This does differ from the other in the area in that it does sturggle for car spaces having only about 10-12 spaces available and at peak times you quite often have to wait for others to pull out of spaces for you to go in. On the other hand people rarely spend mor ethan 2-3 minutes in this shop it seems and the turnaround is very quick. There is always food on the shelves and staff who are all very friendly are constantly refilling them. One other downside is that it is rather expensive probably because of its 'conveniance' nature and it does generally seem to add 20% to the price of a regular tesco store.

It's like most other Tesco stores around the country and sells all the items one would hope to buy in an express store. There are times when they do seem very low on stock - the other day I went in the morning and there was absolutely no 2ltr milk, nothing, not even one. The fresh bakery section needs more items and a larger range but other than that, it's ok. The service can be slow at peak times but there are also 4 self-service counters available should you want to use them. There is a self-service coffee machine which serves Costa Coffee as well, though it can be pain to get it then have to wait in line to pay - surely a pay at the machine option should be available!? Overall, a convenient Tesco for your needs and lunch should you require it - I go because it's on the way to work.

There are a few located in Birmingham, this one is not the biggest but has necessaries. They are usually busy and fresh meat and milk do get cheaper before they close because they will go out of date. They dont have a reward system like other supermarkets like Sainsbury but they are generally cheap and the things in here are authentic and are really nice. They dont have a rating of how spicy they are unlike sainsburys though but recommended.

Tesco describes this as "a change of consumer shopping habits", this is a change with all of their Tesco Metro stores which have been changed into Tesco Express or Tesco Superstore locations. This is probably the best supermarket in the city centre in terms of size and overall selection, I did find the stock to be a little depleted, especially on the Ground Floor with some shelves almost empty, but I do understand the shortages going on right now are causing harm to supermarkets, I hope and trust they are trying their best. It is over two floors, I personally want to get in and out of a store as quick as I can, especially with Tesco Express stores which are Tesco's answers to "convenience" stores, having to wait for a lift/escalator is just not a grab and go quick experience. The checkout area seemed a little messy, and the staff didn't seem too interested. It would be great to see a mobile scanning and payment system implemented here, which makes the overall experience much quicker and more consumer-centric, similar to what Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencer now offer, at their nearby location(s). It's also great to grab a work lunch or something for dinner in the evening. At the weekends I'm a big fan of their 2 for £10 deal which includes a main, side, desert and bottle of wine for £10. This offers is always available and clearly signposted in the fridge section. Plus it saves of cooking and ain't nobody got time for that.

I remember the stigma that was attached to discount supermarkets when I was younger and the shame of having "non branded" crisps in your lunchbox at school, well, I certainly feel that a lot has changed and these stores are now a viable option to get great quality, cheaper food (and drink) options. This branch is actually my favourite. I know, it's weird having a favourite branch of Aldi, but when we can't get to market on a weekend we have a plethora of Aldi's and Lidl's around us to choose from. This one (just by Cannon Hill park) is always tidy, clean and tends to have the items we need in stock (rather than other branches which seem to run out of things). I always find it really funny to see how many Mercedes, Jag's and high end cars are parked in the car park of this branch. Clearly the discount supermarket is no longer a taboo! As well as the usual choice of fruit, veg and meat you will find lots of speciality items here. With everything from award winning wines and champagnes to a great selection of baking paraphernalia and season items in stock, if you're anything like me you'll usually spend more than you bargained for! Again, this is my favourite branch of Aldi in Birmingham. If you are looking for a way to cut down the cost of the weekly shop or just get a picnic in before visiting Cannon Hill, you could do much worse than popping in and seeing what these guys have in stock.

But in all seriousness Aldi really has managed to shake off the stigma it once had by continuing to stock good quality items at slightly lower prices than the big supermarkets. Especially with the 'super 6' offers and weekly offers on meat that often beat the big supermarkets measly 20p off by a country mile. Aldi is great for the vast majority of things but it's quite rare that we can do an entire weekly shop there, unfortunately some items we can only get at our local supermarket that shall remain nameless. That being said their selection of beers is great (and lets face it, it's what we're all here for!), with several ales, weissbier, pilsner and a few other bits and pieces as well all coming in at £1.25 or less per bottle - bargain! Just make sure you take some carrier bags to reuse, they will charge you!

It's not too big and not too small and it has everything you would want. And of course now with the discounters around their prices are getting better too. I'm particularly delighted with the fact that they have a petrol station as well. This has forced the current incumbents (Esso) to reduce their prices too. Plus with every pound you spend with your reward card you collect fuel points, which has allowed us to save a lot on fuel. The deli selection is very different too and they even sell freshly made pancakes!
