Doctor Choi told me the tooth might last 5 years but not 10 years. A report (which I have a copy of) was sent to my dentist saying prognosis was good but guarded. I had the root canal, my gums were still in pain that never went away until the tooth was pulled six months later. My dentist filled the tooth and installed a new bridge. Total cost was over $8k. Six months later still in pain, S.E. referred me to an oral surgeon who said the tooth would not last six months. Six weeks later it abscessed and the new bridge had to be destroyed to remove the tootn. I now have no bridge (need an implant for it) and an empty space in my mouth and I am out the $2k for the root canal plus the cost of the bridge. Total cost was over $8k for root canal and bridge. I now have to spend more than that to get bone graphs, implant, and a new bridge. I will never go there again.

I have been diligent in dental cleanings and in the daily care of my teeth to avoid the immense anxiety in the event I'd ever need a longer procedure such as a root canal. After my tooth cracked in half, my dentist referred me to another endodontist who can first see me in a month and a half. They then referred me to Dr. Mirman who they only knew because one of their previous employees now works there. I was able to schedule an appointment within just days of the incident. After calling multiple times with any and every question that I could think of so I can completely wrap my head around the procedure, their receptionists were always very friendly, educated, and reassuring. On the day of the appointment the staff went above and beyond to make me feel at ease and comfortable. When Dr. Mirman walked in the room he immediately put me at ease, understanding my needs, and communicated every step of the process and timing. Both he and his assistant worked in lockstep both in ensuring my comfort and in their execution. They care about the patient and their needs and are the epitome of professionalism. When I left the office I was in disbelief that I had spent years worrying about my ability to tolerate such a procedure. I waited to post as I wanted to see my dentist's opinion, given that he's a perfectionist. One month later upon prepping a crown, my dentist heard about my experience, looked at the quality of his work in detail, and promptly said that he's going to be referring Dr. Mirman a lot more of his patients. Dr Leff is an amazing Doctor, with class, grace, and he treats all patients in the manner he would treat his own family. I appreciate the excellent medical skills of Dr. Leff, I never have any complications, prolonged pain, my issues are always resolved in a pleasantly perfect manner. I have horrible anxiety with going to see a Dentist. Dr. Leff, and his staff are very calming, reassuring, and highly professional. When Dr. Leff gives me a needle before he does my root canal, I feel no pain. Most of the time, I don't even know he has done my root canals, that is how awesome Dr. Leff is. I appreciate when Dr. Leff works on my kid's teeth, he sits down with them in the waiting area, and have the most fascinating conversations with them about school, academics, and I find him to be absolutely amazing. When anyone asks me , who does great root canals, I tell them to go see Dr. Leff! They do not make Doctors like Dr. Leff anymore. The endodontist here is downright rude and has absolutely no bedside manner. I came in for an…read moreevaluation for a root canal and was visibly nervous -- shaking, anxious, and walking with a cane. I clearly expressed my anxiety and asked about sedation or gas because I believed a root canal was oral surgery. Her response was dismissive: she said it's "only given to patients with anxiety," while I was near tears and nauseous from anxiety. When I stated I was feeling anxiety and would pay for the sedation, she said they weren't equipped and didn't have it. During the numbing process, she was hurting me and repeatedly misrepresented what I was saying. I was trying to explain that the area was not numb enough to proceed because I could still feel sensation when my tongue touched the area -- not that my tongue itself wasn't numb. Instead of listening, she snapped at me and said, "You're so sensitive!" Yes -- I was anxious, in pain, and scared. That's the point. She also repeatedly made me stand to rinse and spit, which might be fine for most patients, but I was walking with a cane. Bending over a small sink was difficult and slow, yet she showed zero patience. At one point, while I was rinsing, she looked at me with visible disgust and said in a malicious, condescending tone, "You can use the napkins, you know -- they're right there." I was humiliated. She lectured me for being "uninformed," and when I tried to explain my misunderstanding, she became even more hostile. She kept starting and stopping the procedure, repeatedly asking in a threatening tone, "Do you want me to do this or not?" By then, my anxiety had been completely escalated by her, and I no longer trusted her to work on me. I left with a partially numb mouth. I immediately found another endodontist who was kind, professional, and was also a lot more thorough. I also contacted the dentist who referred me to her. I made it clear that she threw him under the bus regarding the filling that caused the nerve inflammation, and that her behavior was rude, unkind, and condescending. I also told her directly that part of her job is to guide and calm patients -- not belittle, intimidate, and escalate fear. This woman should not be working with patients. She is cold, abrasive, and completely lacking compassion. I genuinely don't know how the other two lovely women in the office tolerate her miserable demeanor. Avoid at all costs.
