This was apparently an old local restaurant which was relocated to this hotel. The dining areas are enclosed booths with curtains, similar to another more famous local restaurant, now closed, Lusco's. It is a rather unique dining experience which reminds you of days of prohibition and secretive, sometimes romantic evenings in a small Mississippi Delta town.

In town on business, eating alone and had a fantastic time in my personalized room. Food and service was prompt and delicious. What a nice experience. Can't wait until next visit.

Attached to the amazingly luxurious Alluvian hotel is the fabulous Giardina's Restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is spectacular. It's one of those places where the menu doesn't even list prices, but if you're willing to splurge, it's well worth it. This is a good restaurant not only by Mississippi standards, but by gourmet, Michelin standards.

Great spot for dinner when staying at the Alluvian Hotel and enjoying the Fantastic Alluvian Spa. The Calamari (do the special seasoned version instead of the regular - not sure what they call it?) I've had the lamb chops and Brussels Sprouts. A friend of mine has the pasta with Salmon then adds crab and some special spicy sauce that's called "come back sauce". I tried hers and it was yummy! I'll need to lose 5 pounds before having that particular dish though!

Way down deep in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, the place I call home, lies Giardina's restaurant; a true Delta jewel. Giardina's is left of The Alluvian , a very beautiful boutique hotel that is often home to Steven Spielberg and other big names who come to work and visit the delights of The Delta. Giardina's, popular for its private dining booths(where people would sneak and drink during prohibition) is an Italian- American fusion restaurant with delectable food that will leave you with cravings that you'll only find in The Delta! After becoming the newest face at PAMA models this week, I am still enjoying great food, but on the lighter side. I enjoyed a delicious house salad tossed in a house vinaigrette, salt and pepper, garnished with cherry tomatoes! For a main course, I had broiled shrimp; an authentic recipe that has been the same and amazing for years. The mashed potatoes are super creamy ! My favorite two pairings at Giardina's! Follow @cam_2_cool on instagram, he's the executive chef! Every week he's working hard, creating amazing new dishes!(we used to bus tables 10 years ago and now he's the boss). So, if you're ever in The Delta: EAT Giardina's!

Okay food, sweet and beautiful bartender. Yummy manhattans. Not many other options for food in Greenwood but Serios is decent.

Restaurant empty probably because it wasn't dinner time yet. A lady who seemed to be her mom came and was friendly. I wanted an ice coffee. My companion wanted a regular hot coffee. She stated that she'd have to make a new batch since the existing coffee was old from this morning. That was thoughtful. While waiting, I looked at all certificates from health inspections, etc. On wall near front door. All looked expired. One expired last year and others were at least 2 to 3 years old I believe. This had me concerned and nervous. We got the coffee. Please note they don't have any specialty espresso in case you're a coffee fan. My companion says the coffee was very watery. So I never drank mine unfortunately over concerns listed above. There are no cafes in town that I know of with good coffee. I wanted to leave and get money back but I didn't want to be rude. Also I noticed the young lady putting ice with a bucket into the top of the soda machine. She compounded it down with the side of the bucket. I'm not sure how clean that method is. Maybe it would be better to use gloves and do it by hand to spread put the ice once you pour it? Just suggesting. I'm not sure how the food is since we only bought coffee.

Our server came over and was friendly and professional. I opted to go with the birria tacos. Our food was brought in a relatively quick amount of time. I have to say that the birria tacos were pretty good. I would definitely get them again and would recommend them. The prices were about what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant and my meal here was an overall positive experience.
