The Sainsburys in Castle Vale is all part of the shopping centre at the top of the Chester Road, just down from the Spitfire roundabout and up from Castle Vale's High Street.
It is a clean, large, well-lighted space, and a nice place to do one's weekly shopping. There are cash machines out front, and all the things one can expect from a grocery store -- large bakery counter, deli, meat counter, fishmonger, etc.
This Sainsbury's was recently renovated, and is really rather nice inside. There is a very large books/magazines/tobacconist area to the right when you walk in that is a nice touch.
The cafe is really big, and the food is nice and cheap, but pretty tasty. Often, when taking a break from Uni, we'd duck in here for a quick treat or even for full lunch, instead of heading to the chip shop (ewewew). The staff are always polite.
Sainsbury's is my favourite grocery store in the UK, because they are UK-based, are not trying to take over America (Tesco), do not exploit thousands of tiny children (Asda), and do not have ghetto green and white floors (Morrison's).
It doesn't have to make sense, it's just my opinion! read more
