How do you expect patrons to launch and not have a place to park?! We could've easily launched at the public ramp and atleast been able to park there! Worst marina on the lake this place needs new owners and management.

We've been coming to Eastport for years and my family docks and stores our boats with Eastport-…read morewe're definitely fans! It's always so relaxing at Eastport, the staff is always friendly, and it's one of our favorite places to get away for the weekend that's not too far from home. This is definitely the "quieter" end of Pickwick lake which is really nice because the waves are so much less choppy and it's easier to dock your boat at the end of the day. My parents loved moving our family over to this end because it was safer for my younger sister to take out the jetski without fear of her getting run over or an accident happening. Definitely a friendly community that's a ton of fun to be around! It's hard to schedule boat cleanings and maintenance and to find someone to do it in a timely manner, which is common for Tishamingo county, but it is a hassle. The dock is a bit older so it's a tad run down but it's definitely safe. The only draw back to being on the "quiet" side of the lake is that you have to take your boat a good 30-45 minutes down the lake to go to dry creek or the falls where everyone hangs out and tethers their boats together for the day. there are some really fun hang out spots near by the marina but they're much quieter than the other spots on the lake. This end of the lake is also not as pricey for real estate and boat slips which is super convenient. They still have gas stations to fuel your marine crafts and a grill to grab a bite to eat!

Come for the burgers, leave because of the incompetent waitresses…read more Let's get this straight. I'm only reviewing the restaurant. Not the marina. The only reason this place got two stars is because they have fantastic burgers. Too fantastic. I get the feeling they have something incredibly unhealthy in them. But they're very very tasty. They come with fries. Fries, as in barely plural. You might get eight if you're lucky. Honestly, the cheeseburgers are all I've tried here. They serve alk-ee-holic drinks, too. The main problem (and it's a big one) is the waitresses. Maybe they're understaffed. Maybe they're just plain dumb. At this point, it's a coin toss which one is true. I've waited 15 minutes before on service, while the waitress passes me 7 times, trying to not make eye contact. I get the feeling they get frustrated trying to tie their shoes in the morning. So here's the secret. If there's no one else eating there, they'll be friendly. Too friendly, in fact. I got sick of hearing the waitress give me a song-by-song rundown of the karaoke from the night before. Leave me alone with my cheeseburger. If they're busy, forget getting decent service. They're overwhelmed by more than two customers. "Have you two been helped?" "Well, considering you're the only waitress, that would be... no." The best way to enjoy this place is when you don't care how long you spend here. It's a beautiful view, completely surrounded by water. Stay and watch what my waitress called an "irraluscent " sunset. "Excuse me?" "Irraluscent. You know, all those colors." "Right. okay." They have live music and karaoke at night, which might be fun. I haven't checked it out yet. The service might seem more reliable if it's dark. And you're drunk. And suffering from third-degree burns from being out on the lake all day.

We needed to resupply and Ava and Captain Kyle graciously loaned us a vehicle to go into town. They were the kindest people and were happy to help us out. Higher Pursuits made…read morebooking online really easy, the pricing was fair, many different options as to what type of boat you wanted for the day, and offered updates on Facebook in regards to weather/closings for the day. The location was really easy to find, once we arrived we checked in and were offered some general information about what to do and the location of changing rooms/restrooms. We were also given instructions about the route we would be floating, the vast collection of mussels we may see, and information about other wildlife we may come across, and safteg information. The launch is a quick drive from the base location. The employees were all very friendly and helpful. They got us all set up and sent us on our way. The water was shallow, but still had some nice current in places. The Duck River was extremely peaceful, and not over crowded (the spacing out between groups from Higher Pursuits helped with that greatly). Getting picked up at the end, and knowing where to stop was also made to be a breeze. Higher Pursuits runs things like a well oiled machine and really has a great system going! Between the ease of everything, the peaceful kayaking location, and the friendly customer service I could not have asked for a better experience!
