She unfortunately got injured and couldn't style anymore, so I was in a bit of a panic to find a new person. I know it's just hair, but I was nervous as hell to try new places. I tried a couple of places in Kelowna and Vernon from recommendations, and there really wasn't one that fit. Enter Jenny! She also came by recommendation by a good friend. Jenny was totally awesome and down to earth when I met her. Definitely found my right fit! I have long, thick, straight hair, and I love it layered. She layers it so it sits nicely, looks full, but weighs so much less. I'm always given the option to straighten or curl as a style afterwards, and I used to be terrified of the curl, but now, it's my favourite treat! I love the Aveda product quality, and their scents are just amazing!
Post-COVID, I found the environment comfortable, and they made adjustments to make the experience reassuring. While an extra fee isn't ever fun to pay, in this case, I certainly don't mind. They were shut down for ages, and then needed to implement new protocols to meet requirements. I get that it's "all a part of business", and everyone has taken a hit, but this is not an insurmountable ask, and businesses are not able to recoup costs from the long closures, decreased traffic, and increased cleaning costs. They are transparent with their cleaning fee. They could have easily just increased the price of their services instead. I am thankful for the transparency.
