The aides are warm and caring and help my mother with her medicines as well as bathing and dressing. They also encourage her to participate in activities and check on her throughout the day. Its given me a secure feeling knowing that she is safe and taken care of at all times. They kept in excellent contact with our family throughout her stay, and my mother was very content there. The facility itself was always clean (no typical institutional smell) and they stayed on top of medications, kept her engaged with activities, and closely monitored and assisted with her food. Aside from that, during Covid, the steps they took and the frequent communication with families was exemplary. We could not have asked for more for our mother. My mother has been living at Maplewood for two years…read more Ultimately, I think that a facility such as this is only as good as the people that work there. I can say that to-date, the experience has been positive. The people at Maplewood are caring and dedicated; from the servers in the dining room to the nurses and front desk staff. The property is very comfortable and clean. The food is good. And, most importantly, the residents are happy and engaged. The staff does a great job in the day-to-day care and oversight of the residents. There are daily activities (on and off site), and they can arrange for transportation to doctor appointments, etc. My best advice is to visit Maplewood and take a tour.

After having a very difficult respite experience at another facility last year, I was extremely nervous about trying again. As a caregiver, leaving someone you love in the care of others is not easy. From the moment we walked into Putnam Ridge, I felt a difference. We were warmly welcomed, the facility was clean and smelled clean, the residents were well cared for, and everyone we encountered was friendly and spoke to us. I talked to my mom almost every day while I was away, and hearing how strong and comfortable she sounded gave me a sense of peace I did not have last year. For the first time, I was actually able to relax on vacation knowing my mom was safe and being cared for. To the staff of the Apple Memory Care Unit, thank you for caring for my mom and for giving this caregiver something just as valuable: PEACE OF MIND. Through this pandemic when everyone was kept out, we were kept in formed and we know that she felt safe. Although she does not know who we are, she knows she is loved. she was petrified to leave her home for decades and lose all she loved. Because they took the care to find out who she was and what she liked, they balanced family visits and healthcare with letting her know that this was her home. What was not good was the care my husband received. I was there every other day, and I left each day dissatisfied with his care on the "ward". Also I paid for PT and OT services 5 days a week each. They did not give that care. He was lucky to see either of them a couple times a week. I complained but it did not change. AND I was billed for all the days that he did not get care. By the time he left the facility, he was so weak that he could barely stand. It took a month of at-home services to recover from the inactivity while he was in the facility
