I agree with the other reviewer that the place is big, but apart from the extended clothing are the other aisles have the same quantity and choice you would find at any other store. The difference is the wider aisles and more spacious approach to the checkouts. The feeling of space is continued by the ceiling height. Now my only downside is the inability of staff to be empowered to make a different decision and this IS symptomatic for large organisations. Arrived at 11:35 for breakfast having completed the shopping. Breakfast finishes at 11:30, I am told, as I cannot locate the menu. No option to bend the rules, or ask the chef if he'd accommodate. Result Sainsbury's lose 4 for breakfast. Not the greatest lost to them in the scheme of things. Would we ever return? No. Made our way to Chiquitas where their breakfast finishes at 12:00 (noon). Arrived at 12:05. I asked if we were too late for breakfast. Greeted with the answer, that everything is possible, and not any issue. Also, over the lunchtime option to provided free refills for the kids too. Will I return to give them repeat business? Yes I will. So after a few visits to this Sainsburys, I now feel ready and able to review it properly! This store is just huge!!! Its located on the new Longbridge High Street - which is really awesome!! They have a huge car park which gives three hours free parking and a little sign to tell you what time you're free parking expires. Inside you get your trolley and head up the Gladiators (90s TV show) travelator to the store! Trolleys don't move though so no racing! :( As you can expect, there is everything in here....cafe, kiosk, TVs, Clothing, Home appliances, cook wear and all the seasonal items you expect. As well as a large selection of food. They do have quite a few clearance areas, so look out for your bargains! The freezer section isn't as big as other supermarkets but the alcohol section is huge! Its one of many large Sainsbuys supermarkets in the South West Birmingham area - is it the best? Contenders decide on my first whistle! Gladiators on my second! read more

The Sainsburys store is one of the anchor tenants of the new look Longbridge, and was one of the first to open. To sum it up in one word, HUGE! Its a modern design supermarket with undercroft car parking and one of those travelator style shopping trolley ramps. The benefit of this is that on rainy days, theres no walking from the store to car whilst getting soaked, or frantically trying to get the shopping into the boot whilst the rain pours down. The layout of the supermarket is clean and airy, with nicely laid out aisles and lots of different produce available. There's also a good homeware and clothing section too. I like this supermarket a lot, and even though I find Sainsburys to be a little on the expensive side, its a place I choose to go when I only need a few specific bits and pieces. read more
