We have been shopping at this Sainsburys at Knocknagony for some years. A large store with plenty of space to quietly do the shopping and it also has a large Car Park. Staff are generally polite but you do get the odd one, young and old, who just don't like to be disturbed, or be asked to do the job they are there to do.
We had two instances yesterday. Firstly, there were lots of items of clothing in the sale. We picked four items of clothing, costs ranging from £9 for a Women's Top to £1 for a little Girl's Skirt. We paid for them, along with our regular Shopping, and then went to the Restaurant for two Teas and a plate of Chips. The Cash Terminal there was not working and the Cashier Girl told us to have our Tea and come back later. The Terminal was not working 45 mins later so we asked to pay the bill. She said £4.80 and I gave her £10. She went to get change, gave me the balance, and at that point I asked her how the £4.80 was made up? Two Teas @ £1.20 each plus £2.40 for the plate of Chips! I pointed to the prices on the wall and said that Chips was only £1.40! Ah well, she said, I'll have to get you another Pound. And that is what she did. No apology of any kind, or even a smile!
Secondly, while sitting in the Restaurant I looked at our Shopping Bill, and found that we had been charged £4.80 for the little Girl's skirt that had been reduced to £1. The Price Tag said clearly that it was reduced. The Lady at the Customer Service Desk took the item, checked the item and the Price Tag very carefully, then checked it again on her Computer, and then almost ordered me to put my Card into the Machine! Then without a word, she gave us back the dress and the Original Receipt, and then turned to the Customer behind us. It was only when I interrupted them and asked for the Credit Receipt that she found it on her desk and gave it. Again, no apologies, no smile, no sign of any sort!
It wasn't even the rush hour! There were only two Customers at the Till both times. So, can't say they were that busy either!
