Nice service area, even though there is extensive work going on. Rather confusing entrance but go slow enough and you will find your way through. Toilet facilities are very clean here and there's always at least a free table to sit down and rest for a bit! There's McDonald's , w h smiths and other little shops but staff at McDonald's are really friendly! They also gave me a heads up it there's traffic forming! Also if you ask them nicely you can get an extra squirt of strawberry sauce in a ice strawberry and lemonade drink. Parking is never an issue here I've always found a space I think there is 2 hours free parking so keep an eye on the time!

I asked if it was for sale, however they referred me to Shaw's Corner Redhill where their used car showroom and sales were based. So I trolled along, parking in the rear car park. A Yaris was in that showroom ,an Hybrid so it was called. I negotiated a good price for the part exchange, and the necessary forms and deposit was arranged. A short trip around the block was arranged, and the car would be ready within a few days, all that was needed was to notify the insurance company . The car had free MOT and road Tax apparently, that was a bonus. Very grateful to Frank whom very efficiently went through all the paper work required, leaving only one thing to arrange ,the personal insurance and notification to arrange.

Used this garage as it was recommended to me by the RAC as it is a RAC "Approved" Garage and as it…read morewould get priority in getting fixed. 1st mistake listening to the RAC! Neven again. 1st off all the time it took to repair the car was 7 days. At first, they said they thought it was contaminated fuel, even though I told them that it had had half a tank of fuel go through the engine with no problem (it smelt funny like petrol they said). after 2 days of them having my car I phoned them to find out what was happening they told me it was not contaminated fuel, they said it was a regulator valve on the pump inlet (they had ordered the valve and was going to fit it without my consent) this was quoted at £105 (on the bill it's is down for £130) for the valve and with labour it would cost worst case scenario it would be a total of £300 + vat. So, told them to go ahead and do the work but to keep me informed. I had to keep checking in to find out when the part came and when they were going to fit it no curtesy car was offered. I then eventually went down to the garage to ask what was happening. They said they would fit it that day and ring me if there was anything else needed to do, I asked if it would be at 4:30 Nev said would be before that. I waited until 5 and rang them. They told me it was done and to come down. After getting there I then waited 40 minutes as he fixed up a bill, he told me that it would be £565 this is because he has to fit another part the filter housing as it was sucking in air ( was this the problem in the first place and nothing to do with the valve?). This was not authorised by me and there was a lack of communication. I argued the bill and he knocked off an hour labour (£90) this is all well and good but this is still £115 over the worst case scenario price. Do these people think we have money stuffed in the matrass waiting? Overall: - No communication - Not done in a reasonable time - Work done to car without authorisation - Not transparent with work or cost - should be called Nev'll fix it (eventually) at your peril

Hove car spares epitomises the no-nonsense approach to car parts. They are a dealer in second hand…read morecar parts, but unlike your average scrap yard you don't have to make your way through piles of smashed up rotting cars and brave, monosyllabic, testosterone filled scrap men. The service here is great and really friendly. The guy who you normally see behind the counter clearly knows the domestic car market inside out and is happy to answer any questions you might have about how to fit or remove anything you might be buying from him. On the down side though the selection of parts can be a little limited. This is mainly, it seems, to do with the size of the place - without a large yard you can't have a large stock. I've been there twice looking for a new wiper motor for my car and had the same stock response both times, "I've not got one in at the minute but call again on Saturday and there should be one then" . To be fair though, if you need to replace a part and don't want to pay the dealers' extortionate prices then this is the place to come first.
