I have lived at the Kiva Apartments since September and have a storage unit at Southside Rentals. They are managed by the same person. I needed a pet friendly place and the Kiva Apartments were the only option I could find. I was relocating from Texas so I didn't have an opportunity to look at the apartment ahead of time. I figured if it was a dump, I'd move after a year. I was pleasantly surprised at how well kept the apartment was and it was clean. I live in a spacious 2 bedroom apartment with a kitchen that has lots of storage. I only needed a small storage unit because I downsized from a 4 bedroom 3200sf home. The manager Tony is friendly and helpful. He even remembers me by name. I've had a few minor work requests and they are handled asap. Craig the maintenance man gets the job done quickly. He also works hard to keep the parking lot, sidewalks and stairways clear of snow. They are respectful and work harder than they have to considering these Apartments basically rent themselves since they are a pet friendly place. The parking lot is well lit so I feel safe here. The storage unit is fenced in and access is with a fob so even my overflow of items are safe and secure. I highly recommend Kiva Apartments and Southside Rentals.

Paid for professional cleaning and carpet cleaning before leaving and made sure it was much nicer than how they gave me it. Did all of this to only receive about $60 out of my $1000 deposit! DO NOT RENT FROM ECLIPSE! I would recommend Century is much more reliable and will help their tenants.

Editing to update my original review which appears below the line…read more Following my review, Chuck reached out to me. After that exchange I am bumping my review up 1 star. This is not because my experience was anything other than awful but because I believe changes are and continue to be made that may make things better for current and future tenants. I also realize in hindsight that I should have been a much louder and squeakier wheel and advocated more forcefully for myself while I was a tenant. I would still tread very cautiously but will temper wouldn't automatically discount all listings from Eclipse in Alamosa. I should have been clear that my issues were with the team there specifically. __________________________ Avoid this company at all costs. There is a tenant named Victor who's constantly yelling at his dog's named Buddy and Sadie, day and…read morenight. The tenants are required to have their dogs on leashes, all other tenants follow this rule except Victor and his wife. The landlords don't persist in enforcing this rule, otherwise he wouldn't be constantly yelling at his dog's to "Come here!" and "Get over here!". The dogs jump up on people walking by the apartments any time they're outside. Other dog owners in the buildings have to ask Victor for permission to bring their own dogs outside and to wait for Victor to control his dogs just so they can take their dogs (which are on leashes) for a walk. I've seen this multiple times, it's ridiculous! The problem is not the dogs, it's the dog owners and the Century landowners. The landlords have been told by multiple tenants about problems with the yelling and fighting when intoxicated which spills outside, yelling at the dogs, and Victor and his wife's contribution of alcohol to other problem tenants. Police have been called multiple times. They get a warning, then they act nice for a week or two then it's back to usual. Unless you have no other choice, DO NOT rent from Century (across from Pizza Hut), or rent at 2069 Mullin's Street. The school is across the street and there are two churches within 1 block and still these issues exist because the landlords let it. It's disgusting.

Then over 500 in charges including 150 for "touch up paint," when I WITNESSED them tell my kid NOT to do any touch up painting after leaving (After a year) because they routinely paint. Thinnest walls and poorest construction of any apt I've ever seen. You can hear neighbors speaking in regular voices both next door and on other floors. Drugs dealt in parking lot. No attempt to control noise. And ridiculous cost - they have tenants over a barrel because of crappy housing market. But LUCAS is a slum lord. If you have ANY OTHER OPTION, anywhere, DO NOT rent here. A complete tenement at it's finest. It's hard to find rental listings for Alamosa from out-of-town, and I like that Century Prop. Management has them listed online, but that's about it. I've looked into a number of their rental houses-they are in horrible condition and it's sad to think they continually rent them out to people. The places I've looked at have had nasty old carpet, huge holes in the walls, reek of mildew and mold, have "garage" sheds that look like they are only housing mice, torn up fences, and random junk left scattered about the yards. I wouldn't even bother looking at their site. Go with the classifieds in the Valley Courier or on slvjunction.
