I moved to Alexandria last year and am so happy I found Sam. He has been instrumental in helping me navigate the awkward in-between phase of growing out a pixie cut, giving me a cute and stylish new look each time I leave his chair. He always offers great suggestions on what he thinks will work best for my hair. His shop has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and I feel pampered during each appointment. read more

We use this salon for our children and myself. They are always communicative and accommodating. Results are great and delivered with kindness and customer-centered care. A family member was dealing with significant hair loss due to a a medical condition and the stylist was compassionate and matter of fact, rather than making derogatory comments (which has happened elsewhere). read more

Samuel was great! He took the time to understand what my hair needed. Saved me from chopping it all off! Such a cute and cozy salon!

I have been to Sa-Sah Salon for multiple haircuts and manicures and have always left so happy with the results! I have curly hair and usually go in for a trim and sometimes a hairstyle cut. Both Sam and Miriam are extremely welcoming and friendly and constantly make sure it is a top-notch experience. Their place has easy street parking in front of their shop. I look forward to going back many more times! read more

Sa-Sah Salon is a hidden, unique gem in Old Town! I initially stumbled onto it when I was looking for a quick, last minute cut. From my very first call, all the way through to my final cut that day, the Sa-Sah Salon staff were welcoming, accommodating, and incredibly friendly. This is exactly why at the end of my first appointment I scheduled a follow-up cut and partial highlight for 6 weeks later. So far, I can only speak to stylist, Miryam's ability and per my five star award its obviously exceptional! She has great intuition about what cut, color, and styling will look good on you. Plus, she is a super sweet person whose passion for what she does is made obvious through the care she takes with each of her clients. All in all, Sa-Sah Salon offers everything you want in a salon experience: cleanliness, affordability, style, professionalism, and top-notch service. Basically, you walk out of Sa-Sah Salon feeling relaxed and beautiful, and of course, you have great hair! read more

This is a nice small salon that gives the ultimate in customer service. The staff is so talented I've seen the most amazing transformations with color. It's very conveniently located jus a 1/2 mile off 95 in Alexandria. I never have any trouble parking. I just had the best manicure I've EVER had from Oksana. She's not only a professional but quite the artist. She can design anything for your nails. read more

I really can't say enough good things about these lovely people and the quality work they do. Sam last did my hair (partial highlights and cut) back in December - here I am, 9 weeks later and still getting compliments on it! Skye just joined the team recently - on Mariam's recommendation, I let Skye do her magic on my lashes, and I am in LOVE. Truly, they're gorgeous; lush but natural. I have a filler appointment tomorrow, but honestly I think they'd last well past another week. I'm tempted to ask Mariam to do my nails, but I'm honestly afraid I'll get addicted to her work, too, and then I'll just have to pitch a tent outside of Sa-Sah because I'll basically be living there! read more

My daughter needed a haircut so desperately and I called these folks who stayed and waited just for us. The salon is beautiful! Mosaic tile floors and gorgeous historic old town touches. And the services were wonderful - and prices quite reasonable. Love this place! read more

The salon keeps getting better! I leave feeling beautiful and ready to take on the world! My color lasts and lasts, the shampoo session is like a mini massage, and the staff are just wonderful people! Mily has an incredible attention to detail. I always leave with a precision cut. More than a stylist a color master. First time Samuel did Keratin and fixed my hair color. Then he did my roots and cut with gorgeous side bangs. When people tell me how beautiful my hair is, I always tell them about him. At least one of my friends did Keratin and cut with him and was really pleased. In addition his brand new salon is in a prime location in Alexandria, VA (old town), the décor is super chic and elegant no the usual hair stylist desk. The hair washing chair is so comfy. Now you can also do mani, pedi and massage. read more

Still a great go-to place for hair color and styling. Very attractive layout and decor. Be sure to discuss color expectations before hand. Didn't try pedicure but it looks great, massage chair and privacy. Still issue with running late but you can sit in a really comfy chair, have tea, and read magazines. Outstanding customer service and attitude - Best in Oldtown. read more

For starters, I am new to the area, and like most; the need to locate your bare necessities are paramount. So for me a great nail tech is one of them. I've discovered this quaint hidden gem by accident while driving, and immediately made a U-turn once I spotted it. I was eagerly greeted by both a male and female, who I've come to learn are the owners. They work in unison, like liquid; or fluid if you will and so its very seamless. This type of atmosphere is what I've been searching for. To feel that one on one attentive proficient, yet caring service. You know, the smiles, the listening to the details of the very specific services one seeks when it comes to being pampered. I was offered, water, coffee, and tea. I experienced shared laughter, and wonderment. Last but not least, honesty. My nails were recently done before moving to this area, but I was attending an event and I wanted my hands to be presentable, since most times I speak with my hands. I was offered a maintenance service free of charge, because like I said; I had recently had a gel manicure. nonetheless, I opted out, I wanted the full experience, because just two ago prior to this mani service, I had gotten a pedicure. To say the least, I was more than happy about my pedi and the products they offered to continue to maintain healthy looking feet. So when my nails were done, and I've had many mani's in my lifetime, but she made my nails look even healthier than when I had walked in. That speaks volume for me, because I'm very picky selective about who allow to do my grooming on pamper day. I don't know about you all, but I know for me, I want what I pay for, but Sa-Sah Salon provided more. So if you're looking for that quaint and very private and personable service, this is your place. And Oh, let me not forget to mention, that whilst I was being pampered, I saw the looks of content on other patrons faces. Clearly I'm not the only person that loves this place. I mean this from the heart, I don't know these people to write this review, but I'm one who does read reviews, and I use them to gage somewhat the decision I'll make moving forward. If a stellar treatment, with quality work and partnership provides that certain Je ne sais quoi you look for when purchasing a service is what you seek on salon day, believe me, and I say this humbly, I would happily suggest this location for your beauty services. read more
