I was referred to Safelite to do my Progressive insurance windshield replacement. Scheduling the appointment was plain and simple. I had no problems what-so-ever. The guy came and installed my windshield with no hiccups. The windshield that they replaced mine with was great quality and looked identical to my original glass. The only problem I had was that the guy who did the install didn't seem like he liked his job, but more as just a job. I know that's not a big player as it doesn't represent the entire company, but thats the only problem I had during my entire experience. I did have to call Safelite back because it seemed like the windshield was not flush with the frame, but it seems like it's just because it hasn't sat in the sun long enough. Unfortunately, my car was broken into AGAIN leaving a window broken. But, on the bright side, I chose to use Safelite for a second time. This time, I had my car serviced at the Scott location. They were phenomenal! It didn't take long, probably about an hour to hour & a half. They even vacuumed the remaining shards of glass for me. Best Value, Best Service, & the BEST people! read more

I had a shallow chip from a rock on my brand new Nissan Versa. It was only about the size of a nickle. Safelite "Repaired" it. When I picked up my vehicle I noticed a small line to the right of the repair. In about 4 days it started spreading quickly both directions. I figured I could take it back in and fix the cracks. I was told I need to replace the whole windshield. I am convinced that they damaged the windshield further and all they will do is refund the repair. Safelite is scam. read more

I would give a 0 if it were an option. I scheduled an appointment and was rescheduled last minute because they had to order the windshield from the dealership, no problem. I rescheduled and they called the day of (after I rescheduled work) and said there was a system problem and needed to reschedule, no problem. I was rescheduled by the tech and they did not show up for this appointment. I called and was given no explanation or apology, the lead technician hung up on me and then did not answer the call again. I have yet to receive a call from the shop. This is the Scott location. I have since found a smaller company to use. At the end of this, I lost 3 days of work. read more

absolutely no customer service care AT ALL My first appointment was from 12-5 on a Friday. I took off work to be home. Tech called to say he'd call me around 2 with a better ETA. At 4:50, I started calling the customer care line which was unable to reach the shop or the tech. Best they could do was make an in shop appointment for me the following day. They also said they'd send an email to the store and district managers. I go to my appointment and not only did the manager NOT have an email about my case, they didn't even know I had been stood up the day before and they had the WRONG window after having wasted 2 hours of my time by not checking before starting to take my car apart. So reschedule for TWO WEEKS later at my work from 8-12. At 8:30 I started calling the service line again because while I'm supposed to be the first appointment, I haven't heard anything from the tech. They of course can't reach the shop or the tech. I get the "we will send an email" bit again, but I'm not holding my breath. I've called the shop repeatedly and no answer. This is the WORST place to do business with. Stay away. read more

Please do not take your vehicle to this place. After bringing my truck to them they wanted to replace the glass with the wrong glass until they could order the proper glass telling me that I would have wires hanging until they could get the correct glass in all the while taking out the old glass before informing me of this. After arguing with them and going back and forth I told them that this was unacceptable and they could put the old glass back in until they got the correct glass for my Mercedes truck. When the correct glass finally arrived and I went back they half completed the job saying they couldn't calibrate it and I would have to take it to Mercedes to complete the job. Upon inspection of what they did we realized they didn't seal everything back properly and had stuff that had cut that was now damaged. Needless to say I will now have to take my truck to the dealership for them to fix everything. This place is horrible and the techs are not knowledgeable and are not experienced enough to work on certain cars. The manager is rude and is not helpful, refusing to give me anything in writing after all of the errors they made. read more

Bad bad bad. I called Safelite because my long time repair guy was booked up and I was leaving town for 3 weeks and wanted to get a tiny repair fixed before I left. This was a small nick that could have been covered with a grain of rice, but being a 75k show car I wanted to get it fixed to make it as "invisible"'as possible. I've owned 40+ cars and have had dozens of chip repairs over the years but never lost a windshield. The guy arrived in time and started working on the tiny chip. After 22 minutes (all recorded on my cameras) of this guy prying and chiseling away on the windshield he says "I'm all done". What I now have is a 5" long crack that is visible from 10' away. Wtf!!! Never have I seen such poor work, but maybe since he was a pizza server that just started this part time a week ago I'm not surprised. (Found out after). I left town with the car under the cover and never looked at it until thanksgiving when I went to go to a show and the Winshield is now cracked nearly through 1/2 of the windshield. It now needs replacing and after 4 attempts over the last week I can't seem to reach a human at Safelite to discuss it. I knew something was wrong when the guy asked me no less than 2X "how much is your Insurance deductible?" Can't recommend in any capacity and the other bummer was I paid $144.00 for what other repair shops charge $50 to $75 for. Complete unprofessional ripoff. Don't let them touch your car! Update: I continued to try and contact a manager days after posting this and seeing the customer service comment below. (Of course they didn't leave a number or call me directly). After using the customer service "text" number I finally got a phone number to speak with a human. I spoke to 2 customer service reps and then was passed to a manager who after I explained everything and that I just wanted a refund stated "he isn't authorized to refund money like that". A whole $140.00. So he'll discuss it with some other manager and get back to me. You people are a friggin joke!!! read more

Technician Haven, had a attitude. Was offended because I inquired about my oil inspection sticker he kept saying I accused him of taking it, which is ridiculous, unless you planned on changing my oil dude. Did a real hack job on my inspection sticker, it's barely on the window. I suppose customers aren't allowed to ask questions. When I was sent company survey and wrote compliant I received same ridiculous response, "Technician did not steal your sticker" . Leads me to conclude he responded to his own survey. Horrible installation. Have a huge gap in the headliner and windshield on drivers side... side trim was falling off... top gasket sunken in on one side. Returned within 30 minutes and office guy stated the headliner wasn't anything they did. He wasn't even the one installing my windshield. I deep clean my car and get in every corner and nook on the windows and just did so before going there. The gap is big enough for my finger to fit in and the rough edges of the headliner are now visible which wasn't before. They looked it over and concluded they had to reschedule to replace this new one. I get home and also notice 3 chips in my paint along windshield edges on driver/ passenger sides to add to the already bad job. I am so over this company. The local location doesn't even have a direct line listed to call on the website. It's a 1-### automated number. Furioussss!!! read more

Thank you Safelite for fixing, literally, a bad situation. I had an hidden chip in my windshield that sprouted into full blown cracks very quickly so I knew the entire thing had to be replaced when I saw (not to mention I have only have the car 3 months). I reached out to my dealership and they don't fix windshields but they recommended another glass company. Upon inquiry, I found out the were a first come, first serve establishment and I was going to need to come in so they could see what I needed. So possibly 2 appointments and an unknown length of time. I have seen Safelite commercials all my life and took a chance... yes, one nearby my city! I booked an appointment online for 2 days later and knew the day, time, length and price within minutes. I provided my car info so they were able to confirm they had what was needed to repair my vehicle. Got there, checked in right away. Staff was super nice, waiting room had plenty of space. Great surprise, I was planning 2-3 hours and they were done in just over 1. In addition, I was planning on stopping at my dealership service department to get a new inspection sticker, but again, another surprise, they took the care to remove the sticker in a way that it could be placed back on. The car was clean and you couldn't even tell someone was working in it. Those little things mean a lot and made this experience all the better. I made my appointment on the phone with a rep, they knew it was a Mercedes hard too, I stated top was not working at this time. 2 weeks on appt day guy calls me verified everything shows up and after messing up my molding and cracking my windshield he says he can't do it without the top down and calls someone to verify, when I sod he cracked the window he said he didn't think it mattered. My original crack was on passenger side and I would still be able to inspect my car, he cracked on driver side in line of vision so now I can't inspect my car-not to mention the damage he did to my gasket and molding, he just left. I had to call and file a complaint. How pathetic. Update I was told by the manager Vince to bring the car Monday morning. I did for them to say they couldn't do it, why make me take off work and waste my time. They said they will order molding and give to me, not acceptable you BROKE IT YOU NEED TO HAVE IT FIXED AND REPLACE IT!!!! waiting on GM to call me back. Gave them vehicle vin # truck equipment as lane departure, headlight dimming, rain sensor etc. They bombarded me with text messages to show up with wrong windshield. I took off 5 hrs of un payed work hours to get told we have wrong windshield. How is that possible why is that possible. I was told there are 4 different windshields for F250 so why not bring all 4. Outstanding 06/19/2021 Joseph O A rock cracked my windshield on my way from Texas to Louisiana. The temperature was very high and I was worried that the crack will expand. I drove to the nearest safelight shop on my route and here I was, without appointment. The gentleman I spoke with was awesome, very customer oriented. He told me that their truck was out, but should be back in about 30 minutes if I can wait. I chose to wait, he took the time to help me fill out the insurance claims and drove us to a restaurant where we could rest and grab a bite. By the time we came out from the restaurant, the glass was already repaired. I am sorry that I didn't get the crews names, but they were all very professional. The individual who did the repairs took the time to explained that the crack was big and that the line will be visible but I shouldn't worry because it is not going to crack further. On 9/9/13, I purchased a new windshield from the Safelite in Scott, La. I had the service done at their shop and when I got my car back, I noticed an area of about six inches by six inches in the lower left corner of the glass that was warped. Obviously, the windshield was defective. I immediately returned to the shop and asked the manager, Vince, to take a look at. He spent about 30 seconds in the car and claimed he couldn't see any problems. When we went back into the shop he said he would install a new glass but acted as if he were doing me a favor. I found this quite frustrating since I had just paid him $258 in cash 15 minutes before. He said he didn't have an appointment the next day so I would have to come back two days later. The more I drove the car with the defective glass the more annoyed I became so I took several photos that clearly showed the distortion in the glass. I called Safelite customer service to complain that afternoon and they were able to get my appointment moved up to the next day. When I arrived at the shop to get the new glass, there were five techs standing around the waiting room gossiping. And they didn't have any appointment slots that day?! Vince allowed me to inspect the new glass (which was fine) and Tommy installed it. When I showed Vince the pictures that clearly showed the distortion in the glass he just shrugged his shoulders and remained silent. When I asked if defective glass was a common problem, he became defensive and said, "Well, there can be problems with anything man does." Yeah, sure, I get that but an apology goes a long way with me, especially when I'm driving 40 minutes to get repair work done. And why didn't Tommy inspect the glass before he installed it? No one in the shop once apologized for the defective glass or inconvenience it was causing me, instead they got defensive. Avoid the Safelite in Scott, La., go to Alexandria or Baton Rouge instead. read more
