Our son was transitioning from his infant daycare to a toddler one. Choosing a daycare is always a tough choice because you're trusting other people with your child. I had seen Saga before and I met some of the staff at a Lynwood event. I had actually made a choice to send my son somewhere else and for some reason I decided to stop at SAGA CDLA right before going to enroll him elsewhere. The staff was super friendly and their philosophy at their school sold me! I could tell they had knowledge about young children and we really enjoyed what their program and curriculum had to offer. We are proud and happy to know that we have a good child care facility here in our city! Our child loves going there and he has learned so much from all the teachers. Both my children came from a previous school where they both would cry when being dropped off & I was so insecure to send them to another school but I can absolutely say I love how each staff in SAGA made my children feel welcomed, and worked them to adapt to school and gave me reassurance that my children would be ok now my children cry because they missed school. My daughter has been going to SAGA since she was about 2 1/2, we've had a few teachers a few changes, but the quality let me tell you is alwaysssss AMAZING. I can tell by the way my daughter feels comfortable with them and how they make me feel comfortable as well. They really invest in the kids activities and emotions it's truly the best experience I've had. About 3 years ago I was looking for a good day care that was open the hours I needed. I work full time and a lot of the day cares I found were only half a day or not opened late enough or early enough for drop off and pick up. Then I found this one, which opened from 7am-7pm. When my daughter started she cried the first week, every day after that she LOVED going. Even the days I would pick her up early, or didn't take her she still wanted to be there. The first year we started I was a little iffy about the place, since they increased the tuition without prior notice, staff seemed to change too frequent and due to the hours I would pick up and drop off my daughter it was hard to see her teacher and ask about her day. HOWEVER, I did not move my daughter because the staff that was there was all very nice, I never had an issue with any of the staff. I never saw any of the kids being yelled at, mistreated, or etc.. all the staff really seems like they love their job. They are not there just for a paycheck. Aside of this being a non profit organization, Victor the director is always on site available and if he is not it is not hard to get a hold of him or arrange a meeting with him if needed. My daughter has loved everyday here, she started wheb she was 2yrs old, I got help from them on potty training, they helped her to be more communicative, learn her colors, shapes, alphabet and all basics. She then grew onto pre-k which they transfer to there. Now with 5 yrs old she knows two digit math, her numbers up to 100, her shapes, colors, how to spell her name and many other words such as the common sigh words, she knows how to express herself, she knows how to read at her age level, she knows how to match, rhyme and so much more. I very proud of her growth here and very thankful to all the staff, the teachers here are very attentive, they really know their children. I am glad I never moved my daughter from here. Victor, Ms. Maria, Ms. Jocelyn, Ms. Daisy, and all of them are just great. They also always celebrate each of the childrens birthdays, they have jumpers, treats and etc for birthdays and the parents can go and take food, goodie bags, etc. They also have had petting zoos, musicians, magicians, and so much more on site! Since they have very small kids they prefer to avoid going to field trips and bring it to them!! It does not stop the kids from having fun and enjoying themselves. They have a gated playground where they play with the staff always there. They are open during summer and are very flexible with the hours. They have a monthly letter for the parents that keeps us updated with activities, picture days, days off, etc. Overall this Daycare/pre-k , is a real jewel in this area and affordable! Although the exterior might not be the greatest , what they do is great, we are really lucky to have them. They give our kids the best in all, attention, education, care, fun, excitement and all! With ongoing distance learning, it had been quite a nightmare trying to get the nanny and home daycares to assist with this important task.. I am absolutely grateful for the quick and easy process in transitioning my two boys... ...usually, they do not take kids over 7 but I am so grateful that they have made temporary changes due to the pandemic and distant learning to take kids 7 & older... .. my kiddos LOVE going here and always come telling me of their daily adventures! ...they also get all the help with the online learning and independent school work... My daughter is going on her second year here and I cannot day enough AMAZING things about this school. The teachers there all deeply care about their students and you can see it the second they greet them at the door. The communication as well is great from pictures to your phone to updates by text/flyers. The school is always clean and tidy which is one thing I noticed when I walked the campus almost two years ago and it has remained clean if not cleaner now because of the pandemic. He is not one of those directors that just shows up for tours NOPE my daughter knows his name and he always greets her back with a "hey buddy"!! Pretty simple process. Log your kid in, write the time, date and sign. Drop kid off in class, he/she finds a chair and joins the rest either in music, dance, count to 100, or follow the leader while playing music. They do have snack time, in between or before recess and class time, I'm sure they have a schedule. For the kids who do not bring a snack, they do provide some sort of snack, be it orange slices, assortment of cheese snacks. Sometimes water or apple juice. When I get there to pick up both of my kids, I log them out, while they're playing or coloring along with the rest of the kids.. As far as learning, both my kids surprise me everyday, their writing, speaking and socializing with other kids. First thing they learn are basic number, colors, alphabet, and most importantly how to write their name. There are two teachers per class, well at least every time I go there is. My kids now clean up after themselves, and organize which really blows my mind. They have homework that is picked up on Monday and dropped off on Friday. The staff is great, they always go above and beyond for my daughter. She's a bit of separation anxiety, they make good work of that. My son just jolts in there, pretty much forgetting about me. They provide an accident report in case your kid gets hurt, or something happens. They do their best to accommodate your kid while in pain or discomfort. I've seen a snow day, a couple birthday parties, and Dr.Seuss week was awesome. I could not say one bad thing about this place, the Teachers and Aides, even the kids are funny. My daughter started last year in August. Since then, we've noticed a great change in her. She's learned to be more social and communication skills have improved. She enjoys the daily activities and likes to tell me about them. We are glad we decided to go with SAGA. The weekly price is great for the hours that she's there (7-5). My son Nathan has been attending since October and it was honestly the best choice I made! He surprises me on a daily basis on how much he has learned in such a short time! Its his first little school he has ever attended and had it hard at first since he was scared, but the teachers are beyond awesome and made him feel so comfortable! Let me start of by saying, I don't like leaving negative reviews but this one deserves it. My complaint is not about the curriculum, the teachers, nor the school itself. My complaint is about Mr. Victor. Our daughter was supposed to start school on last week of August (30th) and we even did the orientation and left the deposit and paid for the application. Everything was going great and smooth. As first time parents, we where thrilled to finally see our daughter go to preschool (or so we thought). 3 days before her start date, we get a call from Victor saying that two kids where not able to transition out due to covid in their new school. Keep in mind, to stay quarantined is 14 days according to cdc guidelines. I said ok, no problem, totally understand. He said he was going to call us the next day or Monday which was suppose to be her start date to keep us informed on what was going on with the transitioning and to give us a better estimate on a start date. I received no phone call so I waited. Finally, I called Sep 10 and asked what the status was. He said the mother of one of the kids decided not to enroll them out and they had to follow their guidelines and not kick them out. However, I said but covid doesn't take a whole year so what's the plan? He said oh no it has nothing to do with covid, mom just had a different plan. Ummm, he said covid in the beginning! (Liar) Not sure if she has two kids enrolled or it's two different set of parents. Anyways I said I was going to go pick up the check and paperwork to find her another school. I started looking elsewhere and one week makes a difference to find a spot for kids because they're getting filled quick. If he could have called me like he said he was, my daughter could have potentially filled a spot in a different school so we feel like we missed our chances. Now we are stuck waiting to see if we can find her something better. We did offer to pay 6 months to a year upfront and see if that would make a difference and of course is a no which yea, I get it. But we also just found out maximum capacity for pre schoolers in a classroom has been lifted to 14. They currently only accept 10. I also brought that up and he said it's for everyone's safety. The miscommunication on his behalf was unprofessional. Also, this morning when I called saying I'll stop by, he answered "hello" and not with the school greeting. I even asked, am I calling saga? He said oh yes sorry, I'm getting phone calls from different offices and I thought it was an office. Hummm, interesting. Anyways, I get to the school and a teacher helped me but was rude. She said they where in a meeting but she'll help quick. She was then on the phone, pulled out my daughter's record and said you just need the check right? I said check, physician records and anything that pertains to her. She then gave me only the check and physician paperwork with immunization and tossed it at me in front of my daughter while I was carrying her. I just said thank you and walked out. Why did she do that? My guess is, she was on the phone with victor and was mad that we decided to look for another school, number two, she's late to her meeting, number 3, she's probably with aunt flow! Very very unprofessional. We are extremely disappointed on how things where handled and again, we missed spots on other potential schools because he never reached out until I had to. read more

I have taken my daughter (I.M)to SAGA for over 4 months. After interviewing different schools in the Lynwood and South Gate area I feel SAGA was the most organized and clean. Their hours and rate fit my schedule and budget. I completely feel like they're the diamond in the rough. My daughter has learned her months, how to write her name in such a short period of time thanks to her awesome teachers! My daughter is in room 2 with Ms. T, Ms Jocelyn, and Ms Ili and they are very nice and kind. My daughter always speaks very highly of them. The entire staff has been very nice to me and my daughter, and the director Mr. Victor cares about his students, the school, and the staff. You can tell he works hard at maintaining a nice and clean facility. *One thing I would like to see in the near future is an upgrade to their security as far as entering the rooms, or entering the main gate. I have seen some schools that have a keypad with a code or an intercom to enter the facility. Overall I feel safe when I drop off my daughter every morning because I know she'll receive exceptional care. read more

My daughter started daycare last year in August she graduated from pre-K this past June. Let me just say I had a wonderful experience with all the staff, they are very nice, patient and caring. My daughter loved going to school. if you're looking for a place to take your child for day care/pre-K I highly highly recommend SAGA learning Academy. I love that they have lots of activities and even celebrate the students birthdays, They have a little party, jumper, cupcakes and treats! What I really liked about them was that once graduation was getting close, Ms. Maria, made sure my daughter was already in the process or already enrolled in the school where she will be attending next. I absolutely appreciate the fact that Mr. Victor (director) took the time to text me a couple days ago to check up on my daughter to see how she's doing and wished her good luck in her new school. My son is always so happy when we pull up to Saga! I'm so excited I found this school knowing my son is new to daycare this academy beats any other school I have research. All the staff are so loving and welcoming to every child they see. In the mornings when I drop him off, he can't hug his teacher, it's so warming to see your child adore his teacher. It makes me happy because your children will tell you if they are bringing harm or miss treated, and zay shows me nothing but happiness. They also have a schedule they follow, which includes learning, playtime, and nap time. He comes home with nothing but his daily activities which o can't wait to hang up. I know at the age of two he's learning so much and me as a first-time mother I can't be anything but happy. Just have to work on him with his tantrums since we're at that stage however they are so patient, and I think that's something every parent need to make sure any provider have I will recommend. read more

My daughter Sophia started coming here since she was 3 yrs old and all I can say is that Mr. Victor and all of his staff are amazing. My daughter loves this school. There is not one day where she won't say that she misses her "little" school. I love the curriculum here as well because my daughter learned so much, way more than her actual grade level. Once she started Kindergarten at Wilson Elementary, I knew that she was way ahead of the game(she was honor roll while there) and I was not satisfied by the curriculum there. I ended up moving her to Soleil Academy because I felt that SAGA got her to an advanced level. Not only is Mr. Victor and his staff amazing but they're also very helpful and caring. If I was ever running late to pick up my daughter even if it was 5 mins, Mr. Victor was very understanding and patient with all his students. I can't say enough about this school! I'm a little sad my son will be starting kindergarten this year. All of his teachers have been wonderful and patient. This place is awesome. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Of course they didn't get five stars because there's room for improvement. Other daycares that I know of have incident reports if a child gets hurt and then hand over the report to the parent. This place doesn't do that which is a bummer but overall not too big a deal. My son has been going to his beautiful school (this is what he calls it), for about a year and a half and all I can say is that I loves his school. My son was potty trained here, which was a big help. He has become very independent, but most important is how much he has learned. He is always learning new words, new things, songs, shapes, colors, numbers, and he is able to say and recognize the alphabet. His vocabulary is great for his age (his pediatrician said it) and he is only 4. They always have fun activities like petting zoo, they have brought snow to the school and always celebrate their birthdays. The staff is amazing, they always answer your questions, are very professional, caring and friendly. The director is very approachable and involved in the kids activities. I feel at ease every morning that I drop off my son at school because I know he is in good hands. This school really is amazing! My daughter is in room 3 and she is always learning something new! I continue to see her growing more independent and confident. I absolutely love how involved the staff is! They are friendly, welcoming, patient and always update parents. In the four months that my daughter has been here they have had petting zoos and brought snow for the children to play in. I enrolled my son when he turned two. My husband and I work full time and found this school on our way to my sister in laws house. It was the best investment my husband and I ever made for our son. My son attended this center for 3 years and it was the best choice I could have made! Everyone is really welcoming and friendly.
