Our family switched to SMS when our oldest was to transition to the middle school. For individual educational needs it was important for our child to be in a smaller class setting with consistent feedback between educators and parents where he would not be 'lost in the sea' of a very large 5th grade class. SMS offered exactly that. We also have another child who requires additional support through SPS but have successfully been able to navigate having our child attend SMS with services at the public school with the tremendous help and advocacy from SMS. There are teachers at SMS who are a shining light and will forever be a special memory in their primary school education. read more

Good school with some amazing teachers. Two of my kiddos attend Saint Mary's and love their classes. I'm happy with the updates and future plans for the School. it's a great environment for kids and families that want a smaller/ stronger community. read more

as a middle school parent, I was not pleased with my daughter's experience in middle school. not pointing fingers, but one specific teacher who assigns only reading projects that get the kids stressed out. also, she doesn't follow the writing curriculum, but still manages to give the kids a grade. on top of all that, she is extremely hard to work with and difficult, and overall lazy. she requires everything to be printed, and wont even bother to look in a book to see what kids wrote on a multiple choice paper, she makes them write it out. my kid comes home every day to complain about this teacher, and as a father it concerns me. so attention to st. Mary's school, you need to do something about this wicked teacher who has absolutely no reasoning or slight flexibility. not to mention she lets a certain kid pass out test and homework papers out with the grades on them so the student who passes out the paper knows all of the grades and they might not do this, but they could gossip about students grades that aren't so good. that's all because she sits and lazes around instead of preventing the bullying and gossip. also she has this idea where st Mary's is perfect and that absolutely no one is being bullied, but that's not true. although few teachers are kind and are the only reason that kids without active and rich/Karen parents can tolerate this school, the vast majority remain mean. this is just a review on one of many of the mean teachers, and if anything like this happens to my kid again, I'm gonna be back. -a parent who wants justice read more

History

Established in 1961.

Saint Mary School was established in 1961 by Father Lynch. He asked the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur to provide a parish school rich in educational excellence. Since its inception, the highly qualified and dedicated faculty and staff of Saint Mary School continue to maintain this high standard while educating and nurturing all aspects of a child's development intellectual spiritual interpersonal physical Curriculum and teaching methods are continually revised based on the latest educational research and technologies. We strive to build a strong academic foundation and to foster each student's development into successful and compassionate leaders of society.
