I laid back in a soft pedi chair and soaked my feet. She exfoliated all the winter grossness off and gave me calve massages. I was able to choose from a number of opi colors. It was quiet and serene. For the facial the skin therapist isn't there any more. She was fantastic and got me into the Skin Script skin care products. I am faithful to my eyelash lady, Crystal. I seriously don't know what i would do without her. She also waxes my eyebrows. She is top in her league. I'd read the reviews and was not under the impression that I would be pampered in a Plaza-esque environment; however, I was totally unprepared for unreturned phone calls, sporadic emails, text rants, and ultimately, being stood up. After two weeks of emailing & phoning Anna for an appointment or consultation (at the least), I finally got her attention by texting that I would've gladly paid a fee for her time and attention. I received a six screen defensive text in return that mentioned 1) her duties as a mother/wife/ and devoted member of her church; 2) that women in KC were obviously unaccustomed to the level of service she had to offer when it came to hair; 3) she was in the process of training an assistant, but was running 3 successful businesses (umm, ok..and?) And lastly, 4) "Money was never an issue". Needless to say, I offered that I hadn't meant to offend. I simply wanted her to know I was serious about her services and was willing to pay for a consolation, if necessary. The exchange ended with her apologizing for coming off confrontational and a promise to send a confirmation email for my appointment that Saturday at 8am. Mind you, I still had no idea where this woman was located, so the confirmation email (with an address/directions) was pretty crucial. That was Thursday, June 8th. The next evening I reminded her of our upcoming appointment and my need for her address, but I never heard a word from her. Now in my 40 years on this planet, I've never had to chase a service provider down to take $400+ from me. I've also never had a so-called professional play mind games or operate so vindictively. Who apologizes for their lack of communication, promises an appointment, and then goes ghost on a client? Can't think of anyone? I can. Anna Thornton.

When I got there I was surprised it was a room in a garage because she made it sound like the salon was in a business district. The first thing I noticed was the lack of mirrors and lighting. Not a big deal but because I was getting a weave I was concerned. Six hours, many many breaks by Anna and random outbursts about her being a grandmother and she isn't even 30 left me about 400 lighter. My head was a different story. Either she doesn't know or care about tension braiding and natural looking weaves because I took that mess she called a sew in down 2 days later. Save the trip and aggravation, get a wig or go to somebody else.

It can be hard to find a stylist willing to do color for kids, but she has done both my son and my daughter in fantasy colors, fully customizing the design to their wishes (once a full on crayon rendering of what my daughter wanted).
