My plan was to go to a few mattress stores to test out what kind I like and then buy it or something of a similar style online, since I know little to nothing about mattresses. As luck would have it, I decided to try and find a local store before heading to Mattress 1 or Mattress Firm, and Google pointed me here. I didn't know exactly what a mattress liquidation store is, but essentially it's like closeout or overstock sold from the main suppliers (in this case JC Penney) and as such you find all the brand names at none of the brand name prices. My fiance and I had a ton of questions and tried out pretty much every queen size they had (they do have a rather small selection, maybe 6-8 each of queen and king). Omar was super helpful and took the time to answer all of our questions and not only did they offer same day delivery for a very reasonable price, but they added on mattress take away for a really reasonable fee despite that not being something they normally do. They usually sell their mattresses to other mattress stores, but this showroom is also open to the public, which turned out to be a stroke of luck. The verdict remains to be seen on the mattress itself but the buying experience was definitely A+.

The furniture is built well enough to withstand many, many, years of service, and the ability to update layouts or fabrics is something that makes it last even longer. Yes, it is expensive, but you can mitigate that to a great degree by waiting for sales or just waiting period after you get a quote and let it sit in your cart for a while. The shipping is FAST too! Now, some downsides. And these are not really downsides but more tips for success. When your furniture first arrives it is not going to be a lot of fun unpacking and getting everything ready to be assembled. To me, rearranging the furniture into a different layout, or just taking it apart and moving it is a complete breeze as opposed to getting everything out of the boxes and ready. Sometimes pieces don't seem to want to go together like they should. Though technically there shouldn't be a correct order to assemble a layout, you might want to just try connecting the pieces in a different order, and sometimes that just makes everything fall together. Finally, I have seen some competition in the space. Given Lovesac's longevity over time, quality of construction, etc, I would never consider another brand. Oh, and back to the service is why you go to the store point. I guess you can get anything you want on the website. However, unless you are a Lovesac superstar, getting help from a knowledgeable person is better. For example, in expanding a layout I had originally purchased, it was easy to create the target layout I wanted on the website, but not so easy to understand the pieces I was missing to get to it. AND, on top of that, the target layout had some pillows in place that the IRL person suggested would not be a great idea. The end result? I'm glad I went to the store.

They will try to throw in all the bells and whistles so that you make the purchase but the conditions and limitations fall short of anyones expectations. 1st They don't do returns, ONLY exchanges. It says that they NEVER resell used bedding BUT in order to be eligible for an exchange through their warranty you have to have a mattress protector on your bed otherwise they won't take it. It clearly states that stained or torn bedding will void the warranty. Their terms and agreements state that "the purchase of a mattress protector is required for any mattress to be eligible for exchange...." The mattress protector is an additional $60.....Why would a mattress protector be required if they don't resell used bedding... Kind of odd but another way that they line their pockets selling a mattress protector at 200% more than they cost. Not only that but if you do decide that you do want to exchange... You receive a credit for the original mattress price that you paid. The exchange also has to be equal or greater value. You can't exchange for a bed that's less than what you paid for, so if they're having a sale and it's less you're out of luck until after the sale. Not only do you have to pay the difference but they also expect you to pay delivery and removal... They view these as two separate things. Delivery is $99 and removal is another $25 per piece! You're looking at an additional $124 for an exchange of 1 bed. And who knows if you will like the next one. I really feel like This place is a complete scam, and the policy is created to continue to ring money out of the buyer. There are soooo many better options... Don't even walk in, It's just not worth it.
