I asked them if it was possible for my teeth journey to be complete by a specific date due to my bestfriend's wedding and me being in it... they promised me it wouldn't be an issue. Throughout the journey with Sage Dental, they have played with me the entire time from scheduling my appts when specific staff weren't even working that day or time, including the dentist. To add, I never got my teeth fully done because I was really at my wits end with missing work for NO reason, truly heartbreaking because they reel you in by being extremely sweet and then you become just another number to them. I'm SO disappointed but again.... Here we go on the quest to find a truly genuine dental practice. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I'm new to the area and getting in to the dentist after quite some time of being a student and not having insurance. I went to Sage Dental and had an amazing experience. Dr. Del Carlo was very personable and knowledgeable. All of the staff were polite and efficient and all of the anxiety that I had going back to the dentist after so long melted away. Dollar store dentistry hurts people!! Ripped me off thousands $$ - crowns that don't sit right, creating issues requiring expensive surgery, fillings fell out within weeks. A year later, EVERY single crown has an issue and needs replacing. They drilled my front teeth so badly for small fillings that I required veneers. This place has nothing for pain or sensitivity - not even ibuprofen. I have never had so much pain in my life at a dentist - no joke - it was like labor pain!! I have never had these problems at other dentists. I want a refund so that I can finish paying a professional to fix what they screwed up!! I may even file a case against them, because THEY OWE ME A REFUND. How can we report this scam company so it can be shut down?? Been going since it was opened and privately owned. It has been sold now to a Corporation/Private Equity Group, and the experience now is more like walking into a car dealership than a Dentist Office (I guess there is a Dentist somewhere in the office) ). The Hygienist seem to be salespeople, probably commissioned, and immediate expressed Horror at the state of your teeth as soon as you open your mouth, and the upsell starts. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Went in for a routine cleaning and scans. There was no communication during the exam nor did they explain what they were doing. I hated that the didn't show me the x rays or anything. At the end of the exam I was told that I need a root canal, a $300 special gum cleaning and 2 fillings. They told me that won't do a regular cleaning because I need the special cleaning. With all the news I cried in the chair because I take very good care of my teeth. My treatment plan ended up being $1200 and that didn't include the root canal. After feeling weird about the situation I decided to get a second opinion. Turns out I don't need a root canal and my gums are perfectly healthy. This place is a rip off and a money grab. Don't go here. I went today for a root canal on a molar, I gave the receptionists my name and why I was there. All she says is you have a $700.00 balance and we can't see you unless it's paid, which was not correct, I do not have a $700.00 balance. Waited over 40 minutes to see hygienist, but never saw her. I went back the next day for 2 fillings, doc was good and his assistant was great. The hygienist finally came in and did an exam to see what kind of cleaning I would need. After she showed my what it would cost I told her no I wasn't paying 550 for a cleaning, she wanted to do a deep cleaning. I want a regular cleaning and they refused to do any other cleaning but the deep. If I didn't have insurance ( which sucks anyway) it would be over $1000 just to a cleaning! Wth! I went to sage dental in Daytona Beach Florida at the end of November 2024 it is now almost the end of June 2025 and I still don't have properly fitting teeth. I didn't have to have any pulled because I had already had dentures before I have had appointments canceled and rescheduled and I understand that everybody has family problems and emergencies at home including the dentist but there are two dentists in this office and the other dentist won't touch me because I was unlucky enough to get the dentist that is having all the problems. The cornerstone office waited until I walked into my 8 am appointment to tell me that they couldnt verify my insurance. LIED to me by saying they had a wrong phone number for me. The receptionist, didn't even look up to acknowledge me when I walked into my appointment, and was very callous in her response to helping me get another appointment when my insurance office opened up at 9. Complete Scam, the work up cost was outrageous, made it seem like I had way more problems than I actually had. Went to another dentist, received a normal work up, with reasonable cost after insurance, new dentist told me I had healthy teeth not thousands of dollars ( after insurance) of dental work and time which I don't have to waste . I knew something was off during the visit , I've never had a cavity in my life , I'm glad I did not return My insurance offers free yearly exam their was a bill still They told me I had periodontal disease and can only do deep cleaning, new dentist told me I did not have periodontal disease and will be getting my normal cleaning every 6 months Because of this I had to pay out of pocket for another exam somewhere else , which is still cheaper than continuing to go to sage. read more

I have been going to Sage Dental since they bought out the previous practice. I believe at least three years. Each time I go which is every three months it is worse than the time before. I need my teeth cleaned every three months so I like to go somewhere local and build a rapport with the hygienist. Each time it is a different hygienist and a different price. Before I went this time I spoke to my insurance. I was told I get four free cleanings the medicine I receive is free and if written up correctly the numbing agent is free. This time I was told a different price for the cleaning $98.00. Not bad just not what it should be. I said that is wrong check up front she repeated herself. I walked up front highly agitated I was speaking to the woman at the front desk she was not paying any attention. I asked her if she was busy and she said I am not the manager and looked away. As a 73 year old that has dreaded dental visits for more than half a century, I experienced my first positive visit to a dental facility at the Sage Dental Clinic in Daytona Beach this morning. From the moment that I walked in, the reception from the front desk staff, began what turned out to be a truly unexpected event. The professionalism and congeniality of everyone I interacted with during my visit, proved to me that I had chosen the best dental group in Daytona. Quality dental work. Terrible customer service and communication. It's like serving a quality steak on a dirty platter. This place needs a new location manager and better follow-up communication with patients about insurance issues and appointment changes. Also, if possible, it would help if the receipts came with an itemized list of same-day procedures and costs. I went to Sage for the first time in February. they gave me a proposal for $7000.00 of work, which would include a deep cleaning, and 2 crowns. I've been going to dentist for the last 20 years twice a year. they have never recommended a deep cleaning or mentioned the 2 crowns. Sage takes my insurance and that is why i switched. it turns out that my insurance company turned down part of the initial screening. I was billed separately for the x-rays that were duplicated. I decided to go back last week, since I have already had all the preliminary work done. I told the receptionist that I just wanted a regular cleaning. she insisted that Sage could not do anything but a deep cleaning.. SHE IS ONLY THE RECEPTIONIST???? I am extremely afraid of the dentist and have bad anxiety and a super bad gag reflex and everybody was super accommodating which I hadn't found at any other dentist in town. The place is super clean and cute and the doctor who took my tooth out was extremely patient and let me have a minute during my extraction to breathe. The other doctor/ nurse(?) that was in the room was super nice and made sure I understood everything and let me hold her hand while my tooth was getting taken out which I really appreciated. 10/10 would go back read more

Before my appointment they told me I was fully covered by my insurance for the procedure, but the hygienist wanted me to sign for a $133.00 charge. My insurance company told me they were wrong and I wasn't explained everything accurately. Too bad, because the dentist was nice, the hygienist not. They didn't even care that I walked out of there. Beware of this company. When Sage Dental took over the Daytona Cornerstone office from Dental USA, everyone quit. I know this because the dentist who worked there is at another office my wife goes to. I didn't know that Dental USA was no longer in that office and went there for a cleaning. The service was horrid but what really stinks is Sage Dental is trying to bill me for a service provided by Dental USA almost 8 months ago. I contacted my insurance carrier and was told the bill was paid in full. They said they'll be sending me the proof on paper. In the meantime I've tried to work this out with Sage Dental but they won't hear it. I called the corporate office and was told someone would look into it but no sooner than I got off the phone another test message came in saying I still owed the money. Stay away. This outfit does not recognize your paid in full coverage by insurance. They will send you a bill, by letter and text message, pressuring you to pay an additional "adjustment". The service is subpar to begin with and while there they will try to sell you additional "dental services". Don't opt for the "flouride treatment", all they do is smear some junk on your teeth, have of it will end up down your throat, and they charge more for that than the cleaning itself. Finally one worker said he left and there is a big turnover of dentist. I went for a cleanin. 2 hours. They raked my insuranc. No cleanin, come back tomorrow. They are supposed to give antibiotics if you had a recent hip done. They said they don't have any. All dentists give antibiotics if you had a recent hip don. Watch out I have been going to Dental USA and always had a wonderful experience. Sage dental in Daytona took over and it really changed. They called me yesterday in the late afternoon to let me know that they had a cancellation for an opening this morning. I took the opening for a teeth cleaning only. I arrived on time at 8:00am and proceeded to the chair. A nice young hygienist came in and let me know that they were going to do a full exam with x-rays. I told her the appointment was just for teeth cleaning and I did not need an examine or x-rays as I would do that in the first quarter of 2024 when new insurance kicked in. She left the room and I believe it was the office manager came in and told me they were going to do a full x-ray and an exam. I told her I was just here for a teeth cleaning and not the full x-ray exam and I'd have it done in first quarter of 2024. She became very rude and told me it's against Florida law to clean my teeth because it was just over a year since I've had the examinations and x-rays. I then again said I was here for teeth cleaning, and I would do it 2024. She repeatedly said it's against Florida law and they'd be breaking a the law for Sage dental to clean my teeth without the full x-rays and exam. I said I would leave without the teeth cleaning she said goodbye. So I left, on my way out I told the lady at the front desk to have a nice day. The office manager immediately went to the front desk and asked the front desk WHAT DID HE SAY? WHAT DID HE SAY? The nice lady at the desk said he told me to have a nice day. I turned to the office manager said I just wanted my teeth cleaned and that's how the appointment was scheduled, She said it was against Florida law. I said fine. I will find a new dentist. It's off to find a new dentist that will not have to x-ray my teeth, every time they need a dollar and blame it on Florida law which does not exist, and put customers in harm for radiation. If there is a law that I can't find Sage dental it's up to you to respond to this and list the Florida statutes otherwise you are misleading clients to use services they don't want or need. read more
