Pao took me right away, I showed him what I wanted & he killed it. He takes his time and really does a kickass job. For Joe. I go to Joe for highlights. He doesn't pull my hair. The formula isn't slathered on my scalp and my wet hair isn't sloshed all over my face (like Passion Salon nearby). Joe is careful to not burn my scalp or tug my hair. He is careful on haircuts. I try to bundle services so it's cheaper (highlights, haircut, blowout) and always walk out looking amazing. read more

Don't come here if you are looking an edgy cut. Desperate after vacation, I came to have my bangs trimmed and undercut retouched on a Sunday when most places were closed. She accommodated a walk in. Based off decent reviews, I asked for Sara. She went straight for the cut, no texturizing, and my undercut was uneven. When I went to my regular stylist he asked if I cut my own bangs! Also, what bothered me was the stylist asked me why I want to wear my hairstyle. If you don't get it, you don't and that is why she shouldn't cut my hair. 1 star off for not good hair cut and 1 star for asking me why. 3 stars stay though for cheap price ($7) and same day walk in! read more

My 11 year old daughter went in with a picture of what she wanted. They butchered her hair! Nothing like the pic she showed them! Very rude and crappy hair cut! My daughter is not Asian, she went in and the hair stylist barely looked at the pic and wouldn't even smile. Another Asian customer went in and all of the sudden she was all smiles and welcoming. My boyfriend has been looking for a haircut place that would give him the undercut and long top haircut he wanted for the longest time with no success until we came across this place. Very unsure we came in and the first impression was good. The salon was clean and it smelled nice. It was empty so he got his haircut right away, she listened to what we said and we showed her a picture and she quickly did it. The reason why I give 4 stars is because I thought the interaction with the lady was a bit rude IMO but who knows could just be me being sensitive. I tried asking if she could do the fading on the side and she snapped back at me saying " YEES" but like I said could just be me. Point is the haircut looked great, it was fast and it was cheap (only 13 dollars plus another 13 for the wax to mold his hair after he takes a shower) Im sure we will be coming back. read more

Came here last min. I was past due for a trim and let me tell you I have went to many salons paid big money and have been very disappoint with the cuts and color. Any ways this place only trimmed my hair, the guy that trimmed my hair was very gentle and he charged me a very fair price for a shampoo and trip plus blow drying with style only$27.00. He took his time but it was pretty quick I love this place I'm making it my usual place for a trim. Give it a try I'll post a pic for all to see. Save your money and go elsewhere!!! Let me start by saying how awful my experience at this hair salon is just to get my roots touched up. I called several places and got quoted $60-70 dollars at HIGH END salons. Being that I came here before they were in expensive and not busy I made an apt with Jasmin. Here comes the RUDENESS! Jasmin decides to say out loud that my hair is dry because I got an ombré from another salon. Then the yapping in their language starts they start looking at my hair. Asking me if I want hot oil treatment for $40. I told her No. I even told her when she was washing my hair that I think it's rude to talk about my hair out loud in front of other clients. I don't think she heard me or even understood what I was saying because she dropped the hot oil to $35. And the guy that works there he should not even try to make any comments. Because if you did not notice you have a bold spot MR! Last time I was there she charged me $50 for a hair cut and a root touch up. They raised the price to $70. Really! I asked you if you can use a round brush because I have thin hair you end up using less than an inch round brush and you blow dry my hair straight. Now my hair looks flat leaving the salon. It's funny because when Jasmin was on vacation Sarah the salon owner told me that they talk loud and she tries to talk in English in front of customers. Because she knows it's rude talking in their native language. I think you should set an example Sarah and start by talking in English! For a salon service to talk so much shit, their work and treatment amounts to a super cut salon. read more

I don't understand why everyone says this place is so good. I asked for Sara because of all the good reviews. She asked if I needed to wash my hair, I told her that I washed it this morning, so she said okay sit down. No product was applied to protect from heat styling. My hair is really long and she was so rough with it! My scalp still hurts from all the hair she pulled out! No finishing spray or anything. I'm used to paying 35 without tip in socal and this place is 23 for a cut, so I definitely got what I paid for. Needless to say, I will not be coming back. read more

I'm giving SaSam Hair Salon 5-stars for the wash/blow dry because that's the only thing I've done and wanted. I have my hair cut/colored/styled from my regular stylist in Stockton... I've been here 4 times and am so happy when I leave. If you are looking for a relaxing, thorough hair wash, this is the place! Massages with hair wash is the ULTIMATE! I have long hair and there's just times I don't feel like washing it myself. It's much more relaxing when someone else does it. Even better when they do a great job... Soooo wanted to go to sleep! I really needed a haircut and amazingly this place was open on Christmas morning! I came here on my friend's recommendation and I was thoroughly satisfied. Chau cut my hair and she was very friendly. I didn't give her too much direction except to trim 1-2 inches, relayer my hair and trim my bangs. Other than that, I let her do whatever she wanted simply because I wanted to see what she would and could do. She definitely cut off more than 1-2 inches and majorly thinned out the bulk of my hair, but I'm quite happy with it all. Since the change of the salon's name to Sa Sam, the prices also increased. It used to be $20 for a woman's haircut but it's now $23. My friend got her haircut immediately after me and Chau curled her hair at the end for free. Could be for the customer loyalty, but regardless, she's very nice and she'll give you her honest opinion if you ask for it. Before she worked at Sa Sam, she worked at a different hair salon and she has been cutting/styling my hair since I was in high school. She is sweet, gentle, and a great conversationist. Sara has been cutting and coloring my hair the past 6 years! This review is way long over due! I'm always happy with the results. One thing I really love about this place is its clean, affordable and it comes with a head massage when she washes my hair. She also styles it very nicely! I used to go to L Salon in San Mateo and I used to pay for everything there separately...wash, style, color and color. At Sa Sam, Sara does everything which is inclusive of what you pay for! I think one of the ladies is kind of racist. when I initially walked in, she did not even greet me - just said wait time is 30 hour and just sit.
