I have attended S&S Auction for many years. People need to remember that you are at a dealer based auction. For an individual, like myself, I can go in and end up outbidding the dealers and get a great product for my home. The previous customer writes about the gentelman from Alexanderia. Realize, he is a dealer, who has to buy and resale for more money. For myself, I think of it as attending a wholesale auction, which gives me a great price on invaluable products. I did find out that the offfice staff and management, when you go early, have no problem answering your questions and giving you honest advice about the items you are interested in buying. I can not stand when a consumer does not win what they want they attack the auction in a negative way. They bad mouth the auction because they could not obtain their desired item at an optimal price. I have been purchasing there for over 15 years. Just like the stock market, I have seen prices go up and down. But I am very satisfied and continuously get compliments on the quality and beauty of the pieces I have purchased. As a side note. (Not that I want a lot of people to go bid against me) I have attended a lot of auctions, small and large, but I find that the staff at S&S and the owner go out of their way to accomodate their customers' needs. As a customer of S & S on and off for many years, there is a need to refute the comments of the woman from DC. I have always been pleased with my purchases as well as the people at the auction. The S & S personel are quite knowledgeable and completely honest in their dealings with customers. They have never been even impolite, let alone rude, to me or anyone else I've heard from. Many times I have taken friends with me and they have been very impressed with the way the auction was run. Merchandise at S & S is always clean and in good repair. They must have a clear understanding with the pickers, dealers and regular sellers, since this is often not true at other sales. If you have any proof that Keith, not Kevin, gets a discount on his purchases, at least you should have the decency to show it. Anyone can make an empty accusation like this, but they should be prepared to back it up with facts and figures. One note of caution, amatures have a difficult time because the bidding is so fast and they go through so many more lots in an hour than at regular auctions. At S & S you see the same buyers there year after year, they are not fools. They have to buy wisely so they can make a profit. Apparently they, do since the come from all over to attend. read more

I found S & S Auction on a whim searching for furniture on my computer. I called them to see when their next sale was, the woman I spoke to on the phone was very nice and informable and I actually was very excited to go. When I showed up on the day of the auction, at first it was a little overwhelming I had never been to an auction before and the building is large and full of stuff. The girl that helped me at the window was very nice and friendly and actually made me feel more comfortable with how the auction works(again first timer). I was looking to get a sofa for my living room and they definately had a large selection and different styles. I also couldn't believe the prices they were very reasonable, I ended up buying a newer sofa and matching chair and the perfect lamp to match, because the price was so great. I love S&S Auction. The guys are quick and more than willing to help you bring your merchandise into the building. They are honest along with Denise in glassware and will tell you the truth about your merchandise. The owner Phil is a wonderful man and would give you the shirt off his back if necessary. He's awesome to deal with when it comes to furniture and antiques. Of course we can't forget the wonderful women that work in the office. They are always so pleasant and if you have an issue with anything, they are there to help. As for the property, it's beautiful. Always so clean, you don't have to see or walk over a bunch of trash, which is awesome because I've been an few other places that aren't so clean. They have everything organized so amazingly, you can easily see the merchandise which makes buying furniture and glassware/Art much easier. I have been dealing with S&S for many years.l have always found the best things there.l live 5 hours away so l don't get to go there as often as l liked.Since the turn in the economy its the only place l go.l stopped wasting my time buying on line traveling all over.l go there twice a month and l am never disappointed. Sometimes you discover a great restaurant and you never knew it existed and it becomes your favorite place to go...this is one of those places. I went there after a friend told me about it and bought so much that It wouldn't fit in my car! I had to rent a truck! The prices are ridiculously fair and the service is professional and helpful. On August 8, 2017, S & S Auction came to my home to pick up furniture and accessories that I wanted to sell because we downsized our home. The Auction crew arrived on time, with owner Phil Amaradio, which was impressive. Phil went over the paperwork with me and in an organized fashion, his crew carefully packed and removed my kitchen, living and family rooms. S&S auction is a fantastic supermarket for furniture, antiques, collectibles, and flea market merchandise. I have been going there for the past 30 years and haven't found a better source for antiques and flea market merchandise.
