As with other reviewers, I really want to like this place. It's a great conversion of this old church and I think this area has an amazing future ahead.
On the night I visited this time round, there was a tremendous band playing, great if you didn't want to talk to your companion / friends. The food was a bit more miss than hit sadly. We were there around 8 on a Wednesday, so it's understandable that the menu might be a bit limited. On this particular night I could barely remember all the options that 'were aff'! Apparently they had had a busy day, maybe so, but this was a poor show.
The food itself was ok, I wouldn't write home about it, if that was something people did anymore. Burgers were served with a red slaw, which was extremely vinegary, but bizarrely without much taste. The club sandwiches are meant to have their own wee twist, being deep fried. This sounds extremely indulgent, but sadly it just meant it left an oily taste and a heavy stomach.
Hopefully there were just having a bad day, I'll give it one more go, but last chances only happen once! read more
