Nice new Safeway with solar panels for shaded parking. So many variety of food selections not found in other Safeway locations!

Forgot this was sitting in my drafts. We have came by a few times so far since it has opened. One evening we went to grab some hot food and had to stand around and wait for someone to help us but no one came, it was end the of night but the deli was still open. So we ended up having to ask someone to get us help and someone finally came over. We then came the next day for the $5 sushi Friday special. There was a lot of people working behind the counter and there was a full stock of the sushi's prepared for grab and go. It was a nice surprise to get a free water with your sushi, never seen that before but hope it happens again.

Grand Opening!

Safeway has finally arrived in Oakley! A holiday themed Grand Opening experience set the tone for the grocery chain's new addition. Complete with a festive and cheerful community welcome with Freedom High School's cheer squad and a ribbon cutting! The big countdown was much awaited as shoppers lined up with their baskets, stretching around the building, and parking lots flooded full in the Laurel Ballfields plaza. The store was decorated with balloons and the shelves stocked and organized with tons of staff and security. Special offerings were available for opening and goodies inside, limited while supplies lasted. 'Twas a very merry Grand Opening experience and I can't wait to shop here more at my local Safeway!

Stopped by the Safeway grand opening in Oakley and it was a great experience. The store is clean, spacious, and easy to shop. The staff was really helpful, they had lots of grand opening coupons, and the free samples were a nice touch. Lines moved fast and everything felt well organized. Definitely a great addition to the area and excited this finally opened after all these years!

Had the honor of being at the grand opening of the much anticipated Safeway in my city! I must say it is absolutely the most beautiful Safeway I've ever seen! Located in the Shops at Laurel Fields it is complete with a drive through pharmacy, an area for online shopping pickup, charging stations, and gas station with a full size convenient store! The opening of the plaza created 100 new jobs which is wonderful for our growing community. We were treated with virgin mimosas, a warm, red carpet welcome from employees and company head staff. There was an area for pictures, live dj, delicious food to try and giveaways! It was an overall wonderful experience and the ambiance was just a little bit magical when you stepped inside. Well done Oakley, well done!

Good price. Good discount.

I give it three star simply because they have some good things here but the prices by double Safeway or FoodMaxx anyways. There's a very tall lady she's probably in her 20s early 30s, she proceeded to bag my stuff I told her thank you for the first thing she bagged and she threw it into my cart. Then there was other things that were from the bakery that she put underneath all of the heavy stuff. Then I also have sodas so she sees me rearranging her work gets even more mad & throws the soda on my bag then fixes it like oops sorry. I can't feel your vibe from a mile away and it's not a good one whatsoever. She was throwing my stuff around intentionally trying to squish my stuff I don't know what's up maybe she's having a bad day. But I snatched my bread off the table before she can smash that too. If she is the bagger for my cashier I will simply just bag it myself or go to a different cash register that's how unpleasant she was. Don't take your bad day out on everyone else I didn't do anything to you and I was sweet as can be.

Unfortunately, it was too late to get reservations for the next day but a friend had mentioned there was another farm taking walk-ins so we decided to give them a try. Following the long line of traffic down Sellers Avenue we found our destination was sold out. Although the city seemed busy, I was determined to find a spot to pick some cherries. We drove toward Delta Road and happen to stumble upon Dwelley Farms. Thankfully, they weren't too busy yet and were taking walk-ins for $5 per adult and children free. The $5 fee would also go toward whatever cherries were picked for purchase. The person in the front explained their rate was a little higher than others since their farm was organic. The farm was clean, easy to navigate through and had covid protocols in place. We were directed toward the riper, fuller trees and found them to be quite sweet and plentiful. Seeing the excitement of my parents and husband and son bonding over cherry picking filled my heart. They were all having so much fun picking and trying cherries I only picked a handful while snapping photos and enjoying their happiness. I do not remember how long we stayed at the farm but lots of smiles and $43 in cherries later we left with 8lbs of cherries. And did we eat them all? YES, because they were that good. I'm happy we found Dwelley Farms and look forward to visiting them again next year.
