Yet, at the consultation yesterday, I was blindsided when the doctor told me they do not offer these services to women older than 46. The staff scheduling appointments should know this and be transparent. I could have mentally prepared to hear they could only offer using donor sperm AND eggs. Furthermore, when I scheduled, I asked if they did labs and US for AFC on the same day, to which they replied yes. Yesterday, I was on day 3 of my menstrual cycle, the optimal timing for these studies. None of these studies were offered. Of note, other fertility centers check an AFC as part of their initial consultation to guide the recommendations. That makes sense! Assuming infertility based on age is dismissive. I haven't even tried natural conception. My personal data (labs and AFC) would have helped to understand my fertility potential, rather than applying research from primarily black/white/asian data on a Latina and condemning me to using other people's DNA. Charging $75 to schedule an appointment without transparency of their services to then bill a consult is unacceptable. I gave an additional star because I was given a referral to a center that treats women over 46. I was offered to cancel the consult, but I chose to continue so I could try to understand the options they offer. Furthermore, the front desk staff was unable to answer a simple question of how long HRC has been in business. This location did not meet my expectations, but hopeful it will for others.

I would not recommend West Coast Fertility based on our experience. What began as a consultation…read moreturned into a pattern of medication errors, poor communication, inadequate preparation for a painful procedure, rushed care, and repeated billing problems that ultimately caused my fiancé and me to discontinue treatment. The first major concern was that I was prescribed a medication that I am allergic to. In fertility treatment, where medication management is critical, that immediately raised concerns about attention to detail. Our consultation/procedure was scheduled for a specific amount of time because both my fiancé and I were attending during our lunch breaks. The appointment ran substantially over. During the visit, the physician took a phone call, and by the end everything felt rushed because we needed to return to work. During my procedure, I experienced severe pain and ultimately passed out afterward. I understand that patients tolerate procedures differently, but I did not feel adequately prepared for the possibility of that level of pain or what to expect. The billing issues are what ultimately destroyed our confidence. Before the appointment, we received written communication stating that my responsibility would be $500 for the hysterosonogram and that Natera would carry a $30 copay. The same email stated that if my spouse had Natera plus his infectious-disease panel drawn, there would be a $30 copay for his appointment as well. His insurance was not verified before his blood was drawn. He did not learn until afterward that the clinic said they could not use his Kaiser insurance for the infectious-disease testing. He was then charged $500. When I questioned that charge, the clinic emailed that they were unsure why he had been charged the full amount and that they could refund $470. Later, the explanation changed. We were told the $500 was for the infectious-disease panel and that he had agreed to pay it. Our issue was not whether he eventually handed over his card after the testing had already been performed. The issue was that he was not given clear pricing and an opportunity to decline a $500 out-of-pocket test before the service was performed. There was also a separate Natera billing issue. Before testing, the only written pricing we received from the clinic was a $30 copay. Only after testing was completed were we told Natera could cost $649, with a purported West Coast Fertility contracted rate of $250. I then received an approximately $1,100 Natera bill. My own billing also required correction. I paid $500 at the appointment, but after insurance processed the claim, my EOB showed a lower patient responsibility and I had to request a refund. At that point, the issue was no longer just money. It was the pattern: medication error, inadequate preparation for a painful procedure, a rushed appointment, failure to verify insurance and pricing in advance, conflicting financial information, and repeated billing corrections. We tried repeatedly to resolve this privately. I explained in writing that fertility treatment requires trust, coordination, and attention to detail, and that we needed our confidence restored before proceeding. Instead, we ultimately decided we could not trust the process enough to continue treatment there. I escalated the concerns to Dr. Vitaly Kushnir, Medical Director. His response was essentially that the clinic followed its written financial policies and that we had signed forms placing responsibility for insurance and outside lab costs on patients. I understand clinics have financial policies. What that did not resolve for us was the more specific issue: we were given concrete pricing in writing immediately before the appointment, services were performed based on that understanding, and substantially different financial obligations were disclosed afterward. That distinction was never meaningfully addressed to our satisfaction. Fertility treatment is already medically, emotionally, and financially demanding. Patients should feel confident that medications are reviewed carefully, procedures are explained thoroughly, insurance is verified appropriately, and expected costs are communicated transparently before services are performed. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we did not have that confidence here.

If you're here because of infertility, first I just want to say I am so sorry you are part of this…read moreclub. It is such a terrible journey to be on. My husband and I were TTC for 4 years and tried a lot of different routes before finally giving IVF a chance. As a background, I have Graves Disease, stage 4 endometriosis, and I'm in my thirties. My husband and I tried IUI before doing IVF with a different fertility doctor, but she wasn't the right fit for us. I contacted Dr. Hatch's office for a new patient appt after that, but couldn't get in for six months. I made the appt anyway, hoping I wouldn't need it and would be pregnant before then. Very long and traumatic story short, during that six-month period we met with another fertility doctor. I miraculously got a few embryos out of the IVF process with him, but that doctor was horrible. (His license was revoked and he is no longer practicing). We took our embryos to Dr. Hatch when we finally got to meet with her and the difference in level of care was staggering. Neither of the former two doctors came anywhere near her attention to detail, willingness to listen, and drive to continuously check every level and adjust the plan accordingly. If you're looking for order, perfect schedules, and a clinical-feeling experience, this office won't be your vibe. But if you want a doctor that truly cares, spends extra time with you to hear you out and explain things, and someone willing to work around the clock to try her hardest to get you pregnant, this is the place for you. I've never experienced this level of care from any other doctor in my life - and I have had many, many doctors. I am now almost 30 weeks along with my first pregnancy! I recognize that every baby is a miracle and not everyone will have this same outcome, but if you want to give it your absolute best shot, I really believe Dr. Hatch is worth every penny. She cares deeply for her patients and is your biggest cheerleader. I cannot wait to use her again for our other embryos. Dr. Elizabeth Dilday is wonderful, and if I were rating her alone, it would be 5 stars without a…read moresecond thought. But this review is about my entire experience with egg freezing here -- and the frustrations have buried the highlights. I genuinely wanted to love this place. I just can't. Start with billing, which has been a nightmare. I need my invoices for medical reimbursement -- that's money I'm owed back -- and despite staff promising to "expedite things," it took 2.5 to 3 months to get them, lack of email responses, calls with no number to call back, extensions that only goes to empty voicemails, after they'd sat marked "pending" for nearly two months. And when I finally reviewed the charges, the refund amounts had been added up wrong. So now I'm double-checking their math too. To fix it, I had to chase a separate department on East Coast time, which became an endless game of phone tag. Their billing is somehow both impossible to reach and disorganized once you do. I came on a referral specifically for Dr. Dilday, and everything was fine -- until the morning of my procedure, when I was casually told she wouldn't be performing it. Instead it'd be whoever was on rotation. How is the day-of an acceptable time to learn that the entire reason I chose this clinic isn't the person operating on me? A heads-up days in advance is not a big ask. Dr. Dilday did visit me, which was genuinely sweet -- but one kind gesture can't paper over how poorly this was communicated. Then the anesthesia, which still upsets me. I told the anesthesia team and every doctor that I come out of anesthesia rough -- clearly and repeatedly. Nobody believed me. The anesthesiologist brushed me off, saying that in all his years he'd never had a problem, and any issues before were because I hadn't had him. Well -- I had an adverse reaction. I woke up in traumatic, screaming pain, a 20 out of 10, exactly what I'd warned about. I wish he'd taken me seriously as he weaned me off the medication after the OR. My recovery was far worse than the two similar procedures I've had before -- genuinely concerning -- and I'm left wondering if it was the technique, the anesthesia, or both. When a patient tells you exactly what will happen to their body and you ignore them, this is what you get. Now the pharmacy. CCRM uses an outside pharmacy, and that was its own disaster. The driver "missed the delivery window," and then management couldn't even locate their own driver for hours. When they finally found him, he had to meet me at a dinner venue -- where I walked out in front of all my friends to grab a giant cooling box for medication I did not want to explain to anyone. I was over an hour and a half late to my event, then had to inconvenience someone to store the meds in their fridge, which meant sharing a deeply personal situation I'd have preferred to keep private. I basically lost a whole day on the phone juggling team members over a pickup that should have been a simple delivery. And all that chaos traced back to one decision: the clinic sent only a single day's loaned dose. So of course I then had to call the on-call doctor after hours to report I didn't have what I needed for day two. I still don't understand why they couldn't just loan two days' worth so nobody has to scramble. It got worse. Right before my trigger injection -- the most time-sensitive, do-not-mess-this-up part of the whole process -- the on-call doctor clearly hadn't read the notes from the physician before him. He instructed me to start a medication I was never given and that was never ordered. I was at work, and he sent me into a full panic attack, because I couldn't drop everything to figure out what I supposedly had, literally the second-to-last day before my trigger. The lack of professionalism, the broken handoffs, the total breakdown in communication between departments, physicians, and billing -- it has genuinely let me down. And it's worse because this could be such a great place. The talent is here, the reputation is real, and I drove two hours each way because of it. I could have stayed local, but I took the referral and did my research -- only to find out how much exhausting, unnecessary work this would be. Roughly four months later, I'm still chasing invoices that don't add up or aren't complete enough to even submit. Fertility patients are already carrying enough emotionally, physically, and financially. It should not be this exhausting. The anxiety, the frustration, the helplessness, and the feeling of not being heard at times really don't make this experience with CCRM. I wish it wasn't so, and I am so sorry for leaving this review, but i really don't wish this upon anyone who is coming hoping for a good result.

He goes above and beyond to listen to patient questions and concerns. I've seen three fertility doctors and he's the only one who I could message directly on the portal. The fertility journey is extremely stressful as anyone who's been through it can tell you, but Dr. Rosencrantz's office made the process so much easier. I never had to wait more than 15 minutes from my appointment time to see him, I got a response to all of my questions within 24-36 hours, and the financial process was easy and straightforward. This was due in large part to his AMAZING team of nurses and staff. Cindy, Anne, and Lorena were always encouraging, warm, and comforting. Everyone knew where I was on my fertility journey, which made the office feel like family. I was able to get pregnant after my first embryo transfer, but unfortunately there were unforeseen abnormalities and we had to terminate at 20 weeks. During this difficult time, even though I was beyond his care (after 8 weeks), Dr. Rosencrantz personally checked on me to make sure I was doing ok. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Rosencrantz for giving me the gift of being able to carry a child even though we were not able to bring our baby home in the end. We have been extremely frustrated with our experience at RMA. We initially chose to pursue IUI…read morefirst. We were referred to Dr. Rosencrantz and subsequently had a telephone appt with a financial coord. We were eager to get started, completed all of the requested testing, and provided records from our outside physicians. During our initial conversation with the financial coord., we explained that our insurance required prior authorization. We had done our research beforehand and knew this would be necessary. Despite communicating this information, the authorization process was not initiated. We did not know this until the first day of my cycle, when we contacted the office to begin our IUI. Because the authorization had not been submitted, we had to wait to begin IUI. The financial coord. had 3-4 weeks to obtain the authorization, and failed to do so until I called on the first day my of cycle. We ultimately completed 3 IUIs. Our experience with Rosencrantz himself was positive. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the office staff and administrative process. There was very little proactive communication throughout the process. Everything was self-directed. If we wanted to proceed with another IUI or discuss moving on to IVF, we had to initiate the contact ourselves. Even after our first IUI, to begin the 2nd, I was told that I could not proceed because either a required test had not been completed or the needed some type of records a certain way. Regardless, the larger issue was the lack of communication and coordination. I was consistently trying to stay ahead of everything the office needed so that there would not be delays when my cycle began, yet there seemed to be something new that prevented us from moving forward each time. In July, our insurance benefits changed and IVF became a covered benefit. We made an appt with Rosencrantz in August and shortly afterward made an appointment with the financial coord. This was a different financial coord. from the one we had previously worked with. I had also previously tried contacting the original financial coord. through the patient portal with questions and often did not receive a response. If my husband called and left a message for the financial coord., he would not get a call back. It got to the point of contacting the nursing staff to get answers. During our appt with Dr. Rosencrantz, we discussed our desire to begin IVF as soon as possible. He instructed us to communicate this to the financial coord. That conversation initially seemed to go well, and again, I specifically explained that our insurance required prior authorization. Because of what had happened with our IUI experience, I was very proactive about monitoring the authorization process myself. Despite this, the IVF prior authorization was not submitted until the end of August. We later discovered that prior authorization was also required for certain medications, and those authorizations were not submitted until September. At one point, I called the office to speak with a financial coord., and the person who answered the phone would not provide her name. I was also told that my insurance did not cover IVF, despite the fact that we had confirmed that IVF was a covered benefit under our new insurance plan. This was incredibly frustrating and concerning. We initially expressed our desire to begin IVF in August. It is now October, and we are still not close to starting. The medication authorization expires in November, and there has also been a lack of follow-through regarding authorization for one of the medications, Omnitrope. My insurance covers it, however the clinic failed to respond within 5 days. Therefore, my insurance canceled the authorization and the medication would cost me to pay 700-900, even though this is covered, because RMA failed to do their job. At this point, we have gone through three different financial coordinators, and we are now more than two months past our initial IVF financial consultation. Despite our efforts to stay on top of the process and repeatedly communicate what was needed, we still have not been able to move forward with IVF. Our biggest issue is not one isolated mistake. It is the repeated pattern of having to chase the office for information, discovering that necessary steps had not been completed, receiving conflicting information, and having treatment delayed as a result. This office is extremely disorganized when it comes to insurance coordination and communication. If you are considering treatment here and your insurance is involved, I strongly recommend doing your own research, confirming your benefits directly with your insurance company, and closely monitoring every authorization yourself. Do not assume that something has been submitted simply because you were told it would be handled. Ultimately, after the repeated delays and frustration, we have decided to leave RMA. The experience has unfortunately made that impossible for us.
