I thought the store looked pretty nice and welcoming from the outside, but the interior was much different, the store appeared to be cramped and outdated, it was hard to walk down the aisles as the store struggled to cope with having a good number of people inside, pretty much forcing you to walk at their speed due to the lack of any width (especially to support shopping trolleys!), this isn't a problem at Tesco or Sainsbury's nearby, so I do think they need to do more to make the aisles wider or remove trolleys altogether as they aren't fit for purpose in such a small store, the size of a slightly larger than the average Tesco Express or Marks and Spencer Food store. The staff seemed pretty rude, including the security guard who was constantly walking in front of customers, not watching where he was going or paying any respect to his surroundings, he also seemed his best to try and intimidate innocent shoppers, without doing much else. The selection was OK for a store of its' size, apart from it being cramped. I also don't like how ALDI seem to only have a small number of checkouts and no self-service checkouts, which isn't ideal if like me, you only want a handful of items and not a big shop... at least add a fast lane! 2* - Pretty messy overall but does add a little variety in terms of supermarket choice in Sale town centre, and it does look the best in terms of the exterior in comparison to most other shops in the area.

The facilities are poor, for example, this is one of the few larger Tesco stores not to have Scan As You Shop, the to-go food and drink range which is normally extensive was worse than a store of half its' size, they didn't have a coffee machine (again the only time I've seen a medium or larger store not to have one), many of the to-go drinks were also in the cupboard, as these are drinks you'd often pick as they're ready to drink, it was annoying they weren't keeping them cold. The selection overall was pretty poor, many shelves seemed rather depleted. I much prefer the larger Sainsbury's store nearby, and will probably give this Tesco store a miss in the future, unless there's a Tesco branded item I want to buy and would hope is actually sold here. 2*

The first time I went in there and bought a similar amount of fresh veg I found it hard to conceal my delight at the price. So hard in fact that one of the brothers asked me if I had expected it to cost me more! I have never bought my veg from Morrisons since. For a relatively small store they sell a wide range of produce (about 8 different types of mushrooms, 10 different types of potatoes etc) and I have never been disappointed with the quality. OK, so I definitely wouldn't eat any of the veg without giving it a good wash first, as it is often a bit grubby and has been sitting outside on a main road all day, and the shelf life isn't as good as supermarket veg. But give me a grubby misshapen apple over a polished supermarket apple any day! The brothers themselves are friendly and hard-working. My housemates often used to chat to them, and they seem to know their regular customers really well. Inside the shop there is a well-priced selection of herbs and spices, rice, couscous and pulses as well as the not so well-priced English essentials such as boxes of PG Tips and cans of Coke. To every Chorltonite's delight the opening of a brand new Tesco Express opposite the store doesn't seem to have harmed their business in the slightest. Long live Khawaja Brothers! Whether you're concocting a katsu curry or just seeking out some seasonal salad, you can do no wrong by making a beeline for this little place because it's fresh, it changes with the seasons, it has more ethnic ingredients than you can possibly pile into your plastic bag, and perhaps given the first three the most appealing factor... it's almost obscenely inexpensive. I was introduced to this spot by a good friend who waxed lyrical about Pakistani mangoes, also known as 'honey' mangoes. These are orbs of pure deliciousness, sold in handy boxes of 6 for £4.50. They taste like they should be twice that price. Keep them in your fridge and peel them at breakfast time, you shan't be disappointed. In other bargainous news, a recent offer had me reeling with incredulity - surely they weren't selling entire crate-like boxes of tomatoes on the vine? Check my pictures. Yes indeedy they were. Also, their giant dates are just exquisite. Once inside you can get tons of dry ingredients for any kind of world cooking you can imagine, loads of types of flour, rice, pulses... the list is endless. And on top of all that there are exotic fruit drinks and Halal Haribo. Yes, it exists! I'm more than happy to make the journey to Chorlton to grab some essentials (and indulgences) from here, the service is friendly and the location can't be beaten - right near Unicorn? It's a veritable shop-local bonanza!

I like how their handheld scanners are easy to use, to scan as you shop around the store, they seem to be much newer than other Waitrose stores, making them easier to use - It would be a great idea if they fixed their app in order to support scanning on mobile phones, similar to what is on offer at ASDA and Sainsbury's. The staff in-store seemed friendly and happy to help, the product range is good, they had a wide selection of products in most areas, including a great saving on certain items including Pizza Express' gluten-free pizzas which were on offer at £2.50, considering the price is normally £4.50 at Sainsbury's and £5 on Ocado, this is a great saving. 4* - Good, modern supermarket with a decent selection of products, one of the better supermarkets in Altrincham, it is a shame it isn't closer to the town centre and the bus network isn't too reliable, I do also think the checkout areas could have been better laid out, but all in all a good store.

This is a good Sainsbury's supermarket, serving Urmston town centre, located in Eden Square…read more Despite not being the largest or most modern Sainsbury's store around, the store and its' facilities are good, including an Argos, Lloyds Pharmacy and a Starbucks. I was disappointed by certain ranges in store, importantly the Free From range which was very depleted and lacked any real selection, which is not usually what one would expect from Sainsbury's. The checkout area is well set out, for manned and self-service checkouts, with all self-service checkouts supporting the SmartShop app where you can scan and bag items as you're walking around the store. The store's car park is shared by the Eden Square shopping centre, and parking is free for up to three hours, but you may have to park a short walk away from your car compared to other Sainsbury's stores. 3* - I'm sure this is a very useful and appreciated store by residents in the town of Urmston, even though it may not meet Sainsbury's standards in some ways, it is still a good store that I would return to if I'm in the area.

The store is well equipped and air conditioned with lots of friendly staff that are encouraging us to use the automated self service check-outs to pay for our items. I love that they try to keep packaging to a minimum, using paper bags for the fresh vegetables. There is a huge range of vegetarian products (more tofu than you could ever need...if that's even a thing), seitan and tempeh in all different forms. I love how their dried foods are all packaged in simple bags with their label on....gotta love no fuss packaging. There is also a deli counter ranging from olives, onion bhajis and daals. I tried an onion bhaji and it was amazing. Although pricier than most supermarkets, I thought the prices were reasonable (being used to Wholefoods etc. in London) for organic, fresh produce and I love that it is a co-operative. I would definitely rather pay more for local produce that isn't mass-produced. I will definitely be shopping here regularly.

Amazed by this place…read more I haven't seen anywhere like it since my travels to Portland. It has a real community atmosphere. Everyone involved, from the growers to the staff to the people shopping, care and it really shows. It's honest. It's exactly where you want to buy your vegetables. There's soil on the fresh produce. Actual soil. No cellophane, no unnecessary packaging, no nonsense - just tasty, local food. The shelves are clearly labelled and well stocked with interesting offerings. They have your staples - potatoes, all the usual veg, cereals, spices, fruits as well as some more unusual choices when/if it's in season. Prices are reasonable and when you pay you feel like you're contributing - something you never experience in a chain supermarket. There's a play area for kids and free apples to keep them occupied - with a little compost bin for the cores. A big green thumbs up.

Admittedly, you won't be able to get hold of rocket or starfruits or anything else particularly exotic but it's definitely a perfect source of your standard fruit and veg in Sale Moor village. It's on the main road in Sale Moor but there is limited parking available on the road outside for popping in.

The staff are very pleasant and professional and always willing to help. There is a small car park which can get very busy. It is easily reachable as it stands on the main A56 road. There is a good range of fresh food. The fruit and vegetables are always top quality. The shelves are well stocked. There are always some fresh flowers which are great if you need to pop in to buy a quick bunch. This is a great branch of M&S and very convenient.

I've shopped at sofresh on a number of occasions. My most recent purchase was a bag of plums -…read moreprobably 10 or 12 juicy purple plums for £1. The only problem was that this purchase was something of a contradiction. They were so unfresh. On the day of purchase most of them were already past their best and were brown on the inside. On this occasion I also bought three large sweet potatoes for £1. Only they didn't turn out to be the sweet potatoes that I know and love. They were white inside. I think they were yams. However, they do have a lot going for them. Firstly they always have free samples of the fresh fruit outside the front of the store including delicious pineapple and sweet honeydew melon. Secondly they try to source locally grown produce when possible. Thirdly sofresh is bloody good value, and even if you have to chuck a couple of squishy brown avocadoes away out of a bag of 5, it's still much cheaper than Morrisons.
