Now there are really no words to describe the experience my husband and I had here! Let me start with the cons! Cons: Started off a little rocky at the beginning! We weren't sure it was gonna be any good when they brought out chicken strips covered in sesame seeds and bbq sauce which seemed to be from McDonald's. It also was a little weird on the what was an appetizer and what was an entrée! Then on top of that we ordered mozzarella balls and I asked for a side of tomato sauce and the waiter brought me ketchup so that was kind of confusing! Now let me tell you the pros! Pros: Great great great! So the sesame seed chicken strips actually tasted amazing! And although they brought me ketchup to go with the mozzarella balls turns out they didn't even need tomato sauce! They were amazing all on their own!! I ordered the Pumpkin ravioli and honestly with was the best and freshest ravioli I have ever had in my entire life! Just amazing! Definitely recommend! If you are here in Rome try this place out! It's not a touristy spot only locals come here so it's definitely worth a try and it's on the cheap side too for the quality you get!! Just amazing! Then I had the tiramisu for dessert and it was literally the best I have ever had! I thought the one I had yesterday was amazing but turns out this one blew it out the water! 1 out of 10 I give it a 20!!! Unfortunately our restaurant of choice was closed so we decided to come to Sacco which was just around the corner and up the hill from our hotel. I had read the Yelp reviews before heading out. We got there quite early and had the place to ourselves but later on, the restaurant got filled. Perfect timing. Just as the reviews stated, the menu is on a rolling board as well as printed out. The English version is on the website. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs in sauce (I had a craving for authentic Italian pasta, what can I say) and my friend ordered pizza with pears and walnuts. Both dishes were good. Service was quick. I would definitely come back and try one of the pizzas. read more

Lovely, Lovely, Lovely ...the people, the ambiance and the food! We chose Stacco for dinner our first night in Rime because it was very near our hotel, had great reviews and was recommended by the our hotel's front desk clerk and we were so very pleased with our experience all the way around. I had the Eggplant Parmigiana and my daughter had the Ravioli with Mint & Butter. Our dishes were the best we've had so far from our week touring all over Italy. Our desserts were equally scrumptious, Tiramisu & Pistachio Semi Freddo. This is where the locals eat out! The service is impeccable, warm and friendly. We were staying at the Holiday Inn Express San Giovanni and checked out Ristorante Sacco for dinner since it was nearby. Our dinner there turned into one of our favorite meals in Rome! Our server was Gianlucca, and he was very helpful with us and spoke English wonderfully. While I had taken an Italian course prior to my trip, I unfortunately was not well versed with food words. He took the time to explain all of the items on the menu since the menu was written only in Italian. Speaking of the menu, we did not receive a hard-copy menu to read at our table. The Sacco staff shares a large chalkboard on wheels and wheels it around to each table. Very unique and fun! We ate: - Crostini with marinated tomatoes and white fish: I would never think of combining these together, but our appetizer was fantastic! - Tuna steak: The best ahi tuna I've ever had. Perfectly seared and perfectly fresh. Sacco's chefs know how to sear ahi tuna. Sacco served it with pistachio crumbles and honey on top. What sounds like a bizarre combination was incredibly delicious. - Steak: My husband enjoyed the beef dish. He cleaned his plate! I didn't try a bite. - Creme brulee and tiramisu: Both fantastic with a perfect burn on top of the creme brulee. A great ending to an already lovely meal. The staff sang happy birthday to another guest at the restaurant, and the restaurant lights actually lowered during their song. I have never seen something like this before and thought it was really interesting. The atmosphere and decor at Sacco is sort of a vintage/modern/elegant feel. I really enjoyed it. We had a wonderful evening at Sacco. I regret only eating at Sacco once during our trip to Italy! read more

If I could give this place 6 stars I TOTALLY would! My husband and I came here 3 times total in our two days stay in Rome. It was right near our hotel and the food was phenomenal. The pizza is to die for and it is SO CHEAP. And such fresh and tasty ingredients. We got the margarita pizza with the buffalo milk mozzarella for lunch and came back and did the same thing for dinner. It was out of this world! The pizza is so thin-crust and the ingredients taste so fresh and you can tell it's authentic Italian food. We haven't had better food anywhere else. Also, we ordered chicken Cesar salad (basic), but the chicken was so good that my husband (at home we never eat chicken) said if chicken was like this at home-we'd eat it everyday!!!! We also got the prosciutto with buffalo milk mozzarella as an appetizer and it was out of this world! Food aside (you probably get the point, but we just cannot say enough about how good the food is), the service is excellent. The manager Maria is a sweetheart and a beautiful woman! Our waiter, Ms. Aurora was excellent! She spoke perfect English and entertained all of my questions. Staff was super accommodating to special requests we had for the food and overall the atmosphere was nice and cozy. You cannot beat the price and quality of food here. Ambience was incredible ! The smells and the food were excellent. I highly recommend this establishment of you are in the are and in need of a good pizza! Five Stars! However, They refused to serve us a bottle of wine with out a food order. But some locals came in bought a couple of beers and sat across the street!! Went out for a nice dinner. The place is cute and had nice ambiance. Well, got drinks and a veggie starter and ordered pizza. 7 (seven) other tables of people came in after the 2 of us and they were all served food, some finishing several courses. Not believing pizza takes 30 minutes to cook, asked waitress for our bill. My kid was hungry and rome had lots of other restaurants. She said it's pizza and takes a long time. My daughter was hungry and begged me to wait and finally finally our pizza came. At that point I'm pretty cross so can't eat. Waitress asked if I didn't like it and I said I was ok, please bring the bill. Another waiter came and said we weren't served because we hadn't finished the starter (it was not that great so didnt eat it -no big deal just didn't care for it or want to fill up). Waitress tried to fix things by providing a dessert but sadly it was too late. Paid my bill and couldnt get out fast enough. Take away? Don't order pizza but if you do, one is enough for two people, and be prepared to wait. read more
