    Classroom #2 out of 3
    Adriana S.

About 3 years ago I was looking for a good day care that was open the hours I needed. I work full time and a lot of the day cares I found were only half a day or not opened late enough or early enough for drop off and pick up. Then I found this one, which opened from 7am-7pm. When my daughter started she cried the first week, every day after that she LOVED going. Even the days I would pick her up early, or didn't take her she still wanted to be there. The first year we started I was a little iffy about the place, since they increased the tuition without prior notice, staff seemed to change too frequent and due to the hours I would pick up and drop off my daughter it was hard to see her teacher and ask about her day. HOWEVER, I did not move my daughter because the staff that was there was all very nice, I never had an issue with any of the staff. I never saw any of the kids being yelled at, mistreated, or etc.. all the staff really seems like they love their job. They are not there just for a paycheck. Aside of this being a non profit organization, Victor the director is always on site available and if he is not it is not hard to get a hold of him or arrange a meeting with him if needed. My daughter has loved everyday here, she started wheb she was 2yrs old, I got help from them on potty training, they helped her to be more communicative, learn her colors, shapes, alphabet and all basics. She then grew onto pre-k which they transfer to there. Now with 5 yrs old she knows two digit math, her numbers up to 100, her shapes, colors, how to spell her name and many other words such as the common sigh words, she knows how to express herself, she knows how to read at her age level, she knows how to match, rhyme and so much more. I very proud of her growth here and very thankful to all the staff, the teachers here are very attentive, they really know their children. I am glad I never moved my daughter from here. Victor, Ms. Maria, Ms. Jocelyn, Ms. Daisy, and all of them are just great. They also always celebrate each of the childrens birthdays, they have jumpers, treats and etc for birthdays and the parents can go and take food, goodie bags, etc. They also have had petting zoos, musicians, magicians, and so much more on site! Since they have very small kids they prefer to avoid going to field trips and bring it to them!! It does not stop the kids from having fun and enjoying themselves. They have a gated playground where they play with the staff always there. They are open during summer and are very flexible with the hours. They have a monthly letter for the parents that keeps us updated with activities, picture days, days off, etc. Overall this Daycare/pre-k , is a real jewel in this area and affordable! Although the exterior might not be the greatest , what they do is great, we are really lucky to have them. They give our kids the best in all, attention, education, care, fun, excitement and all! Very worth every dollar!! Great investment for our kids future. Great base for their education.

My daughter is going on her second year here and I cannot day enough AMAZING things about this school. The teachers there all deeply care about their students and you can see it the second they greet them at the door. The communication as well is great from pictures to your phone to updates by text/flyers. The school is always clean and tidy which is one thing I noticed when I walked the campus almost two years ago and it has remained clean if not cleaner now because of the pandemic. Lastly the director of the school Mr. victor is not only great but also very involved. He is not one of those directors that just shows up for tours NOPE my daughter knows his name and he always greets her back with a "hey buddy"!! It's the small things that count and this small school is the heart of our tiny community!

My son has been coming to this school for the past 5 months and he absolutely loves it! He haves so much fun and loves his teacher Mrs. Maria and all the staff. Today we celebrated his 5th birthday here with all his friends. We were able to bring a jumper, candy bags and cupcakes for him. He had a blast.

I have taken my daughter (I.M)to SAGA for over 4 months. After interviewing different schools in the Lynwood and South Gate area I feel SAGA was the most organized and clean. Their hours and rate fit my schedule and budget. I completely feel like they're the diamond in the rough. My daughter has learned her months, how to write her name in such a short period of time thanks to her awesome teachers! My daughter is in room 2 with Ms. T, Ms Jocelyn, and Ms Ili and they are very nice and kind. My daughter always speaks very highly of them. The entire staff has been very nice to me and my daughter, and the director Mr. Victor cares about his students, the school, and the staff. You can tell he works hard at maintaining a nice and clean facility. *One thing I would like to see in the near future is an upgrade to their security as far as entering the rooms, or entering the main gate. I have seen some schools that have a keypad with a code or an intercom to enter the facility. Overall I feel safe when I drop off my daughter every morning because I know she'll receive exceptional care.

The teachers are incredible--patient, caring, and genuinely invested in each child. They've helped my son learn so much, from social skills to early learning basics, and I always feel confident knowing he's in a safe and nurturing environment. It's clear they really take the time to know each child individually, which means so much to us as parents. Another huge plus is how convenient and well-organized everything is. They provide meals and nap time for the kids, which takes so much stress off busy parents. All we need to send are extra clothes (just in case of accidents), a bed sheet and blanket for nap time, and a water bottle. Overall, Kidtown USA feels like a second home for my son. Seeing him happy, comfortable, and excited to go each day says everything. I highly recommend this daycare to any parent looking for a caring, supportive, and structured environment for their little ones!

We are so grateful to have found and be a part of the MAOD community!…read more Where to begin with my review- I'll start from the beginning, after touring several pre-schools in the area, my husband and I were convinced MAOD would be the best choice for our daughter. From the very beginning when inquiring about information on enrollment and space we were always greeted courteously and warmly by the school's administrator, Veronica. Setting up our initial tour of the school was easy and we appreciated that we got a tour from one of the teachers who would be working with our 4 year old, so it was nice getting to know her a bit and asking her questions. During the tour, it was great being able to see all aspects of the school not just the areas assigned to their pre-k students but also where the infant area is, the kitchen where lunches/snacks are prepped the restrooms, playground, classrooms- everything! We also had the opportunity to ask questions about the schools teaching methods, curriculum, and experience of the teachers with Montessori so upon all of this, my husband and I made the decision to enroll our little one at MAOD. After 5-6 months of enrollment, we really are very satisfied in having brought our daughter here. It wasn't a smooth transition, there were days/weeks with lots of tears at drop off, but her teachers were patient and flexible with her needs, and I am happy to say she is doing great now. We love that the classes are small and there are two teachers per pre-k class. As parents we get a monthly newsletter with what's to come for the month and I always look forward to seeing her interpretations of different artists for "artist of the month" and hearing from her what she learned in school everyday. Most of the teachers are bilingual so it was a huge plus for us as our daughter is primarily a Spanish speaker which brings me to my next huge plus- in a matter of just a few months her English has improved significantly! We are amazed at how much English she speaks now compared to when she started. One of the other big pluses about MAOD is their incorporation of Montessori principles and we always love seeing when the kids are learning by doing. Her teachers, Ms. Patty and Ms. Sinttia are truly wonderful! They both have their special way of connecting and nurturing each student based on their needs, we truly appreciated how they each adapted to our daughter's needs as she transitioned into school full time. My daughter loves them both and won't stop talking about them at home. The app the school uses to communicate with parents is great too, I love that teachers update with pictures and important announcements consistently. Overall, we would definitely recommend MAOD to anyone looking to enroll their child in a ECE program. So much so that we will definitely be bringing our little one here when they are old enough to enroll in the future. I hope this review will encourage other potential families to check out MAOD, as we believe that it is a truly nurturing and caring environment for little ones as they begin their early childhood education. Thank you, Ms Veronica, Ms. Patty, Ms. Sinttia, and all the teachers and staff who have made this experience wonderful!

I was a little nervous about the transition at first, but the teachers are so kind and caring that it quickly put me at ease. My daughter had been struggling with her speech very early on, and since moving into this next age group she has continued to blossom even more. All of the teachers genuinely care, you can truly feel it, and it shows in the kids. Even though she is still new to the school setting, her transition into the new class was very smooth. Ms. Ale also incorporates home projects, which I really appreciate. As busy parents, it's a nice reminder to pause and spend quality one-on-one time with our little ones, nurturing their creativity and helping them grow. We've really enjoyed the first two projects and I'm grateful for the opportunity to slow down and focus on that special time together.

She was also not yet independently using the restroom among various other concerns. In our search, we visited various schools, some that we were highly impressed with. We were hesitant to use a home-based school, but decided to visit anyway. Upon meeting Mrs. Valerie, we were immediately put at-ease. She listened to our concerns and never made us feel as though our daughter was behind; we could tell right away that she understood kids and that she truly cared and was knowledgeable about their development. She was open and honest in her communication and was just a very warm and welcoming person in general. During her year there, our daughter learned so much! I don't mean an academic focus (which is still there) but in other ways; she's now more social, independent, and her communication skills have improved. In fact, during her IEP with the district, we were told she no longer qualified for services and they asked us what school she had attended. They were surprised with how much progress she had made in one year. I can confidently say that the majority of her progress is due to Mrs. Valerie. Mrs. Valerie has tons of experience with preschool kiddos, they are always doing fun crafts and outdoor/play activities. My daughter loves that she gets to dance, do yoga, eat yummy pasta and play with her friends every week! And as a parent, of course the number one concern is safety, and I feel truly blessed that I know she is in good hands and that she is 100% safe with Mrs. Valerie. I am also thankful for Mrs. Valerie's support and special attention as my daughter transitioned out of pull ups and began learning English (we speak a different language at home). We recently went on a two week vacation (that was filled with beach and pool days, everyday!) and she asked several times when she goes back to Mrs. Valerie, so she definitely is doing everything right at Schoolhouse! Mrs. Valerie is a very supportive and caring teacher, and I highly recommend her.

When I found myself in the position of having to utilize childcare, I was scared and felt very insecure as all loving parents would. My expectations were high and continue to be. My last stop was further away from home, in Downey, where I came to meet the Chalco Family. Since I walked in I knew this was the daycare I was looking for, and 3 years later still have no regrets. The smell of homemade meals as soon as you walk in at 7:30a.m. assures me my kids will enjoy a healthy and delicious meal. Their care and attention to my needs for each of my FOUR kids is priceless!!! They are dependable when my kids need help with hw or need to study for a test. The kids have enjoyed their summer break each year because Diocelina and Fortunato always have the pool ready :) It is so satisfying seeing your kids excited about going to daycare when you don't have the option of staying home with them. My baby who will soon be 4 years old took his first steps AND was potty trained while in their care...priceless!!! The list can go on forever...I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for our family. May God continue to bless you enormously Mama Nina and Freddy!!! -The Mendoza Family
