To be honest, I hadn't gone shopping at Saks in awhile, but a recent trip was fun and this Saks has a great variety of designer brands and even better, they have generous sale markdowns. Saks is located in Waterside Shops with easy access, it's directly across from the parking garage. When you enter the store, it's filled with the best inventory and friendly staff. A couple of employees said hi as I walked by and I had a chat with one of the staff doing inventory in the handbags department. It's great seeing employees who enjoy their job. I spent time browsing and having fun, something my spouse doesn't understand when shopping. They have an amazing collection of shoes, with top designer names, Tom Ford fragrance which is hard to find and a variety of clothes from the best designers. Saks is an impressive choice when looking for gifts or something to take home. The sales make things more affordable and it's always nice to shop a top quality store. read more

BY FAR the best Saks in the system! Inventory is abundant, women's clothing is well organized, and there are always plenty of sales people to help! Jewelry selection is quite good too! One area that lacks professionalism is the makeup counter... they can't seem to accurately manage stocking and the expertise in current makeup trends is lacking. The sales people in this area seem to lack motivation and work ethic whereas the clothing department staff all hustle. Purchased a Fendi belt here while on vacation. Three months later (and only worn maybe 4 times) and the buckle is destroyed and the gold is peeling off. Took the item to Fendi and they agreed it was an issue with the belt and could not have been from west and tear based on the age and fact that the leather shows no signs of wear and tear. Unfortunately Fendi is telling me to deal with Saks. I go to a local Saks and the manager tells me to go through Saks.com because designer items are 'leased' and must be returned online. Saks.com tells me this is an in store purchase so much be handled in store. They cannot seem to get on the same page and it's a waste of time! Saks - in its heyday - was the prime spot to get top level fashion with impeccable service. Unfortunately, these stores seem to have slipped a few pegs. Everything I wanted to buy was either a Small or an XXL. Anything in a normal, men's size was absent from the racks. Plus, in most departments I couldn't find anybody to assist me. They must've let go most of their staff, because finding anyone to help was a near impossibility. They still have all of the top brands and mini boutiques in store, including Chanel, Bottega Veneta, and Fendi. My wife says the shoe department is "solid," and found a couple of designer pairs to purchase - and the salesperson was very knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, three decent stars. read more

Absolutely horrible Customer Service. I came in to find a dress and went to the section to find someone to assist. I found Linda near the department and asked for her help. She was chatting with a friend and literally told me no, to go find someone else to help. It was an $800 dress mine you. After circling the store to find someone else, I finally asked to speak to a manager. While the manager found someone to help me, he did not once apologize for the poor service. I was in the area on vacation and decided to treat myself to some Prada sunglasses. The transaction was smooth, however, as driving back I noticed a few fingerprints on the glasses. Thought it was no big deal I'll clean them at home. I could not get the fingerprints off whatsoever. Not even with glass cleaner or a dab of dawn soap. Called them back and said to come in and they can clean them up for me. Went to the same lady who sold me the glasses. She couldn't get them off either. Funny how she even sold me the glasses in the first place with the stains. Manager was called and wow was she rude haha! The manager did not like the encounter one bit. But too bad. I bought some clothes to be delivered for Christmas and specifically told the sales woman to make sure price tags were off and each item with a gift receipt in a gift box. She assured me that she understood what i was asking, she had a foreign accent so I double checked she understood what i said. To my disappointment they were delivered with price tags on all items, no gift receipts and no gift boxes!Today I went to the store and spoke to the mens dept store manager and he was absolutely no help. He didn't take my name and when i gave him the name of the employee he didn't write it down. All he said was im sorry. I am in the medical field and patient satisfaction is taken seriously. when patients complain about something it's taken as opportunity to improve and get it right. This manager was nothing but a salesclerk who didn't give a damn about what i said. NOT GOOD..... After several enjoyable shopping trips here I always enjoyed shopping here. Problem is that when you try to call and get someone on the phone it is literally like playing the lottery. WORST phone system ever.. Finally when you get someone, you get disconnected. I literally spent 75 minutes on the phone today calling back numerous times, finally got a human on the phone.. only to be disconnected after she already started processing my request. Then I call another department and they walk over to the girl I was speaking with and she spends 10 minutes on the phone telling me why she was too busy to help me!! So I guess I'm NOT as important as the person in the store.She could have processed my request in that same time. Then I gave her my number to have the store manager Peter call me back and someone else calls me back and proceeds to tell me that she can't process my request that the other girl already started!! So basically.. They told me I would need to drive into NYC and return the item I bought on sale.. and repurchase it at the sale price!! So much for Customer Satisfaction... Waterside's anchor retailer should be on the Naples Must See list. Especially when the doors swing open at 10 AM. The best entrance to use, purely for dramatic effect, is on the south side facing Vanderbilt. Here, you are led directly to the cosmetic counters. Saks allows each brand to set up their tents, err expensive counters, like exquisite invading tribes who's individual members promote their respective lines. There's up lighting, down lighting, around the mirror scarey lighting, and lovely scents to disorient you. The living mannequins, aka perfume sellers, are stealthy here, but wary. They will back off if you wave a hand or shake your head, "No," as they mumble some unintelligible code that roughly translates to: "Wanna buy this tiny bottle that costs as much as your last two months' groceries?" Last week on a Thursday, I got to Saks just as it opened, and sailed into Cosmetics-Land. I was greeted by a greeter, or as I like to think, the Lieutenant Colonel of Saks' army of fashionable ladies dressed in black, whose makeup is so perfect, you have to look away in a self-shaming gesture of respect. Lt Greeter found out that I needed mascara. I was indeed in bizarre but brilliant territory here. No amount of velvet questioning could get me to name a brand. Frankly, I forgot which one my daughter / fashion General had sent me to find. So I pretty much said, stopping just short of pounding my foot on the ground like Trigger, that I want volume, length, and - yeah, a better price than the one your scout over there near Lt Greeter just quoted. I got lovely service from the Lancome people - she must have been from the French Foreign Legion of elegant fake lashes. As she rang up my sale, my request for a quick (free) demo was kindly turned down. I turned to see her first appointment of the day, waiting impatiently beside me, dressed like a million bucks, with a featureless face, fresh from a shower. This lady was not the only one, as I saw many similar clients gliding into positions at various camp perches for their experts of choice to paint a face on them. This is how some of Naples awake: Coffee, valet, personal services. A friend who once worked in Saks confided that clients bearing Black credit cards (unlimited shopping ability) can request a department closing during their personal shopping errands, but rarely do. Even more rumor has it that Naples Saks sees about 25 Black card transactions a day. Heady stuff. Blinking into my day with my newly mascara'd eyes, I may not be the heavy weight customer with a Black card, but I did escape with a stiff black Saks bag stuffed with white tissue and a gravity defying Lancome cosmetic box. read more

This review pertains to the NARS Makeup area only. I came in to specifically purchase a NARS product. As I approached the counter, the sale associate turned away, went to the opposite side of the NARS counter and proceeded to engage with her cell phone. Not once acknowledging me. I spoke up and said, "pardon me" and she continued to keep her down looking at her phone. Finally, a responsive sales associate from a completely different area came over and asked if she could assist me, while the other sales associate continued to text or review emails on her cell phone. I hope this isn't typical behavior, but I am truly surprised cell phones are allowed during work hours. Thank you to the sales associate that decided to "come to work and work". read more

One of my favorite one-stop shopping centers, going to Saks Fifth is typically a pretty fun experience. This particular establishment however embodied the horrid snootiness that one hopes to avoid when spending hard-earned money. Upon entering the relatively empty store, I was NOT greeted by the 3 or 4 employees milling about by the entrance (and mind you, I made sure to dress well enough to warrant a greeting). Evidently, customer service was below cold shouldering said customers on their to-do list. So anyhow, I milled about, and did my business, the entire time wishing for a "how are you?" or perhaps a "can I help you?". After leaving to continue shopping through the rest of the mall, I came back through to get to my car. As I walked to the exit doors, a couple employees were heading out in front of me for a smoke break outside. Rather than hold the doors (I was immediately behind the employees) the gentlemen let them swing back into me. So, if you enjoy a shopping experience as frigid and uninviting as the ice floes of the North, take your business here. read more

I only go to Saks for Creed Fragrances. I really like the fact they place them out for you to test to see which fragrance you would like to purchase. It has been a while since I have purchased a Creed fragrance from Saks but intend to do it again in the near future. Great place to purchase your fragrances from and very knowledgeable staff. Be prepared to pay the price for fine fragrances but there is a difference between Creed and everything else. Creed in my opinion makes the best overall fragrances on Earth. I am not the usual Saks customer as I am middle class in my socioeconomic status. But, the staff at Saks Fifth Naples treats me like every other customer which is something I really appreciate. read more

The personal attention and knowledge about Lancome products and the cosmetics that I purchased has never been demonstrated so well as it was at by my recent makeup application and purchase from Saks through associate Samantha Mitchell. She was extremely attentive and responsive to me and to the other customers who approached the counter during my recent purchase transaction. I have found THE place where I will exclusively make all of my future cosmetic purchases because of the service I received from her. read more

You would think that, with the prices in the "main" branch of SFA, that SERVICE would be a top priority. Sadly, since Saks has once again been bought out (Canadian) - there seems to be a total lack of morale, and a slimy veil of arrogance disguised as rudeness. I have been a customer of the SFA chain since the mid 1970's, and seen what has happened. No one cares. Collect small paycheck and go home. Sad. I have never seen such long faces, not even in a funeral home. The Saks branch in Naples (Waterside Shops) has a policy of not giving out shopping bags. Not even to a customer with an account. Some crazed manager must have come up with that silly idea. Apparently, they have a lot of theft? Not sure. But I have never been treated so rudely, and I will never enter that store again. I can shop at Nordstrom's, and I can go online 24/7. I almost had a stroke when I was told they don't give bags. I could have bought something and returned it and kept the bag! I was wearing Gucci and had on a $5,000 Rolex but I must have looked like a criminal, because I was most certainly made to feel like one. And I did buy a Cartier watch there once! I have shopped at the Saks Fifth Avenue in Naples, Florida at Waterside Shops for the past 12 years since I have lived in Florida. I have thoroughly enjoyed shopping at this location as I have gotten to know a few of the sales associates in the different departments (beauty, fashion, etc.). A few days before New Years Eve, I purchased a pair of Christian Louboutin 'Delcoltish 85 Suede Point-Toe Pumps' in a size 36.5 (6.5). I wore them on New Years Eve and they were very comfortable and flattering. The second time I ever wore these shoes was this past weekend when I was at my good friends birthday party in New York City. I was talking to a few old friends and I switched my footing, and I thought I stepped in a hole in the floor. When I looked down at my left shoe, I noticed that the heel had broken. Of course, I was very upset because I had just spent $700 for a pair of Christian Louboutin's that are supposed to last me forever but actually only lasted me for two wears. When I arrived back in Naples on Tuesday, I went back to Saks and the sales associate told me to go to the local shoe repair shop to get them repaired; She told me that they couldn't help me. Afterwards, I went to the shoe repair shop where they told me they could TRY to fix them. I was not going to take my shoes to a place that Saks uses that tells me they can only "try" to fix the heel on my shoe. After a few days, I returned to Saks and asked to speak with the shoe department manager, Jennifer, but unfortunately she was not there and the sales associate told me "she takes three days off at a time per week" and proceeded to give me her phone number and extension line. I left Jennifer a message that afternoon and she called me the next day to tell me to bring the shoes in to replace them which I was very happy about. When I went to the shoe department and Jennifer came to help me with my situation, she told me she would check if they still had the shoe in stock and if not, that she would order them from another location. When she came back she informed me that they did not have them in stock anymore, and also only 4 locations had the shoe. I told her that's fine, and to please order them from another location. She then proceeded to tell me, in her exact words, "there is only a 50 percent chance that you would actually get the shoes from the other location. If another customer wanted the shoe or there was a sale or event, then they would keep that shoe and sell it to that customer shopping at that location so essentially you would still be paying for the $700 shoes but there would be no guarantee of you actually receiving them." To any normal human being, this obviously doesn't make any sense whatsoever and I told her if I have paid $700 for shoes, I better be receiving those shoes, no matter where they are coming from. She gave me a $700 store credit after I told her that what she told me is bullshit and that I would never shop at that Saks location EVER again. As I began to leave, the sales associates actually started giggling and talking about what just happened to Jennifer as she rolled her eyes. I will never shop at this location again because of how they treated me. To me, and to everyone else I have told about this HORRIBLE customer service experience, I have never experienced such awful service from such a high luxury department store in my life. I am truly disappointed in this entire company. If you want to hire people that treat their customers in this manner, by all means, but I can assure you that you will not be in business for much longer. My family, as well as a lot of my friends know about this experience and will not shop at Saks ever again either. This shoe manager has truly ruined the good face of Saks Fifth Avenue to me as well as many others. read more
