We walked past Saber Ao Borralho while starting our hike from our lodging in town and are thrilled we returned in the evening. The exterior and interior of the building are delightful, especially at night. The food was delicious, the host very pleasant and patient with us as our Portuguese language skills are terrible. The host started our meal with olives, a seafood pate and bread. I deferred to the host when ordering a bottle of red wine and the selection from the Douro region was perfect with our meal. We were fortunate to be served the Cachena Assada for our evening meal as the dish is usually served during lunch. The meal is prepared for two people and comes with a side of vegetables consisting of cabbage and carrots. There were five adults so ordered two Cachena Assada and the salad as well. The amount of food was perfect. We finished our meal with the fig cheese cake and chocolate mousse. read more
