I researched salons and while there are no shortage, this one is the best. Buoy recently won 5 out of 10 National salon awards, including best stylist and best salon. I signed up online to make a booking and thought their website was easy to navigate and well thought out. (Turns out, they won an award for that too.) Prices were clearly listed for every service and vary based on the level of experience of the professional carrying out the service. Bev styled my hair for the wedding, trimmed my fringe and did a fantastic job. She came highly recommended and is a consummate professional. Everyone from the receptionist to Bev's assistant was lovely. If you are in windy Wellington and need a blow wave, a hair cut or style, this salon is as good as any salon in Los Angeles or NYC. P.S. I thought my idea to get a blow out might be silly because it is indeed so windy here, but it was a brilliant idea. My hair may have been tossed around during the ceremony but once i did a quick touch up, it all fell back into place perfectly, thanks to a professional blow out.

This place did not have any reviews but I called anyway. A very nice guy answered to all my questions and helped me find my way in. It was a bit hard to find but again I was completely new to town. The place was nicely designed and very clean. My hairdresser was very professional and did great job with my hair. If I had more time I would have tried more services. Not sure if I will ever be in Wellington again, but wanted to leave this review to spread the word around.
