Good service, selection, and value from an independent gun store. A bit of a rarity these days.read more

Really good store. Had a few guns ordered to him for me to pick up. Every time I've needed to go in…read moreto the shop, everything went great. Really knows his stuff and even had some fairly priced .303 Brit which I needed as well. Will be a constant customer as long as I can.

I recently moved home from another state, and finding a competent gunsmith was tough as all the…read more"Old Timers" I once did business with were either dead or retired. I took a chance with a minor job with Ricochet. I am assuming this business is under new ownership / management. I had inherited a custom rifle in a wildcat cartridge, and I needed a chamber cast to verify the chamber dimensions. I dropped the rifle off last summer and was told it would be about 6 weeks for them to get at it. Sure enough, the job was done in the specified time. I was even given a Veterans discount. Why only a 4 star rating? This job was fairly straightforward and simple, nothing to bring out the "Wow Factor". But I would be comfortable returning with a more in depth job in the future, such as a rifle build.

I had a Beretta and it had a very tight trigger, so I brought it in. Left it there about 4-5 weeks…read moreto make the trigger easier to pull for me. They charged 150.00 (!) and fixed it a little but not all the way. Wish I would have looked around a little more.

Ok. This is my new favorite store…read more I was looking for travel related gear for an extended trip that would accommodate my minimalist travel style. Hooray for The Base Camp and their phenomenally trained staff. Expectations exceeded! The people were knowledgeable, looked up information when I couldn't find the exact thing I wanted, offered to order something not in stock, but could get from their store in Denver, and then let me explore other inventory. They also made it clear I was under no obligation to buy what they ordered if I changed my mind. No deposit, no restocking fee. Nothing. Available for answering questions, the employees didn't follow me around the store like I was going to steal something (well, maybe one person did on my second visit), give unsolicited commentary on every item I picked up, or attempt to drag me to every other similar, and more expensive, item. As my trip gets closer, I'll be back here to pick up those last minute miscellany. And, because The Base Camp has things for every type of outdoor adventure, it'll be an easy stop without the big-box hassles for future trips.

In a March 26' add there was a Pistol and accessories on sale. The day the sale started, I went…read moreinto purchase it. They had none and said they had no idea when they would arrive. I was unhappy, but got a rain check. I checked in for two more weeks and got the same answer. I asked the manager (nice woman) for a corporate number. I called and left messages 3 times and was never called back by him. Instead after the third call, a person I didn't contact called and said they have the issue figured out and it would be 2-3 weeks and I'd have my pistol. Today I get a call and the man (very pleasant) told me that my rain check had expired and they weren't going to be getting them and I was out of luck. I am very disappointed and discouraged with their lies, deceit and lack of professionalism.

Happened upon this little gem on a road trip and I spent far too long obsessing over this beautiful…read moreshop and the goodies inside. The owners were personable, knowledgeable, and kind. I think that the charm of the place comes with personality, if you cannot follow directions (ringing a doorbell, respecting someones store that they have put 45+ years into curating), im sorry for your loss. If you can, i highly recommend stopping by, and for sure-- set some time aside to do so:-)

I decided to leave it, and set it back on its shelf. The owner then came over and started scolding me like I was a child for playing the music box. I apologized, but he started yelling at me and continued to follow me and my family through the store and berate us. At one point my mother put her hand slightly up and told him "we get it, we understand," and that is when he started to get aggressive, started yelling even more loudly at us, and he put his hand aggressively in my face. I did not feel safe, and I told him "we are happy to leave" and my family and I left as he continued to become more agitated. It was actually very shocking, uncomfortable, and disappointing. I would not recommend any woman shop in this store, alone or with others, and that any men who respect women not shop here either.
