Restaurant review, not the marina…read more We went to Mitchell Creek Restaurant to visit some friends who had just bought a houseboat. We showed up a full hour before their posted closing time, only to be told the restaurant was "on a break." Five minutes later, that story changed now they were suddenly "closing early because they ran out of food." Honestly, that sounded like a lazy excuse. It felt like the staff just didn't want to work. The worst part? The marina had actually hired a band to play that night, but all the customers left because the restaurant basically shut down. Completely ridiculous. This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. There are far better places around Dale Hollow Lake, and we definitely won't be back. We usually try to give new places a fair shot, but this one blew it completely.

I…read morehave camped and been on the lake my entire life and I can say this was the best lake experience of my life. If you are on the fence about renting a houseboat from here, don't be. Just rent the houseboat! You won't regret it! The houseboat itself was amazing, it was in GREAT shape for a rental, newly renovated, everything worked flawlessly! The staff and crew are 5 star peeps! Nicest most southern charm people you can find on the lake! They do all the work for you, they can pick you a nice spot or you pick your own.. they will drive it out.. tie it up.. bring you more gas for the generator if you need it.. anything.. they are on it! I actually have made friends with some of the crew just by chatting and sharing stories. The Marina itself is awesome!! Come relax in some chairs, get a bite to eat, do some shopping, play some cornhole, large jenga or even large connect 4... lights... music... I can't say enough great things and I have zero negative things to say. We are already booking it again for next year and a full week!! If you have thought of or dreamed of trying out a houseboat, don't wait anymore I promise you will make the best memories you can make with you loved ones!

I prefer this side of the lake anyway so you don't have a ton of options but for what you pay, improvements should be made. They redid the dock story last year after new ownership and that's about it. The steps to the parking lot are over grown with weeds and unusable, and the overnight boat slips are always filled with trash, nothing to tie up to, and half of the slips are unusable. I won't stop coming here, but this place has a lot of work to do.

When we pulled up to meet our friends on the water, they looked at our pontoon and said "wow that pontoon's been through a lot." There was mold all over the seats. The boat would not shift into gear easily. There was no anchor so we couldn't dock anywhere. We won't return to this marina. We also addressed our concerns with management and their response was "you guys are abuncha democrats." We've been boaters for 20 years and have visited lakes all over the country. We've never had this experience. On the bright side, the lake was really beautiful, and there are plenty of other marinas on the lake we will use in the future.

We wanted to check out Dale hollow lake so we rented a boat here. We came with my handicap mother in law. I called a week prior to make sure the facility is handicap accessible and they said yes and they even had a golf cart to help. We came to the marina and saw there was extremely steep ramp leading to the docks. We thought no big deal, they have a golf cart. After checking out and paying, they told us the cart was no working it had a dead battery and was charging. I understand things break so no big deal. W e went to the public boat launch to pick her up. After we loaded her up on the pontoon, I had to call the boat rental office because the boat was not starting. The female in the office immediately answered and said "I'm hanging up now". I tried calling back but for some reason it seemed as if I was blocked. Regardless, I figured out the issue. But the huge issue with the whole facility was upon checking out. We got to the return area and asked the dock hands if the golf cart was working and they said no. After talking back and forth a few times they explicitly said the ramp is "NOT SAFE" for wheelchairs and I would have to use the public boat launch at the other side. We asked if they could help with the issue and they flat out said "NO WE CANT LEAVE". So we went around the whole facility via boat again which round trip took 30 minutes. Unloaded her on the ramp (she ended up falling and hurting her knee) and I went back to the drop off area again. This is where we met GLEEN STONE general manager. My wife had encounters with him while I was driving the boat back. Some highlights of the conversation were getting in her face and yelling at her, making governmental party slurs at her and even called her and her father a liar. He came aggressively up to me and said "you look like a big strong man why couldn't you push her up". I said because we were told it wasn't safe and I was busy driving the boat all around the docks. We asked other workers and they said they have never seen it done before. And his reply was "just cuz they haven't seen it doesn't mean it has been done before". At this point, I realized there was no reasoning with this ignorance. I even took a picture of the gas charge to make sure they didn't charge as I have zero faith in this facility. A bystander even told us before that he complained about the wheelchair/golf cart issue with no avail. So unfortunately this does seem like a common problem and complaint. A little info about the boat itself. The boat itself was nice enough for the price. However no anchor or dock lines were included which made hanging out in the lake a bit of a challenge
