Having just bought an older house, it turns out we had to replace the roof last fall after we had some water leak in after a big rain - fair enough, the house was about 50 years old. The only issue being that it is a flatter roof and not shingles. Instead it was a "tar and gravel" type roof, which it turns out is more expensive to repair/replace. Also, a lot of roofers can't do this type.
After calling around and getting some quotes, a friend recommended SImon Haseloh, as he had done a few roofs on houses my friend was renovating. After a few exchanges, he whipped by and took a look at my roof while I was at work and provided a quote that was well within expectations for this type of work. Instead of the older tar-and-gravel type, we went with a newer type that Simon had worked with before with great results.
We booked a date (after he finished his current job) and he dropped by with a container (to haul away the old roof) and the materials for the new work. Friendly to deal with, and did the work in the timeline we agreed on (as well as cleaning up after completion), it looks like Simon did a great job with the new roof. Of course, time will tell....ha ha...but with the HUGE rain we had this past weekend, everything looks great. read more
