This, in spite of her busy schedule that week! The quality of food for us indian americans was simply fantastic! Many wedding guests complimented us and were gaga over the snacks, especially the mini samosas. Highly recommend her for any catering needs for your special occassion/celebration in NZ. There is quite a lot of Thai food around in Auckland these days and not all of it up to scratch but Jungle Flavour is one of the best. We went for New Years Eve dinner and managed to get a last minute table for seven. That's not to say they were quiet - every table was full - so I think we just got lucky. The menu is the usual stuff but done to perfection. I'm a semi-vegetarian (oh ok fussy eater) so can often be disappointed but the Tofu Satay made me a tofu convert and my Red Curry had so much flavour I had to doggy-bag the tiny bit that was left. The service is fast and friendly and they were relaxed and patient with our three hyped-up for New Years kids. Ah, sure give 'em another round of cokes - it's a celebration. A lot of care has been taken with all aspects of this place (love the brilliantly tacky Tropical jungle theme) and the pricing is excellent. There has been a trend lately for neighbourhood restaurants removing the BYO option but happily, not here. There is of course a comprehensive drinks list including wine if you don't feel like taking your own. I can't recommend this place enough and while Balmoral already has great Thai eating, Jungle Flavour is my new absolute favourite.

Yet inside, my nerves were quickly dissipated. The decor really is jungle-like and filled with plenty of wild character. My friends really enjoyed themselves, and it made me wonder what all those bad reviewers were going on about. Will definitely go again.

I've never been to an inner city Thai restaurant - but some vouchers made this experience possible. We had a three course meal and cannot complain about the quality or quantity I the meals! The taste was very authentic and after ordering coconut milk based curries we weren't feeling bloated or weighed down. We ordered a Prawn Salad, fish cakes, satay chicken skewers for appetisers. Main course was chicken pad thai, red chicken curry, red duck curry, chicken stir fry and another chicken curry. Well seasoned and the presentation on foo was worth the experience - pictures speak for themselves! Recommended if you can afford the $20+ price range for curries!

I'm pretty sure most times I go here I see someone I know who also must have had the same idea as me - a delicious curry to appease the taste buds with an accompaniment of a large amount of naan bread and rice (my mouth is in fact watering just thinking about this). Not only do they do takeaway, but if you are feeling too lazy to leave the house then they also provide free delivery services as well (I think you have to spend over a certain amount though, so I guess its free* delivery services). My favourite dish would have to be the pumpkin masala - the sauce is so delicious and because the helpings are so big, you could definitely save half of it for lunch the next day.

Aroy is a Thai eatery that opened recently in Ponsonby. Located on Ponsonby Road, it is sure to be a hit - especially with such delicious, well priced food on the menu!
