The staff is always friendly and professional. There's also a lab right there in the office if you need blood work, etc., That is very convenient so you don't have to go and make another appointment or wait in a line of people waiting to have their blood drawn. The lab offers other diagnostic services which many are posted within 24 hours, if you have MyChart, which I highly recommend. Hope this helps anyone who maybe looking for, or on the fence about seeing a new doctor.

During the pandemic, my wife and I were prevented from seeing our regular internist. As an interim…read moremeasure, we asked for referrals to a local internist and were given Dr, Whyte's name. The appointment started out poor and got worse. This doctor told my wife that she was too old and didn't need to be on certain medications that were prescribed by the Chair of Psychiatry at Emory University in 2004. His next act was to arbitrarily cut her dosage in half without discussion or permission. When I called back, the assistant stated the doctor had made a mistake and would contact our pharmacy for a correction. However, that correction never took place, and so, this doctor told us an untruth. Less than a month later, my wife was running low on an important medication. I attempted to call in the prescription, however, this doctor stated he would not prescribe any more. At this point, I called the doctor requesting answers. This doctor would not talk to me, but rather, only through his assistant. I became irritated and frustrated at the lack of direct communication. I did, however, promise this doctor serious legal ramifications if my wife suffered seizures because he refused to refill her prescription that she has been taking for 17 years. I asked for his supervisor's name and the supervisor above him, but was denied each time. This doctor has put my wife's health at serious risk by trying to titrate her off a medication that requires months of constant monitoring instead of the days that he attempted. I will NEVER go to this doctor again and would recommend that others very carefully research this doctor. The main tenet of the Physician's oath is to "do no harm". This doctor failed in that oath.

Will never return!…read more My appointment was today at 11:45 am, I arrived at 11:35 because I respect my doctors time. I arrived to a waiting room full of people, that was concerning to begin with. I was not called into a patient room until 12:45, that's one hour after my appointment time. By 1:15 I got up and left. I notified the nurse first. The nurse tried to tell me that each patient that was seen today had issues that resulted in the super crazy delay. Which is funny because the receptionist told me a totally different story, her story was that they had an emergency in the morning which resulted in the delays. So I told the nurse that the receptionist had a different story. She said yes there was an emergency this morning which did result in delays. I asked "Shouldn't that have warranted a call to me to let me know that you were running more than an hour late per patient and then given me the option to reschedule or take my original appointment?" Of course I got the run around, each patient is different and their treatment is different. Ok, you obviously have a scheduling issue considering the other reviewer stated he waited over 90 minutes. As a patient it's important that the doctor and their staff respect my time. My time is worth just as much as theirs is. I always respect my doctors time by showing up early and never cancelling within 24 hours. After leaving and heading home so I could eat lunch before returning to my busy job I got a call from the nurse. No joke it was now 1:45, two hours after my original appointment, the nurse stated that if I came back right now the doctor would be available to see me. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? TWO HOURS AFTER MY APPOINTMENT TIME. I flat out told the nurse that I would not give my money to a doctor that doesn't respect the time of her patients. I am happy to take my business else where. In the future I will be sure to read reviews before I book. This was a huge waste of my day! Do yourself a favor and don't schedule with this office unless you have at least two hours to waste.

Let me start off by saying Dr. Steven Cohen seems to be a nice, down-to-earth, laid back doctor…read more He doesn't seemed rushed - and I'm sure most patients love that. But his office staff can be disorganized, making it difficult to schedule an actual appointment. Today I fasted all day - both food and liquids only to be told that I was scheduled for a problem visit - not a physical. Also - the young lady that booked my appointment told me I would be seeing "Richard Cohen" (not Steven) and that's who I'd seen previously. I almost declined the appointment. Turns out she was mistaken. When I mentioned this to the doctor, he kind of just brushed it off. The only reason I even mentioned it is so that he doesn't lose potential or existing patients because some nut manning the phones doesn't know the names of all the doctors in the group. But I digress. I had a 3:15pm appointment and was not finished until 5:11pm. Here's what didn't happen: 1. I did not get the scheduled physical / wellness visit (insurance company provides one free one per year) 2. I did not get labs done (although he offered) - after nearly 2 hours - I had to leave - I had work to do, I was tired, thirsty and thoroughly irritated with the doctor 3. I did not get Rx for medications that I'd taken previously - and I'm referring to regular run-of-the mill Rx's - not narcotics or other potentially addictive meds. 4. I got my ears tortured. I did have a somewhat stuffy right ear - so his nurse (friendly, funny Lakeisha) - spent about 20 minutes trying, unsuccessfully, to irrigate both ears. When she couldn't get the blockage taken care of, she called Dr. Cohen back in - and he was very rough when he examined them - like he was pissed that he had to come back in. I have to admit - my feelings were a little hurt. Or maybe I was just hungry. Lol. But thanks to that nonsense - my ears are ringing and sensitive to wind right now. Maybe my expectations of a primary care physician are too high. I'm looking for a one-stop-shop kinda guy. I don't want to have to pay $75 and go see another Wellstar doctor for medicine for skin psoriasis or acne cream - I want my PCP to write it if I'm in his office. Is it possible to OD or abuse this kind of stuff? What's the deal? Anyway - so thanks, Dr. Cohen - aka Cobb Medical Group - WellStar Health System. a. I still need a physical b. I still need labwork. c. I spent $35 to have my ears tortured and to be given a case of tinnitus d. I did get one Rx and advice on how to wean myself off a maintenance med e I did get an offer of a referral to an ENT (which I declined) Let me end this on a positive note; Once again - Dr. Cohen will take extraordinary time in the exam room with you. The front desk staff is very pleasant "in person" - Nurse or assistant was friendly They are using the "My Chart" system that allows you to see your lab results, schedule appointments, even send messages to the Doctor. (This is great - can't believe all doctors aren't doing this.) Suffice it to say - I really wanted to love this practice - its close, convenient, I liked Dr. Cohen's bedside manner (at first) . . . but after the clusterf*ck of my first two visits* - and now this one - I will definitely be looking for a new primary care physician. *They screwed up my labs the last time - and I had to call and beg for results . . . not going through that again - I'm an idiot for even going back today.
