An absolutely outstanding Pakistani restaurant. Everything on our table was completely outstanding. But I am going to talk about one and only one dish. The Tandoori Duck. * * * We don't usually do Tandoori duck in the U.S., Although exceptions undoubtedly exist. Germany has the advantage of having excellent ducks Which we don't And having duck being very plentiful on the market. The contrast is that goat, which is common on American Indian-Pakistani menus, almost never shows up on such menus here. Here, you also get mutton. So Duck and Mutton are the two "dark meats" that substitute for goat in Berlin. * * * In a tandoori, Duck is absolutely positively amazing. Triple that if you are dealing with a superior duck with a nice lining of fat over the breast bone. * * * Add to that the fact that the tandoori I have had in Berlin has generally been superior no matter where I get it. The tandoori of my youth tended to be a dry affair with red color meat pure and simple. It was cooked enough to get hot. Otherwise it was nothing special - and it was dry to boot. This is not the tandoori of my youth. All of the tandoori I have been served here in Berlin has had outstanding sauces. The Berlin tandoori also has had vegetables tossed in with the meat. The veggies are cooked to al dente perfection and are bursting with flavor. Is this because Berlin tandoori is better than American tandoori? Or is this because tandoori cooking has gotten better than the grim dishes I used to eat thirty years ago? I don't have an answer to that question. * * * Either way, Put a perfect duck into a tandoori over. Add the perfect sauce. Add vegetables cut at the right size to al dente. You die and go to heaven. But mostly the thrills are the duck, the duck, the duck and then the duck. My wife's food was good, and the other Yelpers say the food is good. So you can't go wrong ordering whatever you like. I still say: Get the Tandoori Duck. read more

My partner and I visited Sadhu on a weekday (we booked a reservation in advance because they allow this on their website). We were sat in the back of the restaurant which is fine but we were next to a speaker that was too loud :( I ordered butter chicken (my fav) and my boyfriend picked a random menu item so I'm not sure what it was. The chicken was.... Not great :( the butter chicken sauce was really good but I was not at all interested in eating the chicken as it had a weird taste and texture. They have happy hour on all weekdays where cocktails are 5€ which is a good deal. We didn't take advantage of the deal but might not be a bad call. I don't know if we'd go back but maybe I wouldn't get the chicken. read more

I walked into this restaurant by chance on my 3 day visit to Berlin. And thank god I did! The food is delicious!!!! I had the mango lassi, Chana (gram) batura (fried bread), bhindi masala (okra), paneer (cottage cheese) and naan (stuffed bread). The service amazing and everything is so reasonably priced! I was taken care by Mudit Omar, who made my visit memorable. I was starving and he got me salads (w/o asking), and Indian tea after my food. So satisfied. And the staff is very courteous. Thanks Mudit for an awesome visit. Am grateful. Must recommend to anyone in the area, tourist or otherwise. read more

Definitely one of my most memorable meals during my time in Berlin. The staff gave us an extended happy hour which was AWESOME. The Mai Tais, cocktails, and gin drinks were all delicious. The food was good but the portions were fairly small, which was my only complaint, and the only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars. Definitely would recommend for cocktail hour and/or a light dinner. read more

We ordered butter chicken here. Dish was with hair. On the question - why we have a hair in the plate - received answer "oh it is ok! " And then they asked to pay for this dish with hair. Poor service, don't recommend it anybody. Shame on you Sadhu read more

Came here with some friends while visiting Berlin. We were first attracted to it because the food smelled so good as we were walking by that we were convinced that we had to try it. We had 3 different curries from the dinner menu, unfortunately the names have now escaped us, but they were all delicious. I had a chicken in a cream curry with nuts, and it was one of the best curry dishes that I've had. The chicken was succulent and tender, while the sauce was rich and delicious. My friends also all enjoyed their curries very well. Our meals all came in under 10 euro, though we didn't order drinks. The only downside is the waiters forgot to bring us chips. However, they did promptly bring then after we asked, and those were delicious as well. We sat on the patio since the weather was nice, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Definitely would recommend a visit if you're in the area! read more

Oh my God, probably the worst Indian restaurant I've visited or at least one of the bottom three. We ordered two dishes. One was full of sour potatoes(???) which was so strange. I couldn't eat much of it and when we asked for the bill they were even not interested why I hardly touched it. The other one was better but it was also not inspiring in any way. The music was so loud trashy, even not the usual Bollywood. It's a big tourist trap and is overpriced, which simple vegetarian dishes cost almost 10€ and big bottle of still water for 6€. I tried Sadhu based on Qype. Wow!!!! What a fantastic surprise! The food is absolutely incredible. So, now forget everything I have said about the others, this is the one! I love Thali plates, so I ordered one of the three on their menu. It came with so much food that I didn't eat most of the salad nor the rice and bread that came with it. It started with a bowl of nice soup and then came the big plate separated into three sections filled with yummy things. There was a chicken vindaloo, lamb curry and a paneer jalfrezi. I don't know what they do differently with their vindaloo but it was absolutely incredible. I ordered a lamb saagwala to take away for dinner tonight. I know it will be just as heavenly as the dishes as lunch. The service was super friendly. The staff were smiling and there was a good rapport amongst themselves as well. The food was really good. The atmosphere very cozy. The waiters very friendly and we got so much delicious things on the house. This was my third day in Berlin and I don't speak any German yet so it was nice that they spoke English as well. It's not just that the food is delicious and spicy but also it is presented in very nice way in different containers and cutlery. Came here to sample the lunch menu after I've tried a few mediocre Indian restaurants and I will start by saying I'm super satisfied! Sat outside with a friend who came for a visit and enjoyed the nice weather, the waiter was really nice - we got this wonderful soup for starters and the usual Papadum and salsa, I just love these. It took me a while to decide since there was a lot of options and they all seemed so tasty! I got chicken vindaloo and my friend got lamm jahlfrezi - both very hearty dishes, the curry itself was well made, creamy and tasted just perfect in my opinion. I'm mostly used to get smaller dishes for the lunch menus, this one was so big I still have some for tomorrow to eat! Yummy yummy! The rice was good and we got some sort of deep fried dough which was very good but I didn't ask for the name of it. Ended up with 21 euros for two portion and two drinks! Totally worth it. read more

Spent an hour looking at Indian places on Yelp before settling on this place--and I am glad I did. Hubby and I wanted a break from all the pork and steak on offer in Berlin, so we went searching for a decent Indian place. The reviews on Yelp seemed to be mixed for every place (even the 5 stars) so just gave in and headed to this one (it was the closest one with the most positive reviews) and it didn't disappoint. We had a jalfrezie, korma, and tikka between us and the portions were generous and delicious. Staff was very accommodating and service was fast. Would definitely go again. read more

I went by myself and I can say I have never felt more welcome in a restaurant before :) and the food was amazing! I ordered a mix plate with duck curry, chicken tikka and paneer with cauliflower. I'm not going to say it's amazing but this is by far the best Indian food that we have had in Berlin. We have tried SOOOO many different places with the highest of ratings and they have all been a complete disappointment. This is our go-to now. If you like to eat with breads, the naan isn't so great but the bhatura is. The restaurant is comfortable and the staff are nice. Take-out service has been equally great. My absolutely favorite place for cocktails. I cannot rate their food but it looks and smells always delicious. The waiters are always very nice and attentive. We go there for their happy hour, which starts at 6 p.m. We have taken every visitor who comes to visit us in Berlin--and everyone loves it there. The ambience is great too and in the summer you can sit hours outside and enjoy the view of people walking sitting on the sidewalk in a beauitful and comfortable lighting. We do not live in Kreuzberg but our night out usually starts or ends with this place. Highly recommended. read more

Sadhu is a new restaurant and what a lovely find! The food is great. Good value too. Inside is simply but tastfully decorated. The whole package worked for me! Considering they haven't been going that long, word has got around and they are often full. The staff are very friendly and pleasant, and though we had to wait a bit for our order to be taken, the food arrived quickly. Another bonus is they serve great beer, plus they have an extensive drinks choice (not something I'm used to) Possibly the biggest compliment..I'll be going back there! read more

I got a chicken jalfrezi take away on Thursday evening and it gave me food poisoning. The curry was tasty but every now and then I got a taste of seafood which was a bit odd. Cut to the next day and I'm running to the bathroom every 15 minutes. It hung around all day and into the night.. which is when the vomits started. So yeah, staying away from this place now. while it comes at a price, Sadhu is the first indian restaurant in berlin that i have any desire to return to. the staff was friendly and the food was very, very good. as usual, if you want any spice at all you must really beg for it. main dishes are aroun 7-9 euro, above average but so is the food. i will come back for sure. read more

Es ist eigentlich das schlechteste indische/pakistanische Restaurant, das ich in Berlin besucht habe. Ich bin Inder. Ich habe diese Woche Chicken Curry bestellt und ich war da mit einem Freund von mir. Das Essen war sehr schlecht und ich kann Chicken Curry besser machen als was den Koch in dem Restaurant gekocht hat. Das sagt alles weil ich keinen guten Koch bin. Zudem, hat den Freund von mir Leitungswasser zweimal bestellt und der Kellner hat ein Glas Leitungswasser mitgebracht und ein Glas Wasser mit Citrone. Der Freund hat nichts zu trinken ausser Leitungswasser bestellt. Das Essen , dass der Freund bestellt hat war auch schlecht. Endlich kam der Rechnung 25 Minuten nach wir nach der Rechung gefragt haben und auf der Recht stand einmal Mineral Wasser obwohl der Freund von mir kein Mineral Wasser bestellt hat. Er hat versucht mit dem Kellner zu reden und der Kellner hat einfach gesagt, dass der Freund Mineral Wasser bestellt hat. Ich habe auch gesagt, dass er nur Leitungswasser bestellt hat aber es hatte keine Auswirkung. Der Freund von mir hat dem Kellner gesagt, dass für 1.6 Euro , kommen wir niemals und der Kellner hat einfach gesagt ok In meinem ganzem Leben war ich niemals in einem Restaurant wo das Essen und auch das Service sehr schlecht war. Als Inder sage ich, dass es gibt nur einige Restaurants in Berlin wo das Essen wie echtes indisches Essen schmeckt. Ein heisst Agni und das andere heisst Namaskar obwohl im Namaskar, check Mal eure Rechnung weil es gibt Fälle wo der Kellner falsch auf der Rechnung addiert. read more
