I have gone to Oakland Park Dental for years and I love both hygentists Jose and Alvira, however the scheduler/office manager has such attitude and always a condescending tone. When you call the office it lists how you can page the dentist if you have a dental emergency, however beware if you do call and Dr. Cunnigham answers while he is vacationing in Europe you will be read the riot act. I really wanted to continue going to this office for the hygentists but after my last interaction with the scheduler I will not be returning. read more

I have been coming to Dr. Cunningham for years and never had a bad experience. They are always on time and very efficient. I would recommend this clinic to anyone. I also love Elvira, she makes me feel so comfortable and does not hurt when cleaning your teeth. I switched to Dr. Cunningham a couple years ago and I have had the best experience ever. Nowadays, it is really hard to find a good and honest dentist. Dr. Cunningham really cares about the patient. He does not order unnecessary procedures compared to other dentists who want to charge you more money, regardless of your financial situation. Been visiting Dr. Cunningham's practice for several years and I always have a great experience. The doctor, as well as his dental and office staff, always are great to work with. As others have mentioned, I, too, was required to come in for an evaluation appointment before my initial cleaning could be scheduled. Which I did. No problem. And that was 5 years ago. I guess others found that process to be off-putting, but I didn't. After all, you're seeking 'medical care' from a total stranger. Wouldn't you like to know who's sticking his hands in your mouth before you end up reclining in an exam chair with a paper bib strapped around neck...??? Myself, I've never had a need for a 'stat' teeth cleaning. So, I didn't mind the meet-and-greet at all. Will continue to visit Dr. Cunningham's practice for the foreseeable future. read more

I've been going to Dr Cunningham for about 4 years. Dr Cunningham is a good dentist and the dental hygienists and technical staff are very competent and very personable. However for the past 4 years the people at the front desk have been consistently short, rude and very difficult to help accommodate me- even in an emergency. It's not worth the hassle of dealing with them when there are plenty of friendly good dentist offices in the immediate area. It took me 3 minutes after getting off of the phone with Dr Cunningham's office to find another excellent dentist that got me in that day! read more

The best. I am a New York who resides in fll if I am not flying. All our flight attendants in private and commercial go to DR Howard. You can not be 5 minutes late because he respects our time. The only office I have ever seen run in time. I have been going to him for about 20 years. I will not let anyone touch my teeth. Even had root canals and he does not hurt. I have bad root canals done by others. Dr is classy. His staff stays with him. Und the office manager rocks. I highly recommend this office. read more

Most unprofessional, grumpy staff. They charged me just under $200 for my x-rays and threatened to withhold them when I wanted to switch dentists. They asked my other dentist for a signed to release authorization form, so I called and asked that they email me a form so I can sign it digitally - the rude guy over the phone told me "there's no such thing as online signatures" outdated much... then he told me he'll only send me my x-rays by MAIL if I paid a no show fee. Mail? Seriously...? Worst dental office ever. read more

Dr. Howard Cunningham and his office and staff are terrific. Dr. Cunningham consistently does a great job, and the support staff are pleasant people who keep the office running smoothly. It's great to know you can go to a practice with qualified caring service, that doesn't keep you sitting in the lobby waiting, or try to upsell you procedures you don't need. Conveniently located right off the corner of Federal Avenue and Oaland Park with plenty of free parking, my partner and I have always been very happy here. read more

I've been a patient here for 4 years. I've had nothing but positive experiences. The hygienists are friendly and skilled and thorough. I read a Yelp review that says the patient was sort of forced to spend a ton on dental work that East needed or asked for - Invisalign braces in particular. I haven't ever had that experience. I even have asked about whether or not Invisalign braces would be appropriate for me, and there was no hard sell at all. I'm sorry that person had that experience, but I've never encountered anything like that. I would recommend Dr Cunningham and his staff to anyone who asked read more

I called Dr Cunningham's office just to make an appointment for a cleaning and see if they took Humana. They do not do cleanings on the first appointment only an evaluation with X-rays and then have to come back another time for the cleaning. The Gaysian on phone was fairly rude and nasty. I then called The House of Dentistry in Wilton Manors and was able to make an appointment for the cleaning immediately and they couldnt have been more accommodating. They said they took my insurance and my out of pocket would be zero. read more

I previously posted a good review. Unfortunately, today I have to retract it. When I tried to inform the dentist, in person, about a mishandling of scheduling by a person on his staff, I was confronted by a very unprofessional and severe case of anger management issues. You would think that any medical professional is conscientious of their duty to at least hear what the patient is trying to say. You would expect the same from any civil person. Making presumptions in advance and cutting the patient off with aggressive interrogations instead of actually listening fairly is uncalled for. Turns out, you never really know what lurks inside a person until you see the monster reveal itself in an irrational episode of rage. read more

Tried to make appointments for my husband and I to get cleanings. The doctor won't do cleanings as he has to meet you first, then schedule another visit for a cleaning. I've never heard of this before. I've always been able to schedule a cleaning and get examined the same day. Needless to say we took our business down the road where they were more than happy to clean and examine us in the same day. I don't reccomend for new patients. read more

The gay dentist, exactly what I wanted, so me and my partner, could feel comfortable there. But every time I went, he hard sold me to get Invisalign dental braces. I resisted it for months finally he said let's just take some measurements and I can think about it. Then suddenly they were ordered, and I was being billed for them, but Dr Cunningham said its ok your insurance will cover "all this, no problem" but just as suddenly, it was 2000$ out of pocket . then it was an "every 3 weeks appointment" for fitting, with a co-pay$$$ of course. I was having a problem with one of the liners cutting my gums, I was told it would shift with my teeth. As this went on and on with the money piling up, I asked when they would be finished. "Finished? Oh no, after this we are going to do veneers and there's a crown,$$$, etc etc" when I said that my mouth was turning into a new Porsche for the Dr, his asst replied in a surly sneer, " no way, an Audi!" I decided to stop going to this dentist and he said, " you can't" and that I still owed him 2400$ for the rest of the invisaliners. Long story short, it cost me most of that to sue him, but since he was never going to stop thinking of new dental work to charge me for, I probably got out cheap. I'm not complaining about his dental work, but his business ethic is pure robbery. read more
