Not only do they place a wonderful emphasis on values and personal growth, the academic program is solid and backed by committed teachers. Our child is happy to go to school every morning! We have benefited very much from the small classroom sizes and the diversity of the student body (Catholic and non-Catholics, international, African American, Hispanic etc.) and teacher corp. I've been a member of the Washington Ethical Society for several years, and it's been a great…read moreexperience. As a lifelong atheist, I never saw any particular point in attending weekly services, and I didn't feel that I was lacking in community. I started attending WES because a friend of mine was explaining the benefits she saw in church attendance for her daughter, and I realized that I thought it would be good for the kids to be part of a multi-generational community with shared values. What really grabbed me about WES is the great platform addresses (what might be sermons in a Christian church) given by Amanda, the clergy leader. She is a hoot! Had an event here, and the "coordinators" were condescending and rude. Parking is horrendous, and…read moredon't expect to have the place to yourself even if you rent it out. Dealing with the event coordinators was horrific. Not only were they unorganized and rude, they took it upon themselves to help themselves to the food and drink. I would not recommend having a private event here.
