I am clearly an older gentleman who enjoys a quiet, uneventful life. I buy my lottery tickets, mind my own business, and go home. Apparently, that's asking too much these days. This Chevron ExtraMile now requires customers to hand over their ID to purchase California Lottery tickets. When I presented mine, the senior cashier scanned it. I asked a simple question: "Is my personal information being recorded? If so, where does it go?" Her response? "It's company policy." I explained that, under the Privacy Act, I have a right to ask what information is being collected and how it's being used. I also pointed out that company policy doesn't automatically override people's legal rights or privacy concerns. Her final answer: "You can go buy your tickets elsewhere." Fair enough. But scanning and potentially storing a customer's identification just to sell a State lottery ticket seems like an awfully strange policy. I only wanted a chance to win the lottery--not an audition for a background check. read more

Been living in Montebello for over 30 years and this location has been my go to because it is literally down the hill from my house. I also have gotten to know all the employees that worked there since I get my gas at least twice a week there the past 30 years but unfortunately I will no longer be giving them my business. For the past three months the morning employees that are there at 7am, a younger male and sometime a older mid aged both Hispanic gentlemen refuse to take cash and make all the excuses in the book not to take cash and makes everyone pay by credit card. My bosses don't let us take cash, oh we forgot to get change, my register is broken. I finally got mad enough and asked an afternoon employee if that is a new policy and she said no and the reason why they are not taking cash is because they already counted the cash for end of shift and they don't want to recount it so they are telling customer no cash. If you are the owner of this location and are reading this, PLEASE FIX THIS! And get better employees that doesn't lie to their customers. read more

Ronny, Maria, and others are so friendly, wonderful, and helpful. It is a clean and spacious (outside) in the parking area. The landscaping has a generous amount of green, and inside the store, it is cozy, organized, clean, and neat. The gender neutral restroom is very clean. You can buy lotto tickets here. There is a water and air pump outside. Note that there is no alcohol? However, they have a great variety on cigarettes, and there are a lot of other goodies, snacks, essentials, wants, and needs to choose from. The card was not being read by gas pump and the credit card was stuck. I continued to cancel the transaction. I requested help at least 7 to 8 times and no one came to help. After 15 minutes I finally was able to get my card out of the gas pump machine. read more

Convenient spot, right off the freeway and near the mall. It's a normal, old gas station. I haven't been inside, I just pay at the pump. Gas flows kinda slow, but other than that, normal place. read more

Pumps take FOREVER to pump gas. It literally took me over 5 minutes to pump 12 gallons of gas. I haven't seen the total $$$ move that slow since gas was $1 a gallon. And they charge 10 cents a gallon for using credit and debit cards. Some day that will be illegal, I'm sure. And there are plenty of mysterious sticky spots on the ground to keep your feet busy while you wait. If I was paying attention, I would have noticed the smaller but much cheaper Chevron station right across the bridge over the 60 fwy. Live and learn. This place is horrible. read more

So I battle traffic from LA and decide to pull over to get something to drink. I posted a pic of their signage at the fridge, see photo. I think this is very deceptive. They placed the 2for3.99 under the large cans and the 2for4.99 under the small cans. I tried to explain this to the cashier and she got all defensive. 1) don't mislead and 2) when someone is trying to tell you what you are doing isn't fair don't get all upset about it especially when you are in the wrong. This location is kind of expensive depending on the current rates they tend to be high. It is close to home and right near the freeway which can be convenient at times. Popped in for gas,was in and out pretty quickly. Was clean and price was ok.

Great place to stop in for a pit stop. Place is clean and all the workers are very friendly. Price is usually the cheapest of the chevrons in the area. The people that complain the price is high are most likely Arco customers and accustomed to filling up their cars with cheap garbage. The location is convenient when visiting Costco or the Montebello mall. I enjoy a cup of coffee just about every day here. Enjoy the fact that there are over 6 types of flavored creams so that I can get my coffee tasting just the way I like it. read more
