Authentic Chinese restaurant in Madrid. The location is so close to Gran Via…read more My table had mixed thoughts of this place. Some dishes were good, others weren't quite as good. I guess it's hit or miss. Sangria was good. We got the pitcher for the table. Cold dishes- Cucumber | pepino €7.50 - The flavor was ok, but the cucumbers were too soggy for my preference. This was the worst dish of the night for us :( I really was hoping for something refreshing to kick the spiciness of everything else. Banban chicken | pollo €8,90 - This dish was ok to me. The flavor was mid, very oily. The knife technique here was impressive. Duck | pato yuxiang €13,90 - This dish was very good, very fragrant. The duck was crisped and cut so well. Fish | olla pez €29,50 - The fish was good. It came with lotus root, bean sprouts, a few cauliflower, and a shit ton of potato slices. The cucumber slices in there were so soggy, which I did not like. Wontons in chili oil | wantan picante €9,90 - The wontons were not good!! The chili oil sauce was ok, but the wontons were such a disappointment. The skin was too slimy, and there was no flavor inside the wonton. Beef noodle soup | sopa ternera €12,90 - We asked for very spicy and we got it. As soon as I inhaled, I choked. The noodles were very soft. The beef was meh. They added some pickled veggies Rice was €2,20 per person. Credit card accepted.

The menu is simpler now (4 pages) with limited starters, drinks, katsu dishes, ramen bowls, and desserts. However, this is not to say the food is any less delicious. For our dishes we enjoyed fried gyozas, likely salted edamame, two bowls or ramen (chicken and beef), katsu chicken, and katsu curry chicken; also, not to mention, a tinto de verano that was wonderfully heavy on the tinto and light on the verano if you know what I'm talking about. The ramen bowls are good but the broth is a little watery for my taste. However, the katsu dishes are spectacular. The rice on each dish is sticky and the seasoning on the katsu chicken is savory. The katsu curry is perfectly balanced. The staff is incredibly friendly and our waiter took great care of us, and he even offered helpful tips and preferences on a few dishes. Overall, this is still a good restaurant with great dishes.

We saw this place as we came out of the Mercado de San Miguel & decided to go back the next day. Tapas de Sichus a tiny little restaurant by the Mercado de San Miguel. Cool little vibe by the plaza w/an indoor seating area as well as seating outside in the plaza. We ordered 3 dishes * Hot & Sour Soup was pretty good * Mapu Tofu was good but a tad too salty * Szechuan Green Beans

One step into the restaurant and a few yellow flags - no Asian customers and the staff didn't speak Mandarin. The decor is pretty interesting with the walls plastered with street views of Hong Kong. No issues with service - we spoke to the servers in English. The food: Arroz con ternera, gambas y huevo a baja temperatura - Egg with beef and shrimp over rice - I imagine this is HK comfort food, but it really hit the spot. It's like a beef omelette on top of rice with gravy. Menu de gallina a baja temperatura con jengibre - Slow Cooked Chicken with Ginger - gently poached chicken with ginger scallion sauce. I thought this was super tender and tasty. My mother in law thought they didn't use the right kind of chicken which has firmer meat. Verduras chinas salteadas con tofu fermentado - Ong Choy with Fermented Tofu - stir fried vegetables, but fermented tofu is very pronounced in the dish. I still liked it, but about half my family didn't like this unique addition. Empanadillas de pato con foie flambeado - duck dumplings with foie gras - interesting idea but maybe goes a step too far. The end result is heavily sauced and the filling is loosely held together (instead of a meat patty). Pata laquedo estilo Beijing - Peking duck - most of the elements were pretty good like the meat, hoisin, green onions, and cucumber. What does this dish in is the skin is not crispy and the wrappers are on the dry side. Milk tea - this was super watered down, maybe because they cooled it down with ice - not recommended
