In addition to my previous review, I wanted to add some updates to emphasize the poor service quality of this establishment. After receiving a quote of 5-7 days of shipping time for the "OEM" or Dealership glass to arrive, they informed me that the dealership has delayed the glass arrival by an additional 5-7 days! Yay! My glass has been broken for over a month and now, my glass has been extremely cracked for almost 2 weeks. This morning was likely the worst call of all. Safelite called me and informed me that they dropped my windshield after it had arrived at the facility and that it would be an additional 5-7 days before they could repair again. The man on the phone seemed sympathetic but I highly doubt that since they handled the only windshield that works for my car with such recklessness and disarray. This is officially the worst car experience ever! I wish I would've went literally anywhere else. I am in disbelief with the complete lack of care, compassion or empathy. read more

I was heading west on I-10 and a semi kicked a rock up at my windshield around around 1145A on a Monday morning. The crack was very small. The weather is starting to get down into the 40s at night so I was worried about the crack growing overnight. I called Safelite and made a 230P appointment the same day. I got to Safelite at 220P. They took the car in at 250P. When they took the car, I was told it would take 30 minutes. The car was finished at 330P. All together 70 minutes to get the crack filled seems reasonable. The crack is still a little visible but my main goal was to keep the crack from growing. When it came time for payment, the service manager asked me cash or card. I asked why insurance wasn't covering it. They told me that the service rep I booked the appointment through on the phone made my appointment without insurance. I asked if that could be updated and they told me they couldn't. They told me I could submit my receipt to my insurance company for reimbursement. Easy for them mean extra steps for me. read more

I am not sure what to think about Safelite's service. I filed a claim last Friday afternoon and a tech came out Saturday. Great! He advised me my windshield will need to be replaced (not a problem). Will order windshield and someone would call me this week to schedule appointment to replace. Also told me due to the type window being replaced it may need to be calibrated which require me bringing it into the shop (not a problem)......"THE PROBLEM IS" I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM ANYONE NOR CAN I REACH YOU ALL BY PHONE. Great service and had warranty work without any issues. Had an issue with a scratch I. The new glass and they saw it and replaced.

We are traveling and a rock put a large chip in our windshield. When you call their number it really wants you to use the automated phone service to get an estimate and schedule an appointment. It's not always that easy especially when your on vacation. We were on the automated call way to long , when we decided to drive to the location and actually talk to a human about the crack , yes by now it's a crack, in our windshield. Super helpful and friendly fellow greeted us with a smile and said he could come right out and look at our windshield. The crack by now was 4 inches long and we still had 2000 miles to go on our trip home. We were looking to stop the crack and replace the windshield when we got home , who knows what else we would encounter on the road going home. I asked about drilling the crack to stop it and with a big Southern smile he said , "Naw, we don't drill cracks to stop cracks, that weakens the windshield " . With that same big smile he let us know that he would be happy to set up an appointment to replace our windshield. We are going to continue our journey back to the West Coast and monitor the crack as we go , it's not in our line of vision and we will get it replaced when we end our 5000 mile journey. I needed to have my wipers adjusted after having the windshield replaced. I called to schedule it and they said it was an easy fix, so they scheduled it at my home with a 5 hour window. After waiting around all day, I called to check and see when they were coming and they said my appt had been cancelled and that someone called and left a voicemail that morning. I did not receive a missed call or a voicemail. Furthermore, they said the reason it was cancelled was because my windshield needed recalibration and they could only do that in the shop. My windshield did not need that, so I don't know why they thought that. Anyway, I didnt feel like waiting around on another day, so I took my car into the shop where they doubted that adjusting the wipers would solve the squeaking problem, but I asked them to do it anyway. Guess what, it solved the problem and I was in and out in 15 mins. I hope I never have to go to this location again, they lie and make up problems. Not impressed! read more

Had a cracked windshield on our SUV a week ago while out of town and on a time crunch. Safelite refused to talk to me in person and would only schedule online. Only time available was the day I had to be back in another state, 2 day drive away. I miss the days of true customer service. This is also sad as I had a cracked windshield (thanks truck in Mobile, AL !) in my little 4d sedan 3 years previously and safelite did a wonderful & timely job. My first appointment was scheduled for April 8, 2022 from 12 to 5 pm. I received a email on April 7 reminding me of my appointment. On April 8 no one email, texted, or called about my appointment and no one ever showed up at my house. I tried to reach out Safelite by leaving messages and emails no response. On April 11 Safelite send me a email stating my appointment had been rescheduled for April 15 from 12 to 5 pm. I received a call on April 15 at 12:17 pm from the technician stating he would arrive from 4 to 4:30 pm which he did and did a awesome job. When he called me at 12:17 pm I asked him to have a manager call me. No one ever called. So to make it short I've wasted 9 or 10 hours waiting on Safelite out of Midway Florida. Sadly, this was my second windshield replacement. Safelite has and will continue to be my go to auto glass repair company. The technician was on time, professional, knowledgeable, friendly. He completed the replacement of the windshield timely and was thoughtful in explaining what he was going to do. After replacing we cleaned the area and inside the car. Great customer service, poor execution. After I had to wait another day so that someone could come out to replace my side window, the technician that was able to make it out didn't even have a vacuum. I was under the impression that they vacuumed out your car as one of the services provided. I was also under the impression from reading the services online and from talking to someone, that they cleaned all interior and exterior windows when finished, which was also not completed. From the start the communication was rough, I was quoted the wrong number, almost $175 less than actual cost, and no one thought to fact check the person I was speaking with. Whenever my other technician called out, I had already been waiting just about 3 hours, missing class, to find out they didn't have anyone else they can send. I was told that someone would be out at 9 am sharp. Fast forward to the next day, the person coming out was not even aware of the changes in his schedule from yesterday, and he told me he would be at my house between 11 and 1. To sum up this review, I am having to bring my car in on Monday so they can finish the job they never completed on Friday. It was already a headache getting my car broken in to, now the headache is just continuing. read more

I had an appointment window today for someone show up between Noon and 5pm. Received two email confirmations leading up to my appointment today. Yet, no one ever showed. No one ever called to say they weren't showing up. Took the whole afternoon off to wait for them. Tried calling several times to check and held for 30 minutes both times before Safelite disconnected my call. And now I have to reschedule. And take another afternoon off. A++++++++++ Story Time! We headed to Tallahassee from Jacksonville, and after dropping the dog off at the sitter, we were crossing the trusty (scary, awesome, use whichever adjective fits) the Buckman Bridge, and bam, a big ugly truck, screaming black fumes hits a bump, and some debris flies off and hits the windshield. No big deal, we didn't see any marks, so we went on our merry little way. After chugging a red bull, we needed a pit stop, so hit one up and got back in the car. Out of NOWHERE, a crack about 3-4 inches long was creeping up my windshield! Still not the biggest deal, as I heard rumors that replacing windshields in Florida was covered by insurance, so off again we went. I thought I was seeing things, as I swore to Adam the crack was getting bigger. I've been a bit nervous about driving since a recent accident, but I just knew it was growing! I had Adam get into my bag for a tube of lipstick, and marked the spot where the cracked stopped. And, despite some popular belief, lol, I wasn't crazy. The crack continued to inch it's way slowly, another 2-3 inches before we reached Tally. We get to the hotel and I call my insurance company, feeling relieved that this would be taken care of (I also googled some info, and it is illegal to drive with a cracked windshield.) Well, it seems my lovely insurance company decided that my coverage wasn't comprehensive enough, and unless it went over my deductible, I was pretty much out of pocket screwed. Back to Yelp for a quick search and found Safelite. One click from Yelp to the website, enter the make and model of the car, get estimate, schedule appt. and done. All in less than 5 minutes. I thought for sure "I'd made a huge mistake" for this to be so easy! So, I was ready for the appointment window, and the guy called 15 minutes before and was there on time. He came right to the hotel, was very nice, and was done in about 30-45 minutes. Boom. Left me with verbal instructions and some more in a pamphlet, and I was saved! So $400 bucks later (thank redacted insurance company) Safelite took care of me, and got me on the road home legally, and safely. Would totally recommend. (And will.) read more

I came in with 2018 Nissan Titan to get the back glass fixed and I brought it all the way to midway from Tallahassee because they said they had the power sliding glass until after a whole day of waiting I decide to go there because their phone was disconnected to find out they ordered the wrong window. I thought that was the end because they said they could come to my house and do the job there so a week and a half goes bye the guy comes with the wrong rear window again so I call Safelite again in Midway to make sure they order the right power sliding glass for my Titan because I wanted to make sure they got the right one and I just went there today after calling them because they said that my truck was complete only to see my truck in the parking lot with the tape still on the window BECAUSE THEY ORDERED THE WRONG GLASS AGAIN, I WILL NEVER BE USING SAFELITE AGAIN AND I WILL GLADLY RECOMMEND STAYING AS FAR FROM THIS COMPANY AS POSSIBLE, at least at this location. This review is not for this location specifically because the gentleman who spoke to with my girlfriend was very helpful and seemed genuinely disappointed they couldn't help but Safelite in general preaches, or so it seems, that anywhere anytime you can get a repair. Those very memorable commercials showed techs going to ball games and movie theaters to fix windshields to not interrupt the lives of their customers. So it was extremely shocking and surprising to me that not one location from Pensacola, FL to North Port, FL, about 450+ miles could fix my windshield after a buzzard flew into it on the interstate. The car is a rental but my insurance and claim were approved but no one available until Thursday. Thursday?! Even after offering to the location because we were traveling back home. We must have called every Safelite off of I-10 or I -75. Again this specific location was great, but overall the company should be more like we will fix your windshield if you make an appointment a week or so in advanced and can predict ahead of time when you'll need it. Of course they own the market on their type of thing so if it happens again I'll be forced to use the company again. Just hope it'll be a faster turn around next time, maybe the Safelite has the luxury of being with out a vehicle for a week...I don't. read more

I NOW NEED A FULL WINDSHIELD REPAIR, THEY MADE THE CRACK 10x BIGGER This is why I'm disappointed in my safelite experience. I won't call it a repair since my car's windshield was in worse condition after this company "fixed" my car. My husband and I recently purchased our first vehicle, naturally while driving the car a week later we get hit by a rock falling off of a gravel truck on the highway. This created a small crack on our windshield no bigger than 1cm of our brand new car so we were eager to have it fixed. Safelite was covered by our insurance so we decided to use their "services". It was raining on the day that the technician came and fixed our car, I don't know why I'm including this but in my mind it had something to do with the defective Safelite repair I received. The technician had trouble even finding the tiny crack in our windshield so I showed him where it was. One day later there is a huge crack at least one foot long now on the windshield of our new car. When I called the Safelite customer service call center I was told that sometimes Safelite repairs do not work and the crack may even spread. It was now five hundred dollars to replace my entire windshield through Safelite. I asked to speak to a supervisor at the call center. He informed me that they refunded my insurance company for the sixty dollar Safelite repair that took place. This is just a public warning that Safelite can potentially make your small cosmetic crack into a total windshield repair and the company will take zero responsibility for the action. Choose wisely, maybe a small business first. read more

After successfully using Safelite in Richmond, VA I went to the their Midway, FL location. What a disaster! I first drove the 40 miles roundtrip for my scheduled appointment to be told that the ordered part wasn't there. They scheduled an appointment at the house, but showed up with the wrong part. 10 days later and multiple appointment failures on their part, the part still isn't here and the mirror hasn't been fixed. I have moved on to the local Honda dealer and now have much different opinion of Safelite AutoGlass. I don't know whether it is a company wide issue or a local management failure. read more

I took my vehicle in to get the windshield replaced. The service had to be performed at the shop because of the type of vehicle own. I dropped the vehicle off for a drop off appointment at 9 AM that morning the tech didn't start on the replacing the windshield until about 4 PM that evening an hour before they closed. Previously I knew the job would take an average of 2 to 3 hours. The tech called me and asked about replacing the windshield wiper blades because apparently they were in terrible condition I did notify them that they had been change three days prior to the dropping the vehicle off for the appointment and they still pushed to replace the windshield wiper blades. OK? I declined. Anyway they called me at 5:30 letting me know that the vehicle is done and ready to be picked up however the shop was closed already and In not so many words if I wasn't able to get there promptly to get my vehicle I was gonna have to pick it up the next day which was a little irritating because they obviously started the job super late after having it all day and I knew they rushed it. The tech even offered to leave my car key somewhere so that I can retrieve it and in my opinion that's completely unacceptable. Upon leaving the facility my wife noticed almost immediately that there was an issue with the windshield not being sealed properly I went out for a ride with her whenever we got home and you can both hear and feel wind entering the vehicle from the driver side. I called the next day and asked if this is normal they said give it three days and it should help with the glue setting. I gave it three days and still observed the sound and air coming into the vehicle. Now what gets me so irritated about the situation is I now have to take MORE time off of work or personal to fix their mess up which in my opinion could've been avoided. It's absolutely B.S. and safelite needs to do better. read more

I bumped my appointment up because I saw one available with the scheduling tool. Expected the tech between 8-12pm. 12:02, I called to ask for an ETA. Turns out, the tech wasn't even in that day and supposedly nobody in the store on Commerce knew. Nobody thought to make a call or anything, certainly I wasn't his only appointment for today. So, I get scheduled for a 3pm in Midway. 3pm comes and I'm told, oh, this is a replacement, not a repair. Why was I ever scheduled for a repair in the first place? No one ever asked for pictures or called about anything related to the cracks. So, I had to be scheduled for tomorrow (4/9/22), only to get home at 3:30pm and magically see a 4pm appointment slot open. The staff (chase or Jason, something like that) wasn't the best. I stood at the window 10 minutes before he even acknowledged me, I had no clue he was the receptionist because he was on his cell. I certainly hope I never have to return to this location. read more

This is one of the worst experiences I could have imagined. My appointment was rescheduled 8 times and some of those were without me knowing. I took off work to be at my place for there 5 HOUR WINDOW, only to find out at the end of the 5 hours the technician that was supposed to come work on my car had to get recertified. This caused the 9th reschedule where I again had to call and ask where my technician was because it was 4:30 pm and they aren't supposed to work past 5. I talked to probably every single worker in the midway, FL office including the manager. The manager finally got a clue after the 6th reschedule and waived the mobile fee and gave me free wipers. I then learned he INCREASED THE PRICE OF THE GLASS to makeup for the discounts he had given me and thought I wouldn't notice. When the technician came (finally) he asked me to sign for the price and I asked to call the manager because it was not the price he had given me. I pulled up the email and the technician said sorry and I have to deal with it. I did not sign the sheet confirming the payment and yet they still charged my credit card. I was without a back glass for 25 days and got overcharged. Unbelievable. read more

Had a small chip in windshield less than the size of a pencil eraser with 3 small cracks radiating out from it. The whole damage area was smaller than a dime in diameter. Took it to local glass shop who stated it could be repaired but their machine was broken. Called Safelite who scheduled a field repair. The tech called to confirm appointment to fix windshield & arrived on time. She was very pleasant, but when finished, the damage looked exactly the same, no improvement. Part of the chip didn't get any resin in it, so now it will fill up with dirt. I said I didn't think my husband would be happy with the repair & she stated I could have the price of the repair applied towards the price of a windshield replacement, if I wasn't satisfied. I paid via credit card & drove back to Bennett's Glass. The owner (who's been in business for decades) stated the repair was "a bad job" & stated my only option was to replace the entire windshield, as the damage could not be re-repaired. I called Safelite & spoke with Clayton Moore, who stated that the disclaimer I signed on the tech's cell phone at the start of the repair states that that repairs are only to keep the cracks from getting worse, but not intended to make the damage look better cosmetically. He stated it was very common for chip repairs to not look any better & happened "every day." I said that since that was "very common & happened every day," someone should've clearly explained that to me, instead of telling me they were going to fix my damage. I was standing outside in the bright sun and it was very difficult for me to read the disclaimer. I even moved onto my porch to try to read it better, but couldn't see it well. Not wanting to hold her up, I signed it. I asked to speak to a district manager, who apologized and offered to apply the repair price towards a windshield replacement but I declined. He then offered to refund the price of the repair & I agreed, although now, I cannot get the damage fixed, but must replace the windshield. I am going to have Bennett's do the replacement. I give Safelite a plus for: tech on time & courteous, district manager called me back promptly & offered to refund my repair cost. I give Safelite a minus for: failure to clearly explain that there was a very good chance my damage would look the same as before, not filling the chip with sufficient resin to fill the chip area completely. read more

On time. Great guy. Professional. Fast. Explained everything! Took care of my car! This was by far the easiest experience with having my windshield replaced. I was away from home sitting by my grandfather's bedside and there was no way I was leaving him, Safelite came to me and replaced my windshield so fast I think it was 30 minutes or less. Clean job. I have not required windshield replaced in a long time, but the service Travis provided yesterday reminded me when customer service was important to businesses. Came to my job, advised that it would be about 30 min., and when that time had passed, not only was the new windshield installed, the mirror was reinstalled, car vacuumed, ALL windows cleaned, everything wiped down, paperwork completed. . . . .OMG! And to top it off. . . . he was just clearly a nice guy to boot! I don't see the need to shop around anymore. I know where to go and where to recommend others to go - Safelite - Midway! read more
