He gave us a detailed, accurate estimate, build plan, and supply list. He walked us through all the options for construction and modified his plan to suit our requests. The Craftsman Initiative's pricing will be hard to beat--very reasonable. Jake also ordered supplies & set up delivery. When it arrived, he took inventory and worked out missing items with the supplier (their fault). Jake has a superb work ethic, and is honest as the day is long. Arrives on time and works hard all day. He cleans his work area when he departs for the day, and is superb about communicating his progress and work schedule--all rare qualities . . . His craftsmanship as a carpenter is impressive. He added hip roof/awning on our deck, and it looks superb! My wife loves it!! Sturdily built. In an era where it's becoming hard to find reliable craftsman to even show up, Jake is a breath of fresh air. It was a pleasure working with him--we could not be happier and have recommended him to all our neighbors. We will certainly be working with him again when we need a carpenter, handyman, etc.

NEVER HIRE THIS CON MAN!!! We hired DND through Angie's for…read more$3,800. This "business" deceived us and demonstrated gross negligence, as they did not pull a permit, where not licensed to work in our county at that time, did not build our staircase or landing to code, used untreated wood for the entire construction, with the only exception being 2 out of 8 posts (the smallest 2), built the staircase uneven, and did not finish the job (no hand rail installed per code or per our contract). Upon receiving this information we attempted to work with the contractor to get an approved permit, get an inspection, and finish out up the job correctly, but our contractor demanded we pay an additional $500 up front, tantamount to extortion, before he would do anything else for us. Due to the use of untreated wood, we have been told by inspectors and other local contractors that the job is a total loss and must be removed before an up to code staircase can be built in its place. We won our Arbitration case and per our Arbitration agreement Dennis of DND Home Improvement was to pay us the awarded amount. He has failed to do so, and it appears that will not pay unless forced by the courts.
