I am giving this office a good review only because of Dr Hartman, who did my root canal. This was my only visit to the Pompano office. I see other reviews and I do agree with most when it comes to Sage and the office I did other dental work at (East Fort Lauderdale). But as mentioned, in this case, this is a review of the Pompano office and I was really satisfied with the treatment I received from Dr Hartman. He was recommended to me by the "general dentist" in another office as a doctor that will solve my root canal problem. I made an appointment and was there on time. I waited maybe 10-15 minutes to be put in a chair. I didn't have to wait on the doctor doing 10 other things, I got the attention my tooth required. Obviously I am not a dentist so I don't know if the work done was good but I can tell that his "bedside" manners were great and entire time he was checking on me, made sure I feel no pain and pep talked after hearing that I am not a big fan of dental work (read sometimes scared). read more

To piggyback off my previous comment, I went in and Dr Dennis was exceptional at hearing my complaints and seeing that my needs were met and that I got some relief. The Pompano Beach office really tried to make my experience better. I really appreciate their efforts. And it wasn't a piece of tooth left behind. It was the bone because I had a dry socket, which was no ones fault. I was out of mind in pain. I just wish that someone from Dr Margolis' staff would have reached out and listened. read more

This place is amazing , I got my wisdom teeth done here by Dr Margolis. One of the best oral surgeons I know . and I have had an amazing experience! I always get my cleanings done here and it is always perfect and seamless and the front staff is amazing . This was a new dentist for me. Arrived on time with recent x rays in hand. I must tell you I am extremely tense with anxiety with any dental procedure. I require Nitrous to relax and sit comfortable. This is how I have been all my life. I chose Sage because the offer this. Ready fur my cleaning. No. Nitrous even though this appointment was scheduled with nitrous. I left. Next visit same story. Next visit same story but they convinced me to try cleaning without Nitrous. It was terribly uncomfortable anxiety discomfort etc. ok 6 month pass and I schedule another cleaning with nitrous. I was given a call to confirm. I ask that they have the nitrous ready. Ok was the answers. Guess what got to my appointment no nitrous even though it was confirmed . Next appointment same story. I'm gonna review 2 categories: Hygienist: Claudia is great, very thorough and explains your treatment in great detail and why you need it. She is 5 out of 5 Dentist: As several have mentioned, dentists come and go like a revolving door, I don't like that. Currently, I have Dr. Arguelles. She did a pin buildup for me and finishing with a crown. Her hands are rock steady, light touch like a pianist. I tried SO HARD to let this end in a good way. Dr. Arguelles decided it was important to have a LOUD conversation with 2 assistants on the merits of giving birth in the hood, instead of keeping the area QUIET and PROFESSIONAL, she slipped and ripped an instrument into my mouth causing terrible pain and swelling. SAGE Dental in Pompano is not the place for stories form the hood and making babies, its a DENTAL OFFICE, and I had to pay the price with my well being. read more

5 star isn't enough how bout 20 stars My veneer I had for 10 years suddenly popped OUT while eating and hurricane is apon us .. MY FRONT TOOTH No less just came out at lunch ! I'm new to the pompano area and just googled dentist near me .. and I found this miracle dental office along with a very gracious understanding Dentist named Dr Estrada ! They took me in immediately! Dr Estrada and his sweet assistant had compassion and they knew what immediately to do ! Being said entire staff was very professional from the desk staff to the dental assistant. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE ELSE!!! They upsell you everything, felt high pressure sales on every service. Went with tooth pain, they tell me I need a root canal, did that. Got the Crown. Pain never went away...now they want to extract the tooth and put in an implant...and pay for that too. They WAY overcharged me for the crown, when I asked why, they said they used premium materials and cost an extra $500. Now 2 months later, they want to take it out and start over with an extraction. I swear they only want the money and will do every procedure they can to get it from you. I am finding dentist that will help me, not just drain me. read more

I chose to go to Sage Dental because they offered a VIP plan for those of us who don't have insurance...retirees. It is a total scam. Do Not use this plan. They cleaned half of my mouth which I've never experienced before. Half cleaning??? Then told me the other half would be $160 on top of the $199 for the plan. Awful!! I've paid $160 for full mouth elsewhere without any plan. They lead you to believe you will get 2 free healthy or periodontal cleanings a year. They've recently added the words per quadrant in the ad but it wasn't there previously. I clearly never would have joined if I had understood their scam. Please do not be fooled. read more

Very disappointed with this office. This place is a big ripe off. PLEASE make sure you carefully review your bill. They will automatically upcharge each tooth $350-450 without informing you. They tell everyone they need a deep cleaning. When they only need a routine clean that's most likely free. Be aware they charge every patient a $10 fee for PPE. I don't have a problem paying the money. The problem I have is. That they use the SAME PPE for every patient. They charge every patient $10 for the same PPE. Can you say COVID-19 and FRAUD. The whole point of the PPE is for covid-19. If you're going to use it for all your patient then don't charge. The next very important concern I have is. BE AWARE they DO NOT wash their hands. I have to ask the dentist and the assistant to wash their hands. Each time I watch them go patient to patient and only change their gloves. You can get all kinds of infections like this. I spoke with the office manager about this. She said sorry I wasn't aware that they were not changing the PPE and not washing their hand. I will have a meeting and discuss these concerns. I went back and the same practice is still going on. Same PPE and not washing hands. Brenda (assit mang) cancelled my appt and did not inform me. I arrived on time for my appt and was told i didn't have a appt. I showed Brenda the text from the office. She said it was a computer error. I never had a appt. I was so upset because I wrote down the appt and they text. BOY I WAS PISSED. PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU GO TO THIS OFFICE P.S. They will drain your pockets. I wrote a letter on yelp after a visit to sage dental, pompano, a very dissatified customer, a Danielle C. responded but left no phone number, tried calling everywhere, nobody, after all their so called patient care and knowledge, did anyone bother to call me back. Please do not waste your money, they told me I needed to pull out an existing implant when all along it was the tooth next to the implant, and get this at a cost of $6,000 dollars. I made the mistake of making my office visit without reading all the reviews. Do your homework before visiting any dentist office. I reviewed my insurance benefits and they only cover partial X-rays. This office requires full mouth for new patients. When I refused to pay an additional fee they waved the fee. Then when it came to my cleaning they wanted to give me a deep cleaning which would have been another $150 out of pocket. I can go to another dentist and get the same cleaning with no out of pocket fee. They claimed I needed 4 crowns when I only need 2. Everything is an up sale there. Take your business some where else. I will not be going back. Adding an update to my review. I received a bill almost 2 months later for $80. After I specifically made it clear I would not do any work that would cost me additional fees and confirmed before I left the office that I did not have a bill. That is very shady... read more

First, these Sage Dental facilities have younger/less-experienced employees. Enough said. LOTS of unnecessary cuts/scratches from their dental equipment, due to inexperienced employees & 11 visits for 2 crowns b/c their resources are terrible. Second, they tell you about procedures you "must" have that you actually DONT need. And they will try to up-sell you on crowns you don't need. Third, they will tell you that your insurance won't cover procedures & charge you a "special" priceinstead, then they turn around & go ahead & charge your insurance, so they end up making TWICE the amount! Here's the deal with Gental Dental Pompano. It's run like an assembly line. You're in and out pretty quickly, but the care is really impersonal and you're lucky if you get more than a few minutes with the actual dentist before they're off helping another patient--it typically seems they are waiting on four patients at a time. One of the assistants(a Spanish woman whose name I don't remember) is kind of rude, and frankly unsanitary. She actually picked up her cell phone after having her hands in my mouth, and then tried to put them back in my mouth. Seriously gross. Her "cleaning" of the exam room area after they were done with me left a lot to be desired. In fact I've seen bus boys spend more time wiping down a table. Dr. Davis is nice enough but quite frankly she's way over booked. I was told I needed two root canals/crowns on my first visit. After that, they tell me I need two more root canals/crowns, and possibly two more after that--they're not sure yet(huh?). So here I am on treatment plan number two, and they're telling me there will probably be a third. At this point I've already spent $4500 and they're telling me I'm looking at another $8k! Forget that, I went and got a second opinion and was shocked to learn I don't need anymore root canals, and only one more crown. Gentle Dentals answer to the slightest problem seems to be root canal/crown. The doctor and assistant that did the root canals did an excellent job--very sanitary and professional. I was happy with them, but I would not go back to this company ever again. UPDATE: Three years later and one of the two crowns I received from Gentle Dental became infected and had to be extracted. It's going to cost me over $3k for the extraction/implant to fix this. I have other crowns in my mouth that are way older, so I'm going to chalk this up to either the shoddy dental work, or the fact that they use cheap crowns that have metal on the inside. My porcelain and gold crowns are fine, so I fear for the other metal one I have. read more

Do not go to this dentist. They are thieves. All they care about is your money. If your insurance company covers 2 cleanings a year, they will say you need four, so they can get your money. They will also offer services and lie that your insurance company may cover and then you receive a $1,000 bill in the mail later. They are the worst dental company I have worked with. I was just so happy to find a dentist office that was on my new insurance program that was close to home. The appointment making process was nice, simple and easy. The staff was friendly. All things that I appreciate;) My ONLY complaint is that I felt like I was being "upsold" on everything. I KNOW it was a great appointment as far as clean teeth - xrays etc - I just didn't think I'd be spending all the money I did that day - I thought because I now have dental insurance it would cost less than going to my previous dentist - which it did not. read more

Called for appt on Friday got a recording, told staff, need cleaning, x ray, possible filling, please allow time for that ...Brittany returned my call, got my voice mail I returned call on Tuesday, spoke to Rick, he told me as follows " NO, you would be a new patient, the dentist would give you an examination, then HE would determine what is wrong with you. (I thought to myself, dont you think a person knows when they need their teeth cleaned) I said, thanks anyway, he said, "Sure, no problem", I hung up phone I then, thought this over, I had planned this for my day off, I called back in half hour, got female staff, asked for Brittany, was told no such person worked there...I said, she left a message, for me to call and confirm , again I was told , she does not work there. Staff told me, "Are you sure you have right office, I replied "How do you think I got the number" She told me, really I should go to Deerfield office, I said, which one, "She answered, "SIR, WE HAVE TWO, WE HAVE OFFICES ALL OVER FLORIDA, WHICH OFFICE DO YOU WANT? Needless to say I just hung up, I have never visited the office, and will avoid it. What an introduction. I really do not blame the staff, they are probably over worked.... I had to get some emergency treatment, root canal and crown, I was able to get an appointment the same day I called in, I was in terrible pain, I looked around at pricing and while the prices are not cheap by any means they are very competitive and in line with what most other dentists quoted me on the treatment I needed. The staff was very helpful and the doctors were excellent, the root canal I was not looking forward to, but Dr. Hartman did an awesome job and the root canal did not hurt at all and it was done very quickly. I still have to go back in April to get the final crown, and some follow up. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. read more

THE WORST! It's too bad that the dentist herself seems great but their service is TERRIBLE. I've given it two chances due to convenience but they keep either canceling my appointment or saying I missed it. Today I had an 11AM appointment. When I arrived five minutes early I was told my appointment was at 10:30am. Strongly not suggest this place. Last year I went there for my my two crowns, at first they show me the estimate as $500, and when I was done, I was shown an invoice of $1200! and besides that, the crown fell over only 2 weeks after installation. Plus, even after I paid off all these ridiculous charges, they still sending me bills for over $700 and cannot give me a clear itemized bill. Well, I would give this lower than a one star if I could. Biggest rip-off ever!!!!! They reviewed my insurance coverage first, them decided I needed a "deep cleaning" because they said most of the bill it would be covered the Met Life, my dental insurer. They hit me with a $225 charge at the office, Met Life paid $600, then they sent me a balance bill for $156 which Met Life did not cover. So, almost $1000 for a CLEANING!!! As many others I also should have reviewed yelp and others to find out the poor reviews from this de tal office . In August 2017 I went for a routine cleaning and checkup , had no issues and had been to my old dentist 1 Year prior where I was told my teeth were fine . I went to sage because I moved to pompano a needed a new dentist After my xrays the dentist informed me that I needed 2 caps because my 2 back molars were leaking from an old fill . I was told to do it right away before it became a major issue and avoid a root canal . After 5 minutes I was brought an invoice and told my insurance was incredible and all I had to pay was $1014 after insurance paid . They even offered to start treatment right away after my cleaning that same day . I was not happy but dentist was convincing and I accepted . The nightmare begins after I go home and the temp caps kept falling off . 3 weeks later permanent caps go in and the pin on one of the teeth was unbearable . I kept going back for repairs because air was going in . The dentist went on maternity leave and one of the girls there told me that she didn't think I needed the caps to begin with and was sorry I was in pain . Finally the new dentist fixed the cap after 5 months . 8 months later I started to get bills for $280 and when I called insurance company states the dentist office failed to send post up build up xrays - once they would receive they would get $400 . So actually they owed me a credit Dentist office asked me to go back so they can take post up xrays and send to insurance . They never sent the xrays even after I went back . Every month for the past 4 months I kept on getting bills for the $280 and they said the insurance denied the claim for xrays I finally received it An email from insurance stating they never received xrays and once they did they would pay the claim . Once we escalated to the regional manager after the office manager lied to me over and over , Regis al manager brought account to zero . They never sent the xrays to the insurance. . Insurance may have to investigate this case because seems they are hiding something and I may need to go to a new dentist to find out what is wrong with my molars and new caps .
