This is by far the tiniest airport I've ever been to. It's essentially two hallway. One has the…read moreticket and rental car counters and the other is the security line with a pizza place. Once through security there is one waiting room for the two gates. Although gates is a fancy way of saying doors because you walk directly onto the runway and to your plane. Security was very thorough. They pulled both my bags and the guys that was behind me. They found nothing in my backpack of interest but took my face wash from my suitcase, which had made it through Ft. Lauderdale just fine. They spent several minutes rechecking the x-ray footage a couple times, so I can see where this can get backed up if they pull a ton of bags. Once through security your only food option is a small kiosk from the pizza place offering pizza, popcorn, snacks and drinks. The good thing about this airport is the route from FLL is not super popular so both flights were only half full with plenty of room for everyone to spread out.

I kept smelling something, but was trying not to complain, as my husband and I went for a short getaway. I tried opening the window. It only opened approximately one inch. I tried turning up the air conditioner to no avail. I then started breaking out and had uncontrollable coughing. We went to the front desk and was asked, "Who put you in that room?". We quickly learned no one was to be in there. We were told the carpet was going to have to be removed, as well as, other deep cleaning. We were moved to a different floor. Next morning, we showered and ants were all over the floor of the shower! I'm still seeing specialists to find a cure for what I was exposed to at this absolutely filthy Marriott property! Not to mention, the bathroom vent had more dust caked on it than what is safe!
