I genuinely enjoy going to mass here. First, I want to begin by saying that Father Kleinmann was my priest when I was a little kid at Saint Michael's in Annandale, VA, so it is important to note that my review may be a bit biased, especially since he instilled an appreciation for the Catholic Faith as well as Favre and the "Green and Yellow" (he's a dedicated Packers fan).
The reasons why I appreciate this church:
- The pews are so wide, like getting "Even More Space" seating with JetBlue. I love having the ability to stretch out a bit after hours of driving in my Corolla.
- The location is really convenient and so close to Dulles Airport. Their location is very clutch if you want to attend mass before catching a flight or traveling for business.
- The parking situation, unlike some of the churches closer to DC, is so convenient. Plenty of spaces.
- The Sunday homilies, although a bit long, usually help me and my wife out later on in the week.
- 7 PM EST masses on Sat AND Sun with the warm Vietnamese Community provides convenience (in case I get caught up with the real estate business and/or NFL Red Zone) as well as a unique perspective that personally reinforced and strengthened my Catholic faith. The priest who does those masses is also nice enough to summarize and translate his homily from Vietnamese to English. I don't know who he is, but that guy is cool and as a guy who isn't Vietnamese, I appreciate that.
- Above all else... Everyone there is so freaking nice and welcoming. Personally, I kinda wish they offered the Sacrament of Penance during happy hour times (5-8 PM, M-F) but as far as churches go, I'm really happy there. read more
