Conner is great, thorough, and a fun instructor. This was my renewal course, while it was my boyfriend's first time ever taking a BLS course. He teaches the course in such a way that it's easy for both beginners and seasoned professionals. We both passed, yay, and received a free CPR face shield. As for new covid precautions, each student has their own desk, with an adult and infant dummy, and BVMs to match. He does require each person to first wash hands after checking in the front desk. Coffee and snacks provided in a separate mini room off the hallway. No eating or drinking allowed in the actual class. Mask are to be worn at all times. There are also saniwipes and hand sanitizers on each desk. Restrooms are in the same building. Plenty of parking. Thanks again, Conner.

Had to renew my BLS certification, searched for the cheapest but effective renewal place nearby, and found this place. I attended the BLS training on Feb 15, 2020 at 3pm. It is easy to find, lots of parking, and is in a safe area. The building, bathroom, and work area all nice and tidy. The equipment are new, lastest model, and easy to use. They make the class sizes small enough for the instructor to go around and check if youre doing it right, around ~20:1, and you work with a partner. They provide cups for water, coffee, and tea, as well as snacks. Also has a charging station for your phone, with multiple adapters. Our instructor was Nina H., she was amazing. I learned more with her than when I did my first training at another institution. She is very interactive and keeps the class lively yet is very much informative. She was able to answer the concerns of the students when asked. She performed the tasks to show us how it should be done and gave tips to remember them easily and other modifications. The only thing I'd say to add for this 3 hour class would be a 10-15 minute restroom break. I didnt want to run to the restroom and miss out on something valuable from the class. But other than that, everything was great! Will definitely be coming back here for a renewal after two years and would strongly recommend this place, especially with Nina!

I have taken BLS many times over the years and I would say this class was one of the best. The instructors knew their stuff. They kept the class casual and informative giving out practical pointers not shown on the video. The mannequins were newer models with indicator lights to help students do chest compressions correctly. The classroom was comfortable and had cell phone charging stations. Did I mention free snacks? That was the clincher for me on top of everything else.

I was actually supposed to take the CPR class over in Berkeley a few weeks ago, but got the dates mixed up. I decided to take the class in Concord instead of Berkeley because of the five star Yelp reviews. Despite this, I was kind of dreading today because the class takes three hours to complete. I had flashbacks of my college days sitting in my anthropology class, bored out of my skull. Surprisingly, Tomas Suzuki is nothing like my college professors--he is like a breath of fresh air. He was so entertaining and funny that the 2.5 hour class felt like a half an hour. He made the process of getting my certification absolutely painless. I hope he gets a raise because he's a really good instructor. Thank you Tomas for being my teacher today! Tip: Buy a used book from Ebay so you can save yourself $20.

I enjoyed my BLS class here. The instructor was enthusiastic and engaging, and the videos were informative too. For Covid safety, there were disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer at each desk. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I'd recommend it for future trainings!

Great place to take your BLS. The manicanes are brand new providing digital lighting confirmation chest compressions are adequately being delivered. Super cool! The instructor made it fun and the time passed quickly. Highly recommend getting certified at the concord location. Also they offer ACLS, PALS and NRP.

I've been coming here for the past 6 years and nothing has changed. They are still awesome and very professional. I was scared at first because of the pandemic but I was really surprised that they really are on top of it. Everything was in placed in order. Social distancing, hand sanitozer, disinfectant wipes, etc. Everything was spot clean! Nina was also awesome and very professional!

It was refreshing to try a new place in STS CPR Concord. I thought it was easy all around from finding it online to payment and finding the location. I left feeling really good about a potentially bad situation. Basically I feel confident about my CPR skills. I had Wendy for my instructor and I really liked the way she was matter of fact about the situations we might encounter. She had good answers to questions. Nothing bad to say about this place. They even had water and granola bars if you were starving. I will use again and recommend to other trainers and general public. Do it because you'll need it someday! FYI: I need to take CPR re-certification every 2 years and being a personal trainer and coach for the last 20 years means I've done it at least 10 times at other places. This is among the best. read more

It was super easy, the instructor was helpful, and I loved the new mannequins that light up to let you know if you are doing the compressions deep enough. Will be renewing here again, for sure. P.S. The instructor was great and the Heart Code PALS process was very convenient. Despite this, I was really irritated by a flase claim made on their website that they issue cards same day. This is a big selling point for people who have a deadline to get their certification. However, when my class was finished, we were told that cards would be received by mail in 3-5 business days. Not acceptable. Most companies have switched over to ecards at this point. How is this such a problem? Employees for one hospital received ecards... why not everyone? This company certainly make enough money off of these classes. The least they can do is honor their commitments. I just did my ACLS through another company in Petaluma and I think Ill be driving the extra distance up there in future. read more

Nina was amazing, she covered all the material in a timely fashion, gave us a 5 min break, helped me when my mannequin wasn't lighting up properly, and answered all of my questions. She was thorough and gave us easy ways to remember important information that would be on the test at the end of class. All desks were separated and sanitized and masks were required (because I took my class during the COVID-19) overall Nina gave me a great experience with CPR and I feel ready to save a life if I need to! read more

Patrick was awesome! He really made the CPR class funny and entertaining. I bought coffee thinking I was going to fall asleep in the class. To keep myself awake, I guess. However, I was shocked how entertaining he made it. You can tell he really likes his job, and he really tries to do minor things to spice it up. I was surprised when the two hours had already passed. If you need to renew or get a CPR license, then go here and get a show. It comes with complimentary soda, granola bars, coffee and water. Chow up and enjoy :) read more

I used to have it in San Francisco branch for a long time, The class was always good and precise. I just moved here and so glad to know they have a branch nearby. I was required to take a Basic Life Support (BLS) class for my new position with Sutter. Had to be a hands-on course through American Heart Association; couldn't be online. Sandy weeks was the instructor for this course and it was the best experience of a CPR training I've had in my 28 years in healthcare. She used a combination of parts of videos, spoken information and instruction, and hands-on practice using adult and infant mannequins, barrier devices, bag masks, AED simulators. Sandy has a long history with the fire department and is also a dance instructor. It shows! I left the class with the steps of the CPR choreography firmly in my muscle memory. read more

Had to do my renewal of BLS this year and decided to do the online course and 1hr skills lab at the facility. I usually do the 3hr classes at the facility but I was curious and wanted to try it out. The online course is straight forward just like in class. Then at the end you, take the test. Once you pass, you take your certificate with you to your skills lab before you can get your BLS ecard. The skills lab is the same you practice with the mannequin and infant dolls. I really enjoyed taking this class this way. Definitely will do it again. read more

I have been taking courses here since 2015 and I recommend STS to anyone looking for quality training. Their prices are affordable and even with these challenges presented by COVID we were able to practice our skills while staying safe. Been coming to these courses since 2015! Third time renewing with STS for BLS, first time at this Concord location. Just like the other location I've been to in San Francisco, we're welcomed during check-in with coffee/tea/granola bars, we start on time, and we end early. My instructor Nina was friendly, funny, and made the class go by quick and painless. Her jokes kept us chuckling and awake throughout the video portions and she was very hands on during the mannequin portions. She walked around to make sure everyone was doing the chest compressions correctly and that we all felt confident by the end of the class to perform CPR, if needed. After passing the test at the end of the course, she immediately gave me a CE certificate (for Dental professionals) and I received an email a few hours later where I could claim my BLS ecard certification. Highly recommend! read more

It was one of the closest options. I had a few bumps in the road, but was satisfied overall. If you are familiar with BLS techniques and just need to renew your certification, this is an outstanding option and one that I will certainly do in the future. There are two parts to the certification. First, you complete an online course. It's conveniently available 24/7 once pushed to you. It must be completed before your scheduled exam. It was loaded with helpful videos to pass the course. Then, you attend the exam which is an assessment of your new skills. It sounds scary but it's not. The computer prompts you with helpful instructions to pass. Heads-up, there is no staff at the center. You will receive a code to let you in at your scheduled time. Once there, sanitize your hands at the table, put gloves on, grab the ambu bags, sign into the computer, and follow the instructions. If you know what you are doing, you'll be done in 20 minutes. This process is so efficient. I loved having full autonomy over my success. You will too!

As a day care provider for the past 20 years, I am required by law to take a recertification class for CPR every other year. I have done this so many times, My schedule is that I have to take it between January and March of each year. Every class has an average of 10 students who each have to pay $70 to spend a whole day going over material. The day that I went was in January and was quite cold outside. However the room was was freezing as well. It was 52 degrees. When I asked the instructor whether they had any heat. she just laughed and said "That's so funny/." I was surprised that no effort was made to turn any heat on in the room. As we sat, none of us could take off any of our coats and those that had hoods on their coats soon had them around their faces and we had to hold our hands against our bodies to keep them warm. While others may be more timid, I am not one to suffer in silence and I repeatedly complained about the temperature. Finally the other students felt comfortable enough to join me in the complaints as well. We were so cold we could not even attempt to enjoy the cheap dollar store cookies and coffee provided as refreshments. I am a frequent visitor to the dollar stores so I immediately recognized the brands. I sipped at two cups of coffee,even though I didn't like it, just to try to warm up by drinking something hot and holding it in my hands. At one point, someone asked to let us at least open the curtains so that the sun could come through but we were told it could not be done, until one of the students got up and did it herself. The instructor did finally call someone to adjust or fix the heater but it was around noon before we had teat. Again the teacher's covering of the subject matter is not the issue in this review, it is the environment that I had a problem with and I am sure most other people did as well. And the fact that they were unwilling to spend even $5 per person on us for decent refreshments. The environment was so hostile due to the temperature, that I caught a cold and had to take the following Monday off work because I was too sick to attend to my job. I hope that the next time I have to take this class, the school will seriously take into consideration the comfort of the students.

I went to Concord STS CPR for my CPR/First Aid renewal class. I had gone to another school to get my first certificate and went to the Concord STS when I found out how close it was to my house. My instructor was Adam he was in the medical field and very knowledgeable. He stopped the video to go over hands on instructions and go into more details. For the First Aid portion of my class it was again hands on first aid. The other school I went to was all video for First Aid. Adam took the full time for the class and stayed after for questions and answers. When it comes time for my renewal I hope to come back to the Concord class. Adam was a Major difference in teachers from the other company. I came away from this class with more confidence and I will be ready when needed. I completed this class with Charles a few weeks ago but it was nothing short of amazing. It gave plenty of hands on opportunities and the price, i couldn't complain. I had made my appointment for a saturday morning class in berkeley but couldnt make my class they had no problem switching me over to a tuesday class and added me to it over the phone in concord where I live. If you want a friendly instructor and a class where you can get the personal attention you need when it comes to learning how to save a life I would recommend STS CPR. They also have classes available in Berkeley, San Jose and most of the Bay Area. The class is at the YV plaza which means dont gotta worry bout parking and they also provide snacks so all around a pleasant expeience. I took the community CPR/AED class last Sunday and couldn't be more pleased. First off, I really appreciate that they offer evening and weekend classes for us 9-5 folks. The parking was easy and the classroom was clean and organized, complete with snacks and beverages. The class was small, which made it easy for everyone to get enough practice in. J.P. was excellent and really made sure everyone was comfortable with the material and offered a lot of personal instruction if needed. I left feeling fully confidant in my new knowledge and that I could perform CPR and use an AED if needed. When it's time to renew my certification, I will only go through STS-they're the best! I took the CPR/First Aid training with AJ and he was excellent! The fact that he works as an EMT and firefighter was an added bonus because he has real experience and knowledge. His delivery was very good...funny, quick witted and knew how to make the class move along at a good pace. He always went over everything thoroughly and answered our questions. Last night, I attended an infant, child and adult CPR class taught by Charles. He was incredibly professional and knowledgable about safety training. The facility was brand new and very comfortable, he even offered soda, coffee, water and tea for no extra charge. Charles kept the class light hearted and moving quickly. Rasheed , in Concord, is a terrific instructor! He kept the class engaged and helped us understand the newest changes to the course, and why. Highly recommend this instructor. Note: two years ago I took a course from this company with a different instructor. I nearly did not sign up again, because that experience was so bad. Perhaps he was having a bad day, but that instructor seemed very bored and joked continually that we were going to "skip over X part real fast to get you guys out of here." Took the CPR for health care providers this weekend. Been taking these for 20+ years. This one was really good. The instructor was really personable and knows how to teach. The class was really full, but she had a great system for keeping things moving and there was no downtime at all and everyone had plenty of time and opportunity to practice their skills. She definitely had a handle on things. I know she can't, but it would be nice if she could just turn off the DVD. She did it better than the DVD and it was more a hindrance than a help. Just completed my renewal with STS in Concord. The sign up was easy, the instructor, Tomas, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and fun. He made the three hours go by very quickly! I was afraid a recent knee injury might pose a problem, but Tomas was more than willing to work with me should I have needed extra help physically maneuvering up and down on the mats. I felt very comfortable in his classroom and gained the knowledge I'll need should I ever be confronted with an emergency. Would highly recommend and will return in two years. Excellent class and facility. Easy online sign-up with no risk of penalty if you don't show up. The class was very focused on hands-on skills which eliminated the chance of boredom and dozing off. Our instructor was Daniel, who was very proficient in this field with real-world examples and personal experiences. I loved that when I signed up online, all of the information was there: where to park, what to bring, what to expect, etc. I knew I was getting the Red Cross cert that met my requirements.
