We took our sandwiches to go, but had we stayed there couldn't have been much room. It's a very small restaurant with only a few tables. You walk in and are overwhelmed with the smell of freshly baked pita and different spices. The tiles in the kitchen add a nice color to the tiny space. Highly recommend this hidden gem!! Service: The staff here are so welcoming & friendly. It honestly made the dining experience that much better -- they went around offering freshly made traditional coffee and popcorn after the meal. There is a bar section and a table dining section. There is also a circular nook inside where one can enjoy a more circular, cultural seating arrangement. This is a great place to enjoy a casual dinner that's a bit more intimate, in my opinion. I enjoyed my company/meal so much that I forgot to take pictures of my food! But, here are a couple of photos of the traditional coffee cup and honey wine glass. Overall, I highly recommend Bejte if you are Berlin. We walked in and got seated immediately. Looking through the menu, I realized, to my dismay, this restaurant didn't serve what I was looking for. Whatever, I was hungry, and we both wound up ordering the menu item closest to the Doener Kebab. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it's called, but it's very similar to a gyro, but instead of pita, the fillings are wrapped in their bread that's baked in a tandoori oven (Tandur Brot). The filling...omg, it was DELICIOUS. At first, I thought it was so good because I was hungry. Nope, whatever combination of spices they use to flavor the meat is a wonderful one. Every single bite was flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and well-balanced with the lettuce, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes wrapped into what looked like a super-skinny burrito/taco. Cost including a bottle of water? About 5 euros. Good deal and am totally coming back here when I go and visit Berlin again.
