The staff member repeatedly stated that my items were not available simply because they were not on the shelves, even though they were in fact being held for me. Another staff member later came out to add items to the shelves. I located all of my items immediately, which confirmed that the holds were indeed there. After retrieving my items, the employee stated I could check them out and directed me to handle the checkout myself. I refused to walk over to scan my card and check myself out. Especially, while I'm standing directly in front of an employee who has refused to get up once to look for my items or assist me in a timely manner. Given the circumstances, I expected at least a basic level of service. I have been a patron of the Fort Worth Public Library for many years. I've never had an issue with a staff member until now. This was my first interaction with this particular staff member. If she is assigned to this branch location, I hope she learns to be more professional!
